INTRODUCTION
A process of dealing with things and people is known as management. This study is
based on Sainsbury’s, second largest chain of supermarkets in the UK (Radovic Markovic and
Salamzadeh, 2018). This study is going to discuss different functions of business and ways in
which marketing department can accomplish goals by communicating with other departments.
Further, it will discuss all management functions such as planning, organizing and others. HR
department also plays a vital role in managing talent and retaining skilled employees and this
study will discuss its roles in a detailed manner.
MAIN BODY
Different forms and functions of business
There are number of business functions that need to be performed by employees in order
to accomplish goals and satisfying customers. Some common forms and functions of business
include:
Human resources: It is one of the main departments that perform number of functions with the
main aim of retaining skilled employees with business (Cristiani and Peiró, 2018). Some
important functions that are being performed by this department include: attracting and recruiting
employees, motivating employees, training to employees, rewards to them and retaining them
within business for the long run.
Marketing: Marketing is other form of organisation that also performs number of functions.
Some functions that help company in accomplishing its goals include: promotion of goods and
services of company, gathering customers needs and information, influencing them for buying
products and increasing sales.
Purchasing: It is highly important function in manufacturing organization. This department help
companies in increasing efficiency of work by purchasing raw materials in an effective
qualitative manner. Organization’s success mainly relies on the quality of products and company
can manufacture products in a qualitative manner when it has qualitative raw materials. So, in
this context, it can be said that this department plays a vital role.
Accounting: Accounting department is being hired for performing important professional
functions (Wenjiao, Chao and Daiguo, 2017). Chief accountant of this department is responsible
