Business Operations & Management: A Reflective Learning Journey

This report provides a reflective account of a student's learning journey in a Business Operations and Management module across two semesters. In the first semester, the student gained foundational knowledge in areas such as operational efficiency, supply chain management, quality control policies, and human resources strategies. The reflection highlights an initial lack of familiarity with HR schemes and quality control but emphasizes the module's role in enhancing understanding of these concepts, particularly the importance of HR in problem-solving and the impact of quality control on product excellence. The second semester focused on addressing challenges encountered in the first, particularly in human resources strategies and supply chain policies. The student utilized teacher support, group studies, and personal effort to improve understanding and develop skills in team management and problem-solving. The overall experience led to increased confidence, improved time management, and a clearer understanding of business management principles, contributing to the student's future career aspirations.

INTRODUCTION
Business management, is very important to improve the performance and achieve the
target of the company effectively and efficiently. Business management is based on the
coordination in the business activities. It sees the operation and helps the employees to reach
their goals in high productivity levels. Along with is also helps the company to supervise the new
candidates and provide proper training to reaching the operational and financial objectives.
Business mangmnet is a wide range activities which analysing the day to day activities to
generate the better profit in future. To earn maximisation profits is the core aim for every
company (Abera and Mulugeta, 2018). The module of introduction related to business
management and it is the important concept of various areas of semester one, along with how
they can helps me to enhance my learning skills of semester two. Future are uncertain, so due to
dynamic business environment,companies and organisation face difficulty to manage the task in
proper manner which is related to the mangmnet. This project report is based on the reflection
related to the learning of business management. It discuss the refection of semester one which is
related to learning and information, along with its cover the challenges such as what I learning in
first semester. In addition to that, it helps to cover the knowledge which is beneficial for
improving the learning skills of the students.
REFLECTION OF SEMESTER 1
Before attending this module, I am not knowing the various concepts which is related to
the business management , but after studying this module in first semester I understand the topic
very well. It helps me to getting to display the valuable topic such operational efficiency of the
company, effective supply chain, quality control policies, human resources strategies and quality
control policies (Agarwal, 2021). In future I want to doing my dream job, I want to become CEO
in reputed and well established company, so for that job I needed a relevant knowledge and
skills. When I start to studying this modules, I am not that much familiar with Human resources
schemes and quality control policies but still this module is supporting me to enhance my
knowledge and skills to getting the essential information. In this module, I want to conscious
about the importance of Human resources sachems and I learn that how they support the
company to making the effective strategies to resolve the big problems with the people central

resolution. I also want to know about the importance and characteristics of Human resources
manger. I learn that its plays a various roles and responsibilities related to the hiring to new
candidates that manger have to attempt such as recruitment and assortment, payroll management,
certification and formalities at time of on leaving and relieving. Human resources manger handle
the various functions and strategies after choosing the right candidates such as training and
development strategies, recruitment strategies, communicator strategies and cooperation
strategies. It helps me to enhancing my existing knowledge which I can use to getting my dream
job in future (Anker, 2021).Training and development strategies support me in gaining the
information just about a needs of training which helps me to developing my learning skills. As
we know that business environment is changing quickly and it is required to understand that
disciplinary activity so that companies making effective strategic planning to minimise its
negative impact. In the next, module I study about importance of recruitment process and
importance of recruitment strategies, because it support the human resources manger to choosing
the right candidates for the right job and attracting potentiality candidate for filling vacant job
position in company. I also penetrate the outsourcing strategies which can be used for hiring the
external individual in order to accomplish the task (Xolmirzaev, Juraev and Axmadjonova,
2021). In this module, I gain my knowledge, that how I maximise the efficiency of company and
how they achieve target and objectives of an organisation. The main aim of every company is to
necessitate the wasteful activities in order to achieve company's goals in proper manner. There
are various unneeded activities which are require to cut down so that it helps the company to
generate maximize profit in future. This module are supporting me in my professional career,
While picking the lessons of this module, I have gain my knowledge about the value of quality
control policies and how they can be used to present the good quality of products and services.
In company, there should be random selection of the products in order to track quality of
product. In this policy, it should consider the quality of raw material which is the base for final
product. If the material does not maintain the standard criteria, so that it would be impact on final
product too. Organisation have to choice the right suppler who is providing the good quality raw
material along with minimum price. Before this module, I do not know the quality policy but
after studying this module it helps me in getting valuable information. Supply chain and logistics
they both are two important elements of every company and they needed to maintain balance so
that company would not face the shortage of raw material, in case of high demand. Before this

