INTRODUCTION
Academic Integrity is a process of producing own academic work via using,
interpretation and presenting other’s ideas in their own work. The report will cover the brief
description of academic integrity such as plagiarism, referencing etc. Further, the report will
also discuss the importance of academic integrity in higher education level along with the
implication of academic misconduct. Lastly, the report will cover the reflection on steps
taken to produce game, difficulties faced along with the skills learned in this academic year
and those emphasized in producing game.

An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
The concept of academic integrity revolves around the expectation that researchers,
students, teachers and all other members forming part of the academic community should act
in a fair, honest, trustworthy, responsible and respectful manner. These are the five values
that one must be committed to in order to ensure academic integrity. When academic
integrity gets breached, it leads to academic dishonesty or academic misconduct (Biagioli and
et.al., 2019). Academic integrity is made up of two words integrity and academic, where
integrity implies adherence to ethical and moral principles or honesty and soundness of moral
character. Academic integrity can be accordingly defined as the set of principles and values
which provide directions to facilitate responsible & honest educational decisions.
Academic Integrity forms the base of research, teaching and learning at university. It is
important because it allows teachers and students to build new knowledge, ideas and creative
works with great freedom along with acknowledging and respecting the work performed or
created by others (Guerrero-Dib, Portales and Heredia-Escorza, 2020).
There are certain examples that can be quoted with respect to academic integrity such
as not to alter or falsify a record, restricting other and ourselves from copying others work or
exams, not to take credit of such work that has not been done by one’s own, to show respect
to others by acknowledging them for the part performed, etc.
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity involves five values such as honesty, trust, fairness, respect and
responsibility which plays vital role in higher education. The various importance of academic
integrity are as follows:
For developing academic and career skills:
The academic integrity is significant for the students as well as university because it
will provide an opportunity for development of various academic skills such as writing,
reading, active listening, presentation skill in students. This also helps the tutor in developing
the skills such as problem solving, teamwork etc. in their students so that they can achieve
success in their career (Sotiriadou and et.al., 2020). With the help of new skill's development,
students can identify their interest career and achieve the same.

copy other ideas and students work than it arises the consequence failing an assignment.

Following academic integrity gave right to each student that they should take full
credit for the work they have done in their assignment. This also help the student to get
higher marks in the examination which further leads to the achievement of all their goals and

Academic misconduct can be defined as such actions that attempts to or assists in

or instructors. Accordingly, credentials are granted to those who are not deserving it
which leads to serious practical ramifications at workplace (Perkins, Gezgin and Roe,
2020).
ï‚· Sometimes legal actions are even taken against those indulged in academic
misconduct where actions include loss of respect, fines or lawsuits. Accordingly,
students find it difficult to get employed at desired post and destinations. In the long
run, students who have cheated or plagiarize in their university level suffers from low
level of self-esteem or even feel guilty and accordingly, loses respect for themselves
which in turn creates host of problems in their different aspects of life.

producing the game for Project 2
At the time of producing and designing the integrity Quiz game, firstly I have
provided the information on purpose of game. In this step, I have provided the students and
professor with the information that if they will play this game than the student will learn
about the importance and value of academic integrity along with the consequences of
academic misconduct (Ramdani, 2018). Now, in the second step, I have decided the number
of student and professor can play game at single time. I have faced difficulty in deciding the
number of students can play at one time. But after doing some research I have decided that
the professor will be one and students can be as many as depends on professor choice can
play the game. After that, I have face difficulty in framing the questions on academic
integrity because of my poor academic research skill. So, in order to deal with this issue, I
to do cheating in other aspects of life as well such as cheating at work and in family

In order to present some example of academic integrity question, I have framed 10
questions along with the options which help the professor in framing their own ethical
questions in small piece of paper. Further, after framing question, professor can ask questions
to their students loudly and then students need to select one options out of the given options.
Beside this, I have also faced the difficulty in setting out the points students will get for every
correct question and how they will get to know that their question is correct or not. This
problem has affected my whole game design. But with the help of my strength skill of
creativity, I have solved this issue as well (Stoesz and Eaton, 2020). In this, I have instructed
the player that for each correct answer the student will get one point and for wrong answer
they will get zero point. I the last step, I have decided that at the end of the game when
professor has asked all question and students has answered all question, the professor will
read the answer loudly so that student can check. In the end, I have also decided that the
student with higher marks will be considered as winner of the game.
However, lack of writing skill is also one of the difficulty I have faced at the time of
framing example of questions. Along with that, the greatest fear I have faced during the
production of this game is non-compliance of any standards, rules or regulations. I have
always found my self in the fear that what if I failed to follow rules and regulation the impact
of which wrong information on academic integrity will be spread among students (Stoesz and
et.al., 2019). This has also affected my concentration power which has result into the delay in
game designing. So, I have decided that I will develop all the skill along with time
management skill in myself in order to design the same game in the future.

meaning in our own terms which helps in eliminating the element of plagiarism from our
content. Designing games involves high level of creative thinking in order to present it in
attractive manner. I choose poster presentation as a tool through which my creative thinking
could be presented in an attractive and understandable manner for which I have watch many
videos and take guidance from my professors. Accordingly, I get successful in learning many
new creative and designing skills. Also, I have made poster presentation for the first which is
additionally proved as an element of enhancing my presentation and creative skills. At last, I
must say that this game designing task was proved to be excellent in terms of enhancing my
skills.
