Introduction
Over the years, the education structure has changed in line with the developing
community, adjusting to the needs and the circumstances of that particular epoch. The
education system is nothing like compared to the past epochs. In the nineteenth century the
global education system was founded to meet the requirements of the workers for the
assembly line during the Second Industrial Revolution rooted deeply in the American and
European ideals. The system remains unchanged till date and concentrates on competition,
tests and isolated subjects. The ideology did not meet the requirements for most students.
Then the modules were revised to suit with the modern education system. As the world
moved towards the second industrial revolution, the education system improved. Initially the
education system was purely based on spiritual preaching and religious studies and it began
home. Later, churches were the schools in which children were provided spiritual knowledge
more than scientific knowledge. The Industrial Revolution brought in major changes in the
world as hugely impacted the education system and pattern. The system was modernized and
students were provided with a comprehensive education. Science, mathematics, music and
physical education became a part of the curriculum. In certain part of Europe, university
system existed with knowledge transmitted by teachers to the students. Few schools were
private and the general mass was not allowed to attend schools and in other parts of the
Europe, education was restricted only to the elite class. Change in this system came in the
eighteen century when a scholastic code held the responsibility for education from the clergy
and assigned it to a Ministry of Education. The State was responsible for schools and colleges
to follow a well coordinated system of education. The code was quite important as it required
each and every child to attend school. The primary view was to offer basic education for
everyone and also providing resources to the children belonging to poor families.

With the development in science and technology, the education system has modified
as information is available at the snap of a finger. Technology has expanded the opportunities
for open communication and numerous collaborations. The walls of the classrooms are no
longer a barrier as technology enables new ways of learning, communicating, and working
collaboratively. In this contemporary world, technology has all the means to completely
transform the tradition methods of the education system and incorporate new ones. The
system has become, effective, transparent and flexible and catering millions of students.
Technologies have invaded places where traditional education could not make a place like in
the sub-Saharan Africa. Big giants in the market are seeking for employees with extensive
knowledge and not always seeking for a degree. As skill sets are important to deliver work as
the education system limits education to a select few. Technology has completely
transformed the education system connecting every individual to the world of education,
presenting itself with plethora of opportunities for all to succeed in this contemporary world.
Literature Review of SSM
According to Holland and Garfield (2016), Soft System Methodology (SSM) provides
a method to deal with complex contemporary problems in enterprises, management systsm
and the policies setting with the premise that enterprises are an open system interacting with
their surroundings. Soft System Methodology identifies the nature of the problem and the
form it takes: unstructured, involvement of people with dissimilar opinions and perspective
about the course of the problem, methods to address the problem and achieve the goals set.
The method provides a mean to reflect and understand the situation of the problem. It can be
stated that SSM enables a wholesome understanding of all the problem for the improvement
of the condition through a comparison of the worldly system is and worldly system might be.
A hard system method would become difficult to implement within an ill-defined problem

situation where stakeholders are mostly unsure of the finer details of the working system.
The author mentions the original seven stages of SSM that are used to get a problem
resolved. The stages are broadly described. The first stage is to consider the problem
situation. Second step involves expressing the problem situation and third step is to find root
definitions of relevant systems. Fourth stage: conceptual models of the systems named in the
root definitions. The next step or stage compares the models and the real world. The sixth
stage involves changes that are systemically desirable and culturally feasible. Finally the last
stage discusses about the action to improve the problem condition.
According to Pereira et al. (2015), the implementation of SSM as a common tool for
problem solving and decision making in the manufacturing sector has important uses.
Simulation projects has 3 distinct phases, they are conception, implementation and lastly
analysis. The authors present the significant role of soft system methodology (SSM) a
complex problem-solving proposition used during the stages of simulation studies. The
conceptual stage is an important phase and requires undivided attention. Soft system
methodology (SSM) is used extensively in the conceptual modeling phase of manufacturing
simulation study. The SSM approach aids in avoiding reworks and errors. The authors have
used SSM to understand and justify the application by presenting a valid demonstration of the
model which has the capability to analyze the key input variables. The stages of the SSM
approach are used to carefully analyze the problem at each level of the stimulation stage and
finally arriving at a relevant solution for the problem. SSM approach defines the system and
the purpose of the system before it designs the structure of the system. The approach helps to
look for ideal systems that provide the effective path to achieve a set of goals. The approach
suggests methods to induct changes to the existing system and not represent the existing ones.

According to Checkland (2013), the uses of soft systems methodology (SSM) in
tackling complex problems that all managers frequently face at all stages in the working
environment are immense. The author discuses the ideology of SSM used and the stages
which is applied in problem solving. The concept of soft system methodology is founded on
systems ideas and approach which is not in the most conventional sense where it is usually
used in those. The SSM module helps to achieve the desired goals and solutions to the
problem and meet the declared objectives. The author describes various instances which has
leaded the managers use the SSM approach to identify and solve a complex problem in the
company. The stage level approach of SSM helps in better understanding of the problem and
decides on the action need to be taken to resolve the problem. In case of complex issues at the
managerial level, the SSM aids in finding new solutions and improvise changes. The author
discusses the origin of SSM approach and the modification it had it the previous years. The
seven stages involved in SSM approach breaks the understanding to come up with a reliable
and relevant solution.
Authors Wilson and Van Haperen (2015) link soft system methodology with the
management of change. The author discuss about their experience as an engineer and how
the SSM approach helped in solving majority of the management issues they faced. The
seven level approach of soft system methodology eases out the problem solving method and
decision making problem. Each stage of the SSM model provides significant insight about the
issue at hand. The first stage is to find out the problem by observation or by conducting
workshops where the organizational actors express the problems that are encountered by
them. The next stage is to express the problem situation. Third step involves deriving root
definitions of relevant systems, when deriving the root definition, CATWOE (Customer,
Actors, Transformation, Weltanschhaung, Owner, Environment) model is put into use. The
CATWOE model asks the important questions that help in getting the root definition. The

process sometime works in a circle, redefining inputs and outputs and finally deriving a
definition from the defined input-output. Step four is to derive conceptual model to analyze
the activities and step five compares the conceptual model with the real world. Step six
involves analyzing desirable and feasible changes and lastly the seventh step involves taking
action by analyzing the previous stages. Multiple perspectives are included in this approach
in order to make proper decision.
According to the authors Lewis et al. (2016), soft system methodologies has universal
use can be also be used in the study of Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children. The
authors used the SSM approach as guideline to study the case of Autism spectrum disorder
(ASD) in a nine year old child. The therapist used a teleoperated NAO to develop games
which aims to improve the prosocial behavior in ASD patients. The SSM approach was used
to get undivided comprehension of the subject and the problem at hand. The research showed
evidence refinement in the behavior of the child and in the applied methodology. Co-robot
therapy has incremental benefit and has proven to improve behavior patterns in autism
patients.

is quickly replacing manual work for over a decade now. From the beginning of the industrial
revolution, automation has been constantly replacing manual labor and making work easy for
humans. It was working well until automation started entering and eating up white collar
jobs. Robots are gradually invading the work place and will soon replace most of the white
collar jobs. Robots are more accurate in developing software and running them with zero

error and lags. Robots are believed to take over administrative jobs. Already the approach can
be seen at banks, as certain automated machines has reduced work force and enhanced
productivity. The work environment becomes more mechanized and the human touch is lost.
Work supplied at the end of the day is hundred percent accurate and each and every minor to
major issues are resolved. To know the answer of these questions, the authors ask few
question related to the topic of discussion. The questions are, one, are the robot real. Second
the actual need for these robots. Performance rate and the intelligence rate of the robots is the
third question and fourth, how quickly are these robots will replace jobs in a large scale. The
answer to these questions will determine the flow of robotic work in the work place.
According to Cameron (2017), there is a high probability of robots taking over jobs in
the next decade. The process of job overtaking has already started and over the next years,
there will be a high percentage of robots working and replacing human. The outlook for a
prosperous future for the global community generously powered by imagination and hard
work advanced the human race from the primitive time to the modern age of technology. The
advent of the internet has connected the world had made it to small place where information
and resources are available quickly. Technology has erased the broad disparities and has
bound this community for a common goal. The constant development of technology has led
to automation of work and significant replacement of the human work force by robots. There
is high chance of hundred percent replacements of the work force which included both blue
collar and as well as white collar jobs. Robots have lifted the burden from the human
shoulders significantly and have delivered unprecedented prosperity. The complexity of the
design and the mind of the robots will leave less room for work load. The robots are given a
mind of its own to conduct itself and make complex decision. Soon the world will have an
automated work force.

invested by schools and other institutions on technology with high hopes to improve and
modernize the educational culture. Technology has greatly affected the educational outcomes
in the recent decade. Investment on information and communications technology in schools
and colleges has modified the education culture. Computer aided instruction (CAI) and the
use of computers at home have ambiguous implications for educational achievement:
expenditures devoted to technology necessarily offset inputs that may be more or less
efficient, and time allocated to using technology may displace traditional classroom
instruction and educational activities at home. Technology is a forced multiplier for teachers.
The use of technology has helped the students to get access to information in a minute. Easy
access of information from anywhere and at any time has made education easy. Technology
has made education even after the school bell rings for the day. Online tutorials made it easier
for students to get access to knowledge even when they are working. Studies of CAI and ICT
in schools and colleges produce mixed bag of evidence with a motif of null results.
Noteworthy exceptions to this particular motif take place in the studies of developing
economies and CAI interventions which target mathematics rather than the language.

development in technology, there has been a revolution in education. Technology has brought

out from the traditional method and introduced the digital system in education. The digital
module of education has benefited many and promise to bring about more advantages. The
use of technology in education has drawn criticism from all over the globe. Some agree to the

education. Introduction of technology in education has made individuals to rethink the
process of learning, motivation, career goals, educational leadership and lastly the role of the
government in bringing about the change. The core focus of using technology in education
lies with how well kids of this generation are using it to their benefit. Parents play a
significant role in adopting the use of technology in education.

decade, there has been globalization in the education policy both at the regional and as well
as in the international level. Globalization has empirical effects on education policy.

encouragement for the researches to base policies of education. Education system has
improved considerably in numerous regions of the world and the traditional methods of
studies have also evolved with globalization and technology. Global governance of education
has developed a significant link between the government or state and education.

The Rich picture demonstrates the traditional method of education. Students are
physically attending schools and learning in the traditional way. The model has several
drawbacks. For any kind of weather condition, rain hail or storm, there is a chance for
students missing out school and thus missing on any important classes. Even if there is a
transport problem, students miss out on school. In case of serious physical ailments, students
miss out long days at school which hampers their education thus resulting in bad grades.
Considering the case of the country side where access to transportation is hard and schools
are way too far from the residential areas, the students of that area faces severe problem in
attending school in case if there is climatic condition or transportation problem. Keeping up
with the school curriculum becomes hard. The school might not have the course that a
