INTRODUCTION
The report aims to analyse the key importance of professional portfolio. There is
requirement of academic development which in the current modern world. The students are the
future of tomorrow which leads to contribute in the economic development. They have
innovative mindset and courage to take risks. Academic development is necessary for their
growth and development. It will enhance skills, potential, attitude and knowledge which is
required for future career growth (Achen, 2018). Professional goals and objectives are a key
essentials for an individuals while learning in the university. It will keep them updated about
mistakes and improvements. Academic institution creates a a lot of opportunities for the students
to learn and apply knowledge effectively and take support from teachers and peers. This report is
going to provide 4 piece of evidence which will showcase the life goals along with personal,
career and development goals. Also, there will be reflection on being an effective student for
business Management. How the module has influenced own learning capabilities by applying
two models of learning.
MAIN BODY
TASK
Portfolio evidence (1) life goals
Academic development is a vital process of learning new knowledge, improve key skills
and grow talent. In order to make own career or academic development, it is vital to set life
goals. It creates a motivated path which shows direction and needs for goal achievement. When
an individual set a goal or objective, they become clear with the future path which save time and
cost to invest in other activities. The student will only move further for the right direction that
will lead them towards achieving set goals. My main purpose of this portfolio is to set career
paths through building a goal in life. My main motive is to be human resource manager in a
reputed organisation. This profession is of my own interest as I always wanted to be on HR
position and collaborate with people (Ní Dhiorbháin, 2019). I want to be an inspirational
personality by creating great policies an strategies for employee welfare. I want to change
management scenario which are not accepted by current employees due to which they suffer at
workplace. This is my oriented goal to achieve in life for which I will work hard to enhance my
skills like communication, interpersonal, technological and administrative. I want to be a

valuable asset for the organisation by managing workplace in my way which will be helpful for
modern business environment. This will be done through engaging in academic practice. This
would give the start to my career objective and I will reach definitely to my dream career job.
Portfolio evidence (2) personal goals
Personal goals are those which is developed for own use and satisfaction. These are
required for attainment of objectives and goals. Therefore, it is required for self development at
academic level. The purpose behind setting personal goals is to manage own activities and time.
When there are many things to achieve in life but has a busy life schedule. So that, it is require
to get the motivation right from setting own personal areas which will inspire and motivate own
self. This portfolio will create the objectives and goals to accomplish my life goals. It shows
that, all the goals are interrelated with each other (Saiapina, and Коrkishko2018). Once an
individual set initial steps through personal objectives, they could easily achieving life goals by
attaining small steps towards success. My own personal goal is to enhance my skills beyond my
potential level. I need to find my competences which lead to create major impact on my working
performance. I want to hold a reputed position and make myself an inspirational personality. For
which, I will manage my time and daily routine to give priorities to other work.
Portfolio evidence (3) career goals
There is requirement of setting career goals which leads to analyse own potential in
future career. Every individual has different knowledge, understanding and skills which makes
them capable to face challenges and cope up with market changes. It is vital to give importance
to the own career planning which will give motivation to stick to the aims and objectives (Xu
2018). The students could easily look for their motivation and skills which are required to
develop during university period. It is the crucial time to invest in fulfilling objectives and life
long planning. Therefore, the students must analyse own interest. For instance, I have interest in
becoming HR manager for which I will work hard to give best in this role. I will seek
opportunities and benefits from market that will fulfil my career objectives for being capable of
doing tasks in proper manner. I need to have many business skills which is required for the
purpose of reaching to career paths. I want to develop business practices and get a qualified
degree from my university. So, I could have full information of the HR life cycle, their functions
and job role. I want to give my best efforts to the understanding of the career opportunities. This

will impact on own life targets which is to buy a house and get all the luxurious facility. For that
instance, I need to work on myself which will give good results in my future.
Portfolio evidence (4) Development goals
As per this portfolio targets, development goals are also vita for an individual. It provides
an opportunity to the individuals to achieve career goals. There is requirement of the support and
proper guidance to develop the goals effectively. The whole development process consist
improvement of own skills by analysing strength and weakness. This would enhance the
opportunities and benefits of the market and for the individuals. It will help in development of
skills which is necessary for my HR job role (Lam, 2018). So, I will prepare PDP plans which
will includes the skills, their importance and resources would be require. I will make sure that, I
can work on taking feedbacks on my own growth which will showcase me about the changes and
development of the cases. This will helps to focus on developing goals through monitoring own
performance.

