TASK 1
Meaning of Professional as well as individual development
Professional and personal development are the two important part of a person’s journey
of life which help them to achieve growth and progress in their career. Personal and professional
development provides various skills and abilities which are required in an individual to achieve
their desired goals and objectives in respect of their personal life or carrier domain. It helps the
individual to get themselves focused on increasing their potential expertise and competence and
achieve greater heights in their life.
Short term Goals
Short term goals are those goals of a person which helps them to take necessary and small
steps towards their long-term goals in efficient manner. Short term goals help buy individual to
achieve those goals of their life which they want in current situation of their life and can be
obtained in a short period of time. The examples of short term goals are:
 To learn a new language
 Improve Interaction skills
 Time Management skills
Medium Term Goals
Medium term goals are formulated for more time period than short term goals on the other
hand are for less time than long term goals. This medium term goals helps an individual to keep
themselves motivated during their career and helps them to fill required vacuum between the
short term goals and long term goals of a person. The instance of medium term goals are:
 Improve cooperation skills and team building skills
 Enhance flexibility
 Improve savings
Long Term Goals
Long term goals refers to the ultimate goals of an individuals which they set to be
accomplished in a long period. These goals helps an individual to set direction for them for their
better career. The examples are:

 To be an entrepreneur
 Buy Luxurious Properties
 Acquire personal house
Personal Development plan
Personal Development plan is an action plan which provides a detailed analysis of an
individual and create a plan to attain a required skills to achieve goals and objectives of an
individual. My personal development plan to increase my dedication to achieve my goals and
objectives are given below:
