Introduction
The term academic skills are described as a collection of several strategies and also certain
learning habits in context with the phase of time management. It helps all the people in
learning and gathering effective knowledge (Young, 2021). In accordance with the aspect of
personal and professional development plan it is defined as a concept of managing and
maintaining the level of individual growth along with the phase of career. It is very
significant for a person to enlarge all their abilities on constant basis in order to ensure that
effective development and work safety is being done on legal basis

. It is also in context with continuous professional development. There are different goals and objectives which are involved in terms of
development process like short term goals and so on. The below report involves concept of professional and personal development , value of
medium, short and long term goals, value of personal development plan and assessment of eight sources
Definition of the concept of professional and personal development
In terms of personal development it is related to those kinds of activities which help in enlarging and increasing the level of individuals,
employees. Besides this it also enables in making certain developments in accordance with the standard and excellence of life. It mainly takes
place among whole life of a specific individual (Sharma, 2021). The main aim behind personal and professional development is to provide
people with several kinds of chances and also help in maintaining the growth level as well as the phase of career. It is significant for each
individual to gather some sort of knowledge and enhance talents and capabilities so that better productivity and efficiency can be built up. There
are different methods through which development of a person can be accomplished. This is the only way through which individuals can assess
all their skills and abilities and at the same point of time can set objectives and enriches their accurate prospective. There are different methods
through which personal and professional can be managed well. It is being explained as below: -
Determining and taking accurate opportunities: - In accordance with efficient level of training it not only comprises of acquiring
knowledge but is also needed to find out different level of opportunities which includes the usage of familiarity and certain capabilities
which help in collecting correct accurate opportunities for all people.
Clear goal about what is needed to achieve: - The time a person plans about all their objectives it becomes easy for them to cope up with
whole development process.
Explanation and discussion of the value of short term goals recognizing at least 3 personal examples
In relation with short term goals they are described as those goals and objectives which can be fulfilled in their respective future.
They are considered in accordance with that specific concept in which an individual would like to fulfil their all target within the
deadline. There are certain examples of having short term goals and it is being defined below: -
To explore something new every day. As it would help in expanding the knowledge regarding adventure. It also helps in building
up the motivation level.
To attend a personality development session. On the basis of this improvements are being done and better opportunities are there.
To manage the level of stress while doing work (Mejang and Suksawas, 2021). There are many situations in which stress gets
increased so with regards to this, it is a short term goal on which focus should always be done.

Short term goals are crucial for an individual because it keeps the person on track and with regards to that path it helps them in achieving their
all long term objectives (Cornelius and Murawski, 2021). A person can work on these goals at any point of time. Personal goals are as
significant in terms of professional goal. These are important because it helps in achieving ultimately long term objectives as on the basis of
these only individuals get to know about real situation and what kind of strategies should be applied.
Depiction and discussion of the value of medium term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples
Medium term objectives are defined as two goals which take restricted period of time to accomplish everything. It can be achieved even in few
weeks also or can take the time of months. On the basis of all these goals and objectives they provide effective skills and talents. Besides this it
also leads an individual to the phase of development( Thien and et.al, 2021). They are considered as those goals in which all the things are
planned during career and lifetime period. Every individual should set up their medium goals also just focusing on long term objectives becomes
very difficult and a person cannot get motivated for long period of time. There are various examples of medium term goals and it is being
explained as below: -
The mid- term goal is to go on a dream trip. It helps in representing the overall movement of life. Through this objective whole life
journey can be efficiently presented.
To start a new business (Service and Thornton, 2021). While establishing a new company the profession can be expanded well. It also
helps in gaining effective knowledge regarding business concepts which are good for near future.
To start a new career in order to complete the studies of post- graduation. On the basis of this it helps in gathering more knowledge
regarding different kind of subjects which help in exploring new businesses.
Explanation and discussion of the value of long term goals classifying at least 3 personal examples
Long term goals are described as those objectives in which an individual wants to accomplish in their respective future. In relation with
these goals accurate planning and time management is needed. It offers necessary guidance with respect to each situation and is
considered as an advantage to make important decisions. The value of all these goals adds real meaning to life. While looking at the
aspect of career also long term objectives are the most significant one because it helps in doing efficient level of planning. There are
certain long term personal goals and it is being defined below: -

To become a leader in the respective field. It is one of the most important roles because being a leader helps in enhancing the
level of productivity. It also helps in managing the effective structure in terms of the aspect of accountability.
To get a degree. As to achieve all goals and objectives completing the education is the most important thing. It is a significant
personal goal which each individual should have because it creates lot of value while enabling new businesses also
( STROIANOVSKA and et.al, 2021)
To buy a house. It is a long term goal because in future it is necessary to have own house for future security. This goal possesses a
great value because on the basis of this stability is there in whole journey.
Description and discussion of the value of a Personal Development Plan
Personal development plan is refer to as an individual expansion strategy which includes a statement of education, training and so
on. It provides a proper pathway with respect to personal as well as career goal. It creates an effective value because with the help
of personal development an individual can easily assess all their strengths and weaknesses ( McCabe and et.al, 2021)
. There are many benefits associated with developing plan like it improves the sense of direction and on the basis of this an individual is clear
regarding what they actually want to achieve. It is further being explained below: -
Conclusion
It has been concluded that there are different types of goals and objectives like short term, medium term and long term goals. Every
individual need to set up certain targets so that they can achieve growth and reach to high level. In terms of personal development plan it creates
a great value on the basis of which all individuals can examine all their strengths and weaknesses.