a) Reflect on being an effective student of Business Management in higher education.
Being an effective business management student, there are a lot benefits a students came
across with. Business management is a a core subject that gives all the knowledge and
information about business practices, functions and job roles. It is necessary to do deep into the
knowledge of business working in order to secure career life. Management is required in every
filed which will helps in keeping people at the right goal and objectives. It will give rise to
manage own career growth in this field as there is much requirement of managers who can play
best role into an organisation. Business management practices will makes an individual self
confidence and full of knowledge about the workplace (PMaas, 2020). Professional growth are
highly require while working in this industry. It is necessary to get all the development activities
done right for achieving good position in the business and management. Therefore, I have
analysed that business is all about being professional in the working. A business includes many
vital practices like attending customers, foreseeing employee, manage work and communicate
with the clients and organisation people. While educating in this field, I work dedicatedly in
learning all the important topics which has lead to carry out the business practices. I want to see
myself as on higher level of studies through being an effective student. I worked hard and

completed all my projects on time. I have make sure that, I perform my work and give exams to
my true knowledge and does not involve in any cheating. This will impact on my studies and I
would not be able to achieve my career goals. My own SWOT analysis is presented below:

This module have provided me knowledge about personal and professional development
in an effective manner. As being a business and management student, these professional skills
are vital for me to achieve my goals to get my dream job role. There are various skills which will
be develop at the time of completion of this module. I will be able to set my career pathways and
focus on clear directions. In order to get future success, professional development is crucial to
have within every employee (Cox, and Mostafavi, 2020). I have learned skills like good writing
and reflecting on my work activities. I could drive out the importance of personal goals in
achieving future success. These skills would address me achieve my career objectives. It will
lead to enhance the motivating factors like secure future and posses personal development. The
acquisition of skills like reading and writing in professional manner is necessary is a part of
personal success. I have also learned technical skills which which helps In working on different
software that are vital in modern workplace.
Explanation of two models of academic &personal development &how this has improved my
learning
Model 1
The personal growth model
As per this model, there will be self assessment of major elements like beliefs, plan,
action and its outcome (Lam, 2018). It helps in working with the clear aims and beliefs that an
individual is require. It consist basically 5 steps on which, whole personal planning is based upon
which is described below:
Belief: it is the first stage in which individual showcase their beliefs regarding personal
aspects (Rojas Guiza, 2019). This would include their interest, past experiences whether some
good or bad. Therefore, it is essential to take care of all these experiences while taking further
decision for development.

Plan: once the beliefs are identified, it Is the time to set appropriate plans for the learning
process. By using this stage, I started preparing strategies to market my weak skills like poor
communications and technological.
Action: once I have prepared plans in which the activities are aligned about what to learn
and improve, I need to take actions (Islam, Al Shafi, nd Rahman, 2018). I go to find resources
and support which will be helpful to achieve my objectives.
Result: The end result would be the outcome of all the actions. If the results will be
positive if the prices will be continue and if not, a new plan will be made.
Review: by reviewing own process, this stage involve taking feedbacks and focus on the
activities like performance and its relevance.
Model 2
Vark learning style:
There is requirement of learning style which help me to carry out the whole process in an
effective manner.
Visual Learners: these learner those who only can learn by sitting at front. They are
active learners who prepare notes and draw diagrams (Yates, 2018).
Auditory Learners: These individuals learns from listening to the lectures which
enhance their compatibility to learn more effectively.
Kinaesthetic learners: These kinds of individuals mainly observe the classroom
activities to grasp knowledge.
CONCLUSION
The report has concluded that, it is necessary for every individual to make personal goals
these are set as per the life, career, personal and development. These will help in improving
skills for achieving career objectives. Therefore, the report has shown that this module has helps
in utilising reading writing and administrative skills to connect with others and present work in
professional manner. Therefore, the learning process has been completed by applying personal
growth and Vark model.
