Academic integrity refers to the act of honesty and moral behaviors which
must be followed in academic setting. In simple words, academic integrity is the
commitment of learners where they can demonstrate and reflect their ethical and
moral behavior in classroom. Academic integrity can be reflected through crediting
others work while taking their ideas and knowledge in order to work on our own
assign task at university (Brandlistuen, R. E and et.al., 2021). Therefore, the
approach of academic integrity states that the effort of other people must be credited
and recognized while using their work. The report will include academic integrity and
academic skills. Section 1 of the study will explore academic integrity in higher
education. This section will also discuss the implications of academic dishonesty. In
Section 2, the project will describe the problems experienced when designing the
game for assignment 2 and the skills developed throughout the academic year.

An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
Academic integrity can be stated as moral code of conduct and ethical policy
which must be followed by learners during their academic sessions. Academic
integrity is the core value which makes a person form ethical and right decisions
which will be helpful for them in avoiding facing misconduct. This approach
encourages students in avoiding getting engaged in cheating, plagiarism and in any
other form of academic misconduct. The pillars of academic integrity acts as core
values, which are- honesty, fairness, accuracy, respect and responsibility (De Bruijn,
A. G and et.al., 2020). The term academic integrity reflects the values which are
essential for learners during their academic year through which they can avoid
getting engaged in any academic misconduct.
Lastly, the act of academic integrity can be stated as the act of being honest
in the academic year where learners take full responsibility of their own work and
give credit by using the work done by other people.

increase the chances of success by avoiding the negative consequences that might
result from misconduct. As a result, students who do not follow the principles of
academic integrity may encounter difficulties as a result of academic misconduct and
may be denied admission to their preferred university.
For Universities
The importance of academic integrity for institutions and their environments is
determined by a number of variables. It is also critical to adhere to all ethical norms
and codes of behavior, since this aids in the development of goodwill and social
standing, which may be achieved through institutional credibility. academic
standards, professional practise, and assessment integrity, all of which assist
students learn abilities that will benefit their future job.
The attitude of university students and employees has an influence on the
institute's reputation. This also aids in the creation of a consistent and trustworthy

sources of academic misconduct involves plagiarism, cheating and professional

ï‚· Cheating- Cheating is one of the most widespread forms of academic
misconduct. Cheating occurs when someone answers a question incorrectly on
an exam or assignment. Cheating is when you pay someone else to do your
homework for you. This is frequent in universities, where some students may find
themselves unable to complete their assignments, leading them to believe that
cheating is the best alternative (Pakarinen, E and et.al., 2017). As a result, some
institutions are ready to assist students who are having difficulty with their
homework, while others prefer to cheat.
ï‚· Plagiarism- Plagiarism is when you steal someone else's work and claim it as
your own without crediting the author. Plagiarism happens when students
replicate other students' work without crediting the source and duplicating all
given material. Many universities have had to deal with plagiarism in the past. A
student plagiarises when they conclude projects by copying data and information
from other students' work without crediting the original source. Students also
commit academic fraud by failing to cite the correct author's source. Students
have been dismissed from university and their career and job prospects ruined in
similar situations.
ï‚· Professional misconduct- Professional misconduct occurs when students
commit fraud while in college, which is a violation of the code of conduct. It
teaches pupils the importance of following laws and regulations that may
influence their job opportunities after graduation (Patterson, F and et.al., 2019).
Professional misconduct may also include taking full credit and blame for
someone else's effort. Professional misconduct may also include taking exclusive
responsibility and credit for another' efforts. Others who do not believe in full
accountability for their job may struggle to appreciate the professional blunder.

ï‚· Firstly, for playing the academic integrity theme game, players must download
the game from search engines for their desktops and computers and from play
store or App Store for and mobile which are for android and apple mobile users.
ï‚· After completing in the installation of game, players can login by saving their
credentials. Players must fill their name, email address and Phone number in
order to successfully log in the game and to create their profile.
ï‚· After saving the credentials, players must select the game time as the game will
involve limited number of participants (Post, G., Visser, V. and Buis, J., 2017).
They can also select social media platform such as Facebook to connect their
game through which they can play with their friends.
ï‚· The game will be offering two options where players can either choose puzzles or
quizzes as per their interest.
ï‚· Now players must click on start I can fall starting the game.
ï‚· There will be a certain time limit for completing the game which will be displayed
on the screen and players mast stay on the same page otherwise they might lose
their progress which will not be saved.
ï‚· Players must make sure the game is played with honesty and integrity and
players are not a part of any misconduct (Rabiner, D. L., Godwin, J. and Dodge,
K. A., 2016). As this will be a live game and any participant found engaged in
unethical activity will lose and will be blocked for such practices.
ï‚· Each round will have set of 10 questions where participants are expected to
respond with correct answer by following ethical code of conduct and avoiding
any academic misconduct.

Difficulties
There were various difficulties which were encountered while making the
game. Some of the difficulties which has been faced are outlined below:
ï‚· Lack of knowledge has been one of the challenges which created the barrier in
developing the game and planning effectively. Such challenges made the whole

common decisions.
ï‚· Lack of team work and cooperation has bene another challenge which has bene

reflected lack of cooperation and communication which made us face challenge
in developing a good game.
ï‚· Adapting and implementing academic integrity standards and concepts through
which we can prevent misbehavior was one of the most complex challenges
which has been faced when building the game. This has been a challenge since
obtaining complete understanding about academic honesty has posed several
impediments to the game's development.

Developing the game during the academic year offered number o
opportunities for skill development. There are various skills which have been
developed and improved throughout the academic year. Some of the sills which has
been learned and developed while producing the game in the academic year are
stated below:
ï‚· Academic skills- This academic year has been a source for strengthening
academic skills, which has been accomplished through avoiding social media and
determining one's optimal learning style. This game's development has improved
academic abilities by scheduling study time, engaging in study groups by
arranging lectures, taking self-care breaks, and locating ideal study areas where
a positive mentality and readiness to learn more and change may be embraced.
Working on the game enhanced the skills, which helped learn more.
ï‚· Time management skills- During the game's development, a lot of emphasis
was placed on creating weekly priorities, doing regular work, and avoiding
multitasking. This helped with time management and avoiding deadlines by
finishing all tasks on time. Other ways to improve time management abilities and
fulfil all intended objectives within the set time limit included distributing duties
efficiently, arranging fruitful meetings, and engaging in experiments.

supports students in ensuring success through which they can follow these principles
throughout their lives. Academic integrity plays a crucial role in higher education as
this develops honesty, self-sufficiency, accountability, sincerity in students which can
be reflected in their efforts throughout the academic period. Academic integrity also
please valuable role for universities as this can support them in creating good
reputation. Academic integrity is based on five fundamentals which are- honesty,
fairness, accuracy, respect and responsibility. Therefore, any student can be a part
of academic misconduct by making use of different sources, such as- plagiarism,
