Task One:
Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
The development of the personal and professional skills is really important for the
consistent and continuous improvement of the career. Personal skills are those skills that
are useful in building the exceptional personality and professional skills are helpful in
performing the best in each task of the desired job (Rimmer, 2018). To mitigate the flaws
and shortcomings in the personal skills of the individual the personal development plan is
developed to set the target goals and the ways to overcome them by setting goals. There is
also a professional development that helps the individual to gain confidence in the
professional life. The present report will highlight some of my short term, medium term and
long term goals and PDP to achieve the weak skills and goals. The report also outlines the
eight resources and factors used to choose them.
Description and discussion of the value of short term goals

Short term goals- the short term goals are required to achieved in the near future such as in
a week, month or maximum a year. I personally use short term goals to enhance my
personal skills which also help me during my professional development (Guddemi, 2020).
The few short term goals I want achieve are:
 To plan and follow daily routine schedule
 To start reading newspaper daily
 To improve my two soft skills

Medium term goals- The medium term goals need more time to achieve mostly 2-3
years. I set my medium term goals to improve my professional development and to scale up
the bar of success in my professional life.
 To join one certificate course to improve my resume.
 To achieve merit in all subjects.
 To get admission in top college for my post graduation.

Long term goals- To attain the long term goals plenty of time is necessary that is
more than 3 years. The long term goals put in value to my personal and professional skills
that helps in achieving the dreams of life. My long term goals are-

Effectiveness of a source
There are important factors that are required to be considered by an individual before
choosing the source like book, journal and a research paper so that person can have a
accuracy of information. The factors are:

Author- the author is the person who has made the research and written it in the form of
article, book or journal. The sources selected by the persons are mostly written by the
famous and experienced authors. The content of famous authors is accurate and well
researched.
Purpose- the purpose is the aim or objective behind the study conducted. Having a correct
purpose is necessary to increase the number of readers.
Relevance- the relevance is refers to the authentication of the information and data of the
source. It is compulsory to have relevant real life proof for that information to be true.
Reliability- the reliability refers to the actual theories has are well reasoned and also have
discussions and arguments on them. By this the reliability of the research or an article is
measured.
