Introduction
Academic integrity refers to commitment as well as demonstration of moral and
honest behavior for purpose of academic setting. It is relevant for university which
provide credit to others by using their ideas (DiPaulo, 2021). This academic integrity
is important for all people as it helps students for learning and developing new skills
which helps them in academic achievements. It also helps employers and
universities for various reason. This project report includes description of academic
integrity and its important in higher education. It describe implication of academic
misconduct which create problems for students. It consist reflection on steps to be
taken by a person to produce a game. Moreover, it reflect upon skill to be developed
in academic year.

An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
Academic Integrity refers to commitment as well as demonstration of moral and
honest behavior in academic setting. It is important at university as allow a person to
provide credit to another person for using their ideas. It is essential for
acknowledging of contribution of other people (Hayrapetyan, 2016). If a person fails
to offer these acknowledgment then it is considered as plagiarism. It is basis for goal
of university which enable a person to exchange ideas and develop new knowledge.
It require individual scholar to work with and also trust each other. In order to avoid
academic misbehavior like plagiarism, falsification as well as fabrication, it is
important to cited work and promote academic integrity. When an individual is
focuses on negative behavior then in that situation academic integrity is absent.
There are main four pillars of academic integrity like honesty, trust, fairness, respect
and responsibility.
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher
education
Academic integrity is important for student, teachers as well as employers which
helps to maintain discipline and integrity in life. Importance of academic integrity in
life of a person is mentioned below:

For Student: It is important for students to get best opportunities in order to get
success by getting good grades and maintaining ethical behavior. It is also essential
for students to avoid negative outcome like failure in completing work, utilization of
effective sections (Ard and Ard, 2019). It helps them to reflect values, morals,
integrity, characters and credibility of a person in university. Students with academic
integrity are more likely to perform in effective manner with dedication. They
complete their work with honesty, fairness and maintaining respect and
responsibility. It provide opportunity to a person to learn, improve and develop new
skills. It also helps a person to get educational degree which reflect academic
achievements.
For University: University is delivering consistent and credit worthy values to
individuals who are studying. There are different factors which are contributing for
maintaining integrity at university (Myers, 2021). There is different pressure in
universities as it is one of important place in society as well as at global level. In
order to maintain honor as well as international ranking in competitive environment,
they needs to maintain academic integrity which allow them to attract more and more
students. For this purpose, universities needs to ensure there is not integrity failure
and if happen, strict punishment is given to students. Another reason for importance
of academic integrity is to maintaining academic standards as these helps students
to develop various skills which will provide them further employability.
For Employer: Integrity is an important aspect at workplace which consist principles
and values. It is expected to be inhered from universities as a part of good
governance (Moulton and Falcone, 2018). In daily operation of business, it is an
unwritten condition where employees need to work with integrity, guidance,
monitoring and standards. It is also identified that employability is related to
acquisition skills as well as attributes which has been developed at university. It
make a person job ready and provide them various opportunity in life.
Discuss the implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct refers to cheating which occur in relation to formal academic
exercise. It is important for universities to take these misconduct seriously in order to
ensure effectiveness of skills and knowledge of students. Implication of academic
misconducts is mentioned below:

Social consequences: There are various moral consequences of cheating like
developing habit of cheating, devaluation of integrity, handwork, fairness (GROSU
and TOADER, 2020). It become habitual nature of a person to cheat which indicate
that a person who cheat at academic activities will also cheat at workplace, family life
as well as other aspects of life. It can cause various harmful effects on life of a
person and action of other person.
Legal Consequences: Faculty includes students in projects which can be granted
by university through external sponsors like professional organization, business and
government agencies for providing students with different opportunities in order to
overcome of real life problems. It is important for sponsor to take strict action again
students which are involved in falsify, plagiarism in projects. These action can be
loss of future projects, fines, lawsuits and many more. These action cause serious
consequences on a students as it ruin reputation of a person at university.
Loss of intellectual property: Academic misconduct like plagiarism are equivalent
like stealing property of another person (Alajami, 2020). Academic work of as person
related to their ideas, writing, music, design are considered as their currency and use
of this currency by another person without their permission is recognized as loss of
intellectual property.