module, I was not knowing about different concepts of business such as HR manger strategies
and how it can be apply in the company and how supply chain support the company to maintain
a proper balance between demand and supply.
REFLECTION AND CONTINUDED DEVLOPMMNT OF SEMESTER-2
After completing my first semester I score good marks and get more knowledge too, but I
have face some problems regarding the topic of human resources strategies and about the supply
chain, because I am not much aware about that topic. I feel so nervous in beginning of my
semester, because I am not good in studies. I decide to taken support of my teachers, and they
provide me some notes and guide me that things I need to improve in polite manner, and like it.
They have to solve my problems and cleared my doubts which giving m,e a opportunity to get
the better job option in my future (Jena, 2020). I was facing lost of problems and difficulty in
supply chain policies. But my teacher’s instruct me properly and provide me some notes and
books for my support. After reading some of them, I feel confident because I start knowing
about the modules and I was able to clear my doubts by my own. I decide to conduct a group
study with my friends so, that we can helps each other to better understanding the modules, it
also new topic for them too (Stone, Cox and Gavin2020). We have to discussed many unclear
concepts and topic in the group study, it is beneficial for us . It was giving me a open platform to
share my views and opinions regarding this module. It also support me to learn and gaining the
team spirit and time management skill. In this module, my teachers and friend helped me to
making my learning flourishing and better. I have used my knowledge from semester one to
knowing the semester two because it creates a base for me in future development. Along with it
also support me to develop the time management skill, which I use in second semester in order
to make it more effectual. This module support me to understanding of business management.
Which I can used in my professional career to take better decision. It also teach me to handle the
grouping activities in effective manner. It becomes easier for me to maintaining the resources in
proper manner which is beneficial for the growth of the company and higher profit. By using
this gained knowledge, I will making my employees more productive by doing batter
productivity. I can using my learning skills in time management to managing my academics and
other activities in proper manner.
I was facing so many difficulties to handle and manage my study and personal life, I learn
team building spirit which I can used to managing the team sessions regarding this module. The

second skill I learn is problem solving which I can used to solving various problems which is
related to the case studies. Before this module, I fell that I am so dumb I am doing anything, but
when I start working on me I fell so confident, and know myself in better way, and then I am
able to learn this skill. Thus, knowledge and skills assist me in enhancing my understanding
about business management (Macke and Genari, 2019). As I want to become a CEO in reputed
company so, it is required to have relevant knowledge and skill and I start to working on it to
getting my dream job. Along with I found that this module I learn is helps me in future, and
operate my work and project in effective way, that helps me to contribute to improve my
knowledge. I also can use various business strategies to generate the maximize profit for
company and also giving opportunities to expand their business all over the world. It is good for
me to making a good manager. As this module assist me to increasing my knowledge about how
to maximise efficiency of the company and lowering down unnecessary cost. I have studied
various different articles regarding this topic better understanding and can be used in my
professional career. This all areas, I helps me to found business mangmnet strategies most
enjoyable as I was not much alert but when I have started taking lessons, I love this module I
start enjoying this, my curiosity are increases step-by-step. As I come to know about different
strategies which I can use in my career to gained my knowledge and enhancing my skills. I also
formulate the effective management strategy in the process to hiring the right candidate for the
right job position in the company. This topic I enjoyed it the most interesting topic for me is
business mangmnet, because it teach me that what thing I need to work on me to make a better
manager in future. It also having the various important strategies that makes me curious for
learning new skills. Before this module, I have less knowledge about the human resource
management strategies, but when started to learn and come to know about the topic, I covered
in this module, then I fell happy and enjoying to doing this. During lectures, teachers start asking
many questions, then she asked few questions for the students to knowing that, students are
understand the topic or not. I have given answers of all questions correctly and all students have
clap for me and I was so happy and confident, I feel an immense of joy. Along with the two-way
communication makes this subject more interesting . After completion this module I analysed,
that what changes are coming in my routine, that I was lacking in supply chain policies and
logistics which I need to be improve. Because it will help me in in taking better decision
regarding indefinite quantity chain demand so that organisation are not facing the shortage of

raw materials in case of high demand (Soltis, Brass and Lepak, 2018). I love this short journey
because it teach me lots of things which helps to make a batter person, also it gives me many
opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge which support me to get better job in my
future.

Conclusion
In this project report giving the reflection related to that what they learn in first and
second semester and what was their experience. From the above project report, it was concluded
that reflection which support me to enhance my knowledge and in learning content. By reflection
I express my feedback and view regarding to this module. By this module, I gain lots of
knowledge in various topics from which I was not familiar with. While writing this reflection, I
fell so happy because it help me to develop my skills and learning new things which support me
to get better opportunities in future. Reflection helped me to giving detailed overview of what I
have learned. It involves my experience, that what problems I face before staring this modules.
With reflection, I can share my content by using own words.
