INTRODUCTION
The term personal development refers to the development of the skills which are utilised by
the individuals on everyday basis whereas the term professional development refers to the
development of those skills which helps a company in growing faster. The focal point of this report
is to have a brief study on professional as well as personal development of an individual and how
these skills assist an individual in accomplishing the targeted goals. This respective report will help
in understanding that how personal and professional development helps in developing various types
of skills, knowledge and talents in an individual and what tools and techniques is useable to achieve
the targets. With the assistance of this, a person can perform many type of activities in a very
sequenced and planned manner. This results in achieving the desired goal in an effective and
efficient manner. In this following report it is included that what are challenges an individual face
while studying the business management and thriving the professional practices (Prada, Mareque,
and Pino-Juste, 2022). Then the report discusses about the importance of having effective academic
as well as professional skills development in the life of an individual. Further, the report discusses

The Business management is a basic and important part of education which gives knowledge
to an individual regarding the planning, implementing, executing, supervising and analysing of the
business and its activities. The various kinds of challenges which an individual faces in studying the
business management and thriving in professional practice are discussed below: -
 Adjusting to the new surroundings: - this is one of the most crucial as well as toughest
challenge which an individual have to face while studying the business management.
Shifting into the new place, new city sometimes results in clashing with the new
environment, surroundings, new people as well as new culture (Meissner, and Shmatko,
2019).
 Connecting with the new people: - interacting and talking with some new people becomes
a challenge for an individual sometimes. This happens because they have a regular social
life with their friends, family and neighbours. As there are various types of people with
various kinds of behaviour, mentality, languages, interest, culture and many more. This
result in increased gap in the communication among the individuals because of which they

can't socialize much with others.
 Scheduling: - the students who are currently studying the business management course has
to go through many problems in scheduling their various sorts of everyday activities. They
have to attend the regular lectures and keep an eye on their attendance, complete the
assigned tasks daily, complete given assignments, create presentations on topics and so on.
So scheduling the activities is quite a challenge for the new students in order to carry off
their everyday routine task in an effective way.
 Expenses: - everyday expenditure also act as a crucial challenge which is faced by the
students while studying the business management or committing any kind of professional
practices. They also take loans for their business management course and living but their
other everyday expenditure like food, travelling needs more money and for fulfilling theses
expenses they do part time jobs too (Asio, and et. Al, 2019).
Explain the importance of effective academic skills development.
The development of the effective academic skill makes a student much more efficient
learner which enhances the confidence in themselves in the completing the given project and task in
a very effective way. This is one of the most essential skills by which the productivity level of the
student gets increased. which results in the better future success of students. The requirement of
developing the effective academic skills in the student has been discussed below: -
 Good researcher - at the time of academic period, various sorts of researches are conducted
by the students to carry out the assigned project. This makes them an effectual researcher.
Developing these academic skills in students helps them in responding to the different kind
of questions by gathering the data form proper sources in an effective way (Sallati, de
Andrade Bertazzi and Schützer, 2019).
 Effectively manage the time - developing the effective academic skill in a student helps
them in delegating their activities and studies as well in appropriate manner. It is very
essential for the students to utilize their almost time in their studies, learning, carrying out
the several assignment and prep up for the examinations. As an outcome they are able to
carry out all the assigned task within the deadline period.

in analysing the conditions and they can figure out the effective solution to different
difficulties which will come across in their future career. Because of this they can be a

easily and effectively. And they can also have the advantage of various opportunities. Below there
are some of the importance of developing professional skills in an individual: -

appropriate decision. Then I have to make a plan and analyse the benefits and drawbacks of all the
available alternatives and then choose the best one.

From this respective report it has been concluded that the it is very important for individuals
to develop professional as well as academic skills in themselves. personal development refers to the
development of the skills which are utilised by the individuals on everyday basis whereas