Gibbs model of reflection: This mode of reflection is developed in the year 1988 by
Graham Gibbs which provide structure for learning experience. It provide a
framework for purpose of examining experience and also allow an individual to learn
and plan things. It includes different stages which is mentioned below:

Description: For Personal Development Planning, teachers has given an
assignment for group. In this assignment, as game needs to be prepared for purpose
of academic misconducts policy. Goal of this game is to avoid plagiarism and other
misbehavior in academic life of a student (Cooksey and McDonald, 2019). In this
assignment, teachers has given freedom to student to choose their partners for
projects. For this me and my friends came together for completing assignment s we
have different skills which helps us to complete project in effective manner. For this,
we have discuss things and divide work to each others.
Feelings: Before starting this project, I was really excited and wants to prepare
project before deadline in order to avoid work pressure. But teacher added two
additional members with us which create problems for us. It is difficult to cope up
with these new members as all activities are decided previously and we divide all
activities again. During this project, it become difficult to complete work and create
various problems for us. But in the end, we have complete project on time which
make us happy and satisfied with our work.
Evaluation: Idea for designing game is good which is important for designing game.
Group work and contribution of other team members also create favorable situation.
It can be done through open communication among team members. Problems in this
assignment arise due to entry of additional members in project as we does not have
much interaction with these new members in project. But is does not create much

negative impact on project. In the end, we are happy with completion of project
before deadline and also get appreciation from teacher.
Analysis: Everything in this project was went well and problem arise with adding
new members in project as we needs to divide work again. It is quiet difficult in
beginning of project to cope up with new members which create stress on group
members (Moore and Gaviola, 2018). There is nothing in this situation which can be
change and it cause problem in completion of project. Best part of this situation is
good intention of new members as they are contributing their best and taking active
participation in completion of project. With open communication, dedication and team
work, we ar able to complete this project on time.
Conclusion: I have learn various new things from this situation as it is useful
experience which helps me in future. It helps to solve problem occur in life and also
allow me to take initiative in completion of project. I have various new skills during
completion of this assignment like communication, time management, creativity
skills.
Action Plan: When I get opportunity to do same thing again, i will be more assertive
while selecting group members for completion of project. I will also make sure to be
less stressed and focusing on completion of work. I will also acknowledge group
members while thing has gone in right manner and also will celebrate small
achievement with group members in order to motivate them.
Reflect on the skills you have learned this academic year and those
emphasized in producing your game
There are various skills to be develop by a students during academic year.
These skills also helps me in designing game which helps to avoid plagiarism .
Some of these skills developed by me is mentioned below:
Communication Skills: Communication refers to process of sharing ideas,
thoughts, feelings from one person to another. This skill is learned by me during
academic year by participating in different activities (Smith, 2021). It is an important
skills which provide various opportunity to a person. It helps a person to reflect their
views on something clearly without any confusion. This skills helps me in designing
game and write instruction to play game which can be easily understood by user.
Time Management: Time management refers to a process which helps to
organize and plan different activities that allow a person to divide time in a way which

helps them to saves time for productive activities. It is an important skills for
designing game which helps to manage time effectively and allow me to concentrate
on designing game and other important activities. It allow me to focus on studies and
other activities which boost my knowledge and learning.
Creativity Skills: Creativity is another skills which helps in completing a work
in effective and unique manner (Adams, Turner and Eaton, 2021). It is an skill which
can be learn through academic year while preparing presentation, completing
assignment. It helps me in designing game in creative manner which create interest
of user to play this game. It allow helps me prepare presentation of designing game
which can be easily understand by another person.
Team work: Team work refers to collaborative efforts of group members in
order to attain common goals. It is important skills which is required in professional
life of a person. It can be developed in academic life of a person by completion of
group projects. This skill helps in designing game as it is a group projects and
require contribution of each members.
Conclusion
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that academic integrity
consist fundamental values which provide success to students. It is important for
students which allow them to develop various skills, knowledge and learning. It is
also important for universities which helps to be competitive in work and helps them
to improve their ranking in globally. It also provide good opportunities to employees
as integrity make a person more responsible. Academic misconduct can cause
various negative consequences as it can cause legal and social consequence. There
are various skills to be developed by an individual in their academic life like
communication skill, time management, creativity and others.
