Environment

Summary
Several kind of organisations are in existence which are
having own management and legal structure to pursue their
work. Public, private and voluntary organisation mainly
counted in these which are given in the slides. These
organisations are having a difference in the size and scope
according to their work. Marks & Spencer, Monsoon and
St. Andrew are example of these organisations which are
briefly explained in the presentation.

Introduction
Business environment is a surrounding in which a firm opera
tes its functions over their, it have internal and external envir
onment both can affect business so it is essential to take care
of both. Business should study about environment properly s
o that they can achieve success, as because there are many th
ings which will have to be focused and studied well to impro
ve the condition of busine-ss environment to run organisatio
n smoothly.

Different types and purpose of organisation
Organisation can be ruined in different ways, various people own
different kinds of business according to their choice and income. The
y have different aspects, some starts for profit earning and some to ju
st survive and the other for non profit. There are some different kind
s of business which are followed below:
Public Sector.
Private Sector.
Voluntary Sector.

Public Sector
It is run and owned by government to the people, this major
ly established to help and provide facilities to people. Gove
rnment collect taxes from people and than some of that taxe
s are used to build up public companies.
For example- Mark and Spencer is multinational retailer, it is
a public owned company they are mainly they provides clot
hing, home products, luxury food products. Main aim to M
ark and Spencer is to provide better quality cloths to all age
s people according to their choices, and avail new kind prod
ucts and better luxury foods to all kinds of customers.

Private Sector
This sector is owned and run by some private individuals, thi
s companies are not owned by public company.
For example- Monsoon is a private Ltd company which operates
clothing retails, it is a private company so it can do what ever they
want in their firm and can fix prices of their cloths which they
provide according to their wish. It is owned by peter simon and
now they are providing cloths and accessories also.

Voluntary group
This works on non profitable basis and they do not work to earn
mo-ney it is a kind of social services to people, this is done to he
lp peop-le and provide them services for their betterment. It does
not owne-d by a individual there are numbers of people who are
working behi-nd this business.
For example- St. Andrew's health is a voluntary organisation, they
provide help to people which have illness such as brain injury, di
sability, mental problems, etc.

Size and scope of different types of organisation
All organisation have different size and scope and they have to
main-tain that to achieve success in market, all business are not
same they all have differences and as because of these differenc
es they have to work for it in various ways. There different kind
s of business such as
Public Sector.
Private Sector.
Voluntry groups.

Public Sector
It is owned and run by government, this is mainly works for pu
blic they produce products and services which will be beneficia
l for public.
Size- In Mark and Spencer there are approx 82,904 employees wo
rking and and they earn approx 404.4 million. And they have di
fferent stores over different places.
Scope- they want to provide best services to public so that they ca
n get benefits from the schemes and things which they provides
to them.

Private Sector
It is a company which is owned by some individual persons and th
ey h-ave to run it by there own they are not connected to any gov
ernment au-thorities, all the profits and loss which they gets ann
ually in their organisation, whatever it comes profit or loss that i
s there responsibility. Mission of the sector is to sell more and m
ore products and services. Vision of this sector is to earn maxim
um profit and to have competitive advantage in market area.
Size- Monsoon has approx 1001 to 5000 employees working over
their, and they have approx $100 to $500 million revenue per
year.
Scope- They want to provide more clothing and accessories to all
the different age groups people so that they can be able to get
success in market and attract more people to achieve success.
