Academic skills refer to ability, habit and the strategies that one need in order achieve
success in the settings of academics. These skills enhance the process of learning by activating
mind all the spheres. These skills include various skills such as the skills of communication,
planning, technical and the soft skills (Pereira and Costa, 2017). Academic skills increases
confidence, self-esteem and the competence that ultimately reduces the anxiety levels. By
developing these skills one can learn more and meet all the deadlines. The effective study and
good result are the result of good academic skills (Rabiner, Godwin and Dodge, 2016). The
process of higher learning not only help one till the time of attending school rather this focuses

resources and tool which is a basic necessity in order to carry out any process. The task of
planning is most important as it directly relates to the contribution that one will make for
ensuring productivity and accuracy. The planning abilities will decide when to start particular
task for meeting all the deadlines. Planning effectively ensures working in coordination with all
other members. The skills of planning also include various other skills such the critical thinking
skills, negotiation skills, communication skills. All the listed skills are interconnected. The
responsibility to make good plan lies with an individual, Planning skills has various kind of
importance like the proper planning gives proper direction to one for accomplishing the desired
goal. Chances of failing also decreases with the efforts of proper planning. Determining and
changing task according to the changes that occurs in the external environment help to work
productively. The skill of planning is associated with many things and that's why all the activities

should be planned in such a way that this reduces chances of overlapping (König and et.al.,
2020). The aim of planning is decision-making which will encourages chances of making great
success in the future. At last the most important advantage of planning is that it encourages
initiatives idea that one should take for professional and personal development. The work
conducted with such creative ideas increases motivation of an individual and the motivation that
one get with the process of planning makes sure proper outcomes while implementing such plan.
Research Skill
Research skill is one the most important ability which is required to consider by an
individual human in order to get the appropriate information and content about any particular
subject. Research simply defines as the ability to find an answer of solution to any specific
subject from where the adequate amount of knowledge can be gained the problem can be also
solved in accurate way (Berezina and et.al., 2020). In higher education like Business and
Tourism management studies, a student have to grab the enough knowledge of the researching
skill which helps them to grow and develop their cognitive quality as well and enable them to
grow and develop successfully. Business and Tourism management education leads the student
to adopt the knowledge of researching skill as it is important in this particular field in order to
grab the suitable and adequate information about the topic.
To start any work purpose, an individual student is needed to identify the information and
solution of the problem or upcoming risk which can be finely resolved and reduced in proper
manner by evaluating the resources and analysing for effective solution to the problem. The main

manage their working in effective manner and can help them to organize and plan the work

enabled to grow and develop at successful level.
By gaining the time management skill, it benefits the individual person to decrease their
stress level and supports them to increase their productivity from where they the work can be
furnished within particular deadline (Zhu and et.al., 2020). Thus, in business and tourism
management degree students have to learn this skill in significant manner as it helps them to
manage their work in the educational process from where they can deliver the successful

outcome and results as well. Time management is one of the ability and skill which encourages
the individual people to allow themselves to develop their performance and achieve the desired
goals with fewer efforts and more effective strategies and approaches from where they can
develop the confidence which furnish the work accordingly. For increasing the time-management
skills, students can create a well-formed plan where they can prioritize their working areas and
can finish their work accordingly.
