Introduction
Every individual work in some or the other place because without doing work
at other places they would not be able to make growth in their life and will also not be
able to learn new things(Jackson, Shoup and Williams, 2021) .New things can be
learned when the individual explores new opportunities which is available outside the
comfort zone. If the individuals will work then they will feel the sense of
independence and also relieves people from stress but for this it is also important
that the place at which they are working is also good and making them feel
motivated. But the main factor which forces the individual to work is the motivation.
To work requires motivation which is an important thing to achieve success in
whichever work the individual will do. This report will cover meaning of motivation,
Maslow theory, factors which motivates employees to work and the positive and
negative factors which employees experience as a result of their job roles.
What does Motivation Mean?
Motivation is mainly a process in which it helps in providing the guidance,
develops the factor of taking new initiatives and on the other hand will help in
maintaining goal oriented behavior. An individual can feel motivated because of any
reason either a need or a want.
Maslow Need Hierarchy Model-
This model is based on a need which the individual has and they will move in the
upward direction only when their other needs will be satisfied which has been
explained below-
Physiological needs- With the physiological needs which are considered to
be the most basic requirement which is needed by every single
individual(Rojas and et. al., 2019) . These needs includes food, shelter,
clothing, air, water and other things which are important for the basic living.
Safety needs- The other step which individuals moves after getting the
satisfaction from physiological needs is the safety needs. When an individual
comes at this level then their preferences changes to this in which their main
priority becomes financial security, job security, health and wellness and etc.
Social needs- After the safety needs gets satisfied then the individual moves
towards the social needs. Here, the person requires love and affection

because in the end every one craves for love and if they will not receive this
then they might get de-motivated.
Esteem needs- This level of motivation means the appreciation and self-
respect which every individual wants and deserves. When all the levels of
motivation gets accomplished then people requires for esteem needs. This
need basically means to achieve recognition and respect from other
people(Magnussen and Svendsen, 2018). Self- actualization needs- After all the needs which is being satisfied by an
individual the last need is the self-actualization in which the person will require
social service or to make the exploitation of talent and other potential.
Intrinsic motivation- Intrinsic motivation is that motivation in which the person does
any activity not because they will be getting some rewards but because they find it
very interesting or enjoyable.
Extrinsic motivation- Extrinsic motivation is that motivation in which the individual
gets motivated because of the external rewards which they will be acquiring. These
external rewards can include money, fame or some type of power.
The various factors which motivate employees to work
Salary: There are many things which motivates people but the most important is salary
because every person is working to earn money(Bagozzi, Sekerka and Sguera, 2018).
For the satisfaction of increasing demands of individual there is always a need of money
so that they can make their living accordingly. In at every workplace, the managers try to
influence the employees to work hard by making some appraisals because of main
motivating factor. People will not chose such places where there is no money as no one
wants to do their work for free.
Promotion: Promotion is the another element which can help the person to be
motivated because individual work hard to get some benefits. For getting higher post
every person works hard and it becomes important for the companies to provide such
facilities. The main reason for providing such motivation is if they will not be given
external benefits then they will not make any additional efforts to work for the objectives
of the company.

Work Environment: Work environment is the other important factor which helps in
getting the motivation to the individual. The reason for having positive and friendly work
environment is that employees will not feel restricted to do anything(Wong, 2018). There
must be some motivation for the people to come daily at workplace and this requires
good work environment. With the good and flexible work environment which is having no
restrictions people will feel good and will make every moment enjoyable and this will also
help in reducing the employee turnover rate.
The positive factors employees experience as a result of their
job roles
For providing good job experience to individual it is important for the organization
to provide some factors which can act as positive to them. The main factor which is
experienced by the individuals is the work environment which needs to be productive and
effective. For many people work environment plays an important role which needs to be
flexible and not restricted. The other factor which needs to be experienced by an
individual will be getting growth opportunities as similar task can make an individual
bored. For this thing, it is very important from the side of management to provide them
the training session so that individuals can make the development of skills as this will
indirectly help them in their development which will be shown in their work also(Derman-
Sparks and Edwards, 2019). There must be some excitement in the work which the
employees are doing and for that it is very important that the employees must be given
with different task so that they can explore their potential. The reason for this is when the
individuals will given with different task then that will give them some excitement to work.
Some delegation of authority and power is also the important thing which is experienced
by an individual while at work. The reason for this is that they feel the sense of
confidence in them and they get to know that how the things need to be done.
The negative factors employees experience as a result of their
job roles

If the workplace is negative in terms of work environment then the employee
turnover ratio will be more or the performance of employees will not up to the mark. This
negative factor of the workplace can make the reputation decline which will make it very
difficult to bring back that position. The main thing in a present time which the employees
are experiencing with their job role is the workload which is making it difficult for them to
make a balance on their personal and professional life(Qu, 2020). The excessive
workload is the reason that people are facing some issues related with health or having
higher stress level. The other factor could be a leadership style which might be autocratic
which mean they just give the directions of how the work needs to be done without taking
any opinion from the other employees. The other factor which impacts and make a
negative experience is the recognition and incentives if the employees will not receive
then it can make a negative impact on the work which they will doing and they will not
feel motivated to work hard for the company. The last and the most important will be the
opportunity to grasp new things which will help in taking new things.
Strategies to cope with negative factors employees
experience as a result of their job roles
There are different strategies which can work best for removing and reducing the
negativity which the employees feels and that includes providing opportunities to the
individual in which they are best. To give them the opportunity in involving the employees
for the companies decision making which makes them feel good about their importance.
The reason for this is that if the employees will be given the opportunity to indulge in the
important matters of company then at that time they will feel the importance at the work
place. Also, if the performance of company needs to be improved then it is important to
make the work place culture more flexible and friendly (Blackwell and et. al., 2018).
Employees crave for good work environment and culture and if that will be provided then
employees will not involve in any politics. Furthermore, it is also important that
employees must be provided with fair treatment because if this will lack in the workplace
then there are chances of hatred by the employees with one another and this will make
an impact on their performance as well.

Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that for the success and growth
individuals have to work for learning new things. Working outside will not only make
an impact on their learning but with that they will also develop their personality. They
will be make their own identity and will meet new people. The actions which they will
be taking for doing work will help them in setting their future actions.
