INTRODUCTION
Planning your career in business simply defined as the steps or strategies utilized by an
individual to learn and incorporate various skills and knowledge. With the proper usage of these
inherited person may able to determine their goals as well as create such path for achieving those
goals. With the proper career planning tends to aid an individual in getting to know about various
different types of opportunities that maybe achieved. The report shows about the self assessment
of skills gap inclusive of SWOT analysis. Along with that analysis also provides details
regarding development of Action plan towards the skill development.

Self Assessment reflecting skill gaps
SWOT analysis is basically defined as the strategy or tool utilized by any individual for
getting to know about various skills (SWOT Analysis, 2022). As, it most likely to provide
information regarding what are the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats any person
posses. Along with that being able to develop various strategies which tend to provide assistance
in achieving of personal and organizational goals. It also helps in increasing the efficiency and
effectiveness while working and coming up with plans to overcome weakness and threats.
Strengths Weakness
Leadership Skill: With the usefulness of this
skill most likely to help in every aspect of
career (Кudarova, Aubakirova and Anesova,
2019). This is basically helps in applying for
jobs for having a career advancement. Not just
that but it also, provide assistance in building
and effectively manage strong teams while
working in an organization. Along with that
skill tend to provide aid in effect fully leading
a group of individual so that may able to
achieve goals. In addition, also helps in
increasing other skills like brainstorming and

weakness majorly aims to provide information
regarding not being able to deliver out the
correct information to the team. This also tend
to reduce the effectiveness as well as
efficiency. Having such weakness leads
towards majorly decrease working and
operating. By this means not being able to
deliver out the best performance and main
motive to towards the target audience.

Critically Thinking: With the proper
utilization of this skill tends to provide
guidance in more and effective decision-
making. Apart from that also provide
assistance in increasing as well as promoting
curiosity. By effectively using such skill
encourages self reflection as, to see all the
challenges and problems with different vision
and also coming up with new ideas for
resolving them. Most of the critical thinkers
may tend to change their minds and all the
opinions in accordance of information they see
or get. Along with that by enhancing skill most
likely aims to provide focus regarding the new
idea generation and innovation too. Like
whenever there is any requirement in any
company person with high and effective
critical thinking may provide solution with
innovating or newly idea generating.
Management Skills: Another major strength
which is basically required in self assessment
(Carpenter and et.al., 2019). Having impactful
management skill most likely to provide
assistance in the identification of goals,
planning about them and effectively working
according to that. Having such skill most likely
to provides help in effectively managing group
of people as well as also provides assistance in
getting various feedbacks, decision-making
and work according to that for the purpose of

Communication: Another weakness that I
have which required to be solved for
improving on regular or daily basis. While
having this as weakness focus on result in
creating misunderstandings as well as various
conflicts while working in any group. Apart

required to be under the major consideration
as, by enhancing skill tends to help in
effectively functioning (Puscas, Kogan and
Holmboe, 2021). By fully empowering such
skill most likely to provide major aim in
reducing being dependent on others. Not just
that but also helps in reducing the time being
put on inheriting or learning about any specific
topic or context. Not just that but focusing and
improving such skill also lead towards in
solving any problem which may arise in such
little less to no time. Not just that, but also
provides help in getting ready for being more
adaptable towards the changes which may tend
to happen at workplace too.
Team working: With having as threat
resulting in not being able to effectively work
with others. Also, leads to failure while
working on project with fellow mates resulting
in having many conflicts. Apart from that also
may tend to provide with negative results and
decrease in the reputation too. As, it also leads
to decrease in the morale as well as not being
able to effectively work and giving out the
best.
Other being more skilled: Another major
threat which I required to be put under
consideration with having someone more skill
full. Being a threat results is choosing someone
else which may tend to have more experience,
skills as well as knowledge. Which may tend to
provide the company with more effectiveness
in the working as well as coming up with new
ideas and profit enhancement.

Tailoring of action plan for skill development
An action plan is basically termed as the strategy utilized by any individual that most
likely to provide assistance in accomplishing the specific goals (How To Write an Action Plan To
Achieve Your Goals, 2022). As, under this process an individual may able to improve or enhance
the skills and knowledge with effectively working on them under some specific time period. It
most likely to help in identifying, creating and enhancing some specific way for the goal
achievement. Along with that also helps in effectively functioning and working on the several
areas for improvement with investing skills into working. As, under this we majorly aim at:
1. Creating SMART goals: Defining and setting some certain parameters which most likely to
provides assistance in achievement of goal within certain time frame. These include:
Specific: Under this basically focus on having the target specific for the goal or target
achievement (Valentina and et.al., 2019). Not just that but making goal more, narrow or may be
termed as specific for the purpose effective planning and working on the skills. As, under this
also focus on highlighting steps which I required to be made for goal achievement. Along with
that using specific strategies or methods for making clear about the target.
Measurable: This majorly aims to make track the progress and effectively measure that
to the actual performance. Along with that having different evidence which I most likely to
provide details regarding the goal completion or skill enhancement.
Achievable: Process which most likely to provide knowledge regarding choosing target
or skills which can be achievable (Urbani, 2020). As, setting up reasonable goal is crucial for
improving and being able to work on skills. Along with that making sure about being able to
develop skills under the certain time frame.
Relevant: It shows about the skills enhancing or improving being aligned as well as
valued for being realistically achievable. It also most likely to provide the information regarding
goal being within reach according to the limited or certain time span given.
Time Based: Setting up of skills enhancement under some certain time limits for the
purpose of motivating and improvement. As, the targets or goals become irrelevant if not being
under some time boundaries.

2. Creating list of actions: For the purpose of enhancing and developing the skills required to
create list of tasks or several actions (Grainger, 2020). Under this focusing on dividing of main
goal into various sub-parts and separately working on each one. For example, for the purpose of
improving my communication skill, action taken in terms of why it is required for improvement
and then dividing that into sub-division so that easily work on it. Along with that also making
sure that the actions done, being attainable and related towards the main target objective. Not just
that, but focusing and interpreting those actions to particular skills improvement and daily
focusing.
3. Setting up Time Span: Majorly focusing on setting up the time frame under which planning
and going to enhance the skills (Murata and et.al., 2020). This basically helps in creating such
timeline through which follow, focus and maintain the progress in accordance. Also, most likely
to provides the information regarding how much time needed to complete the, each and every
item on the list. For example, improving the presentation skill, time span given shows 30 to 35

days. So, under this time period I mostly every-day trying and practising for improving the skill
as well as, keeping a keen record on daily updation or enhancement for the betterment. Not just
that but also tracking the consistent progress towards the goal or target achievement.
4. Allocating resources or approaches: As, under this process majorly aims to provide the
focus on allocating as well as utilizing the resources for enhancing the skills. Taking various
steps or actions for the effectively and efficiently with using various resources for me to increase
the effectiveness and enhancing the skills. For Example, enhancing the team working skill I
required to adapt or take the approach of effectively and willingly to be under some certain team.
Getting to know about all providing ideas and provide assistance in the working results in
increasing the skill. Not just that but also with daily communicating with other people and team
members too also, helps in improving on a large level.
5. Monitoring: The last step of the plan tends to aim at tracking, checking and monitoring the
progress (Zitkus and et.al., 2018). Under this I majorly focus on ensuring about each task in
action plan most likely to be completed or achieved at the specific time period given. Also, get
specific clear vision and idea about the progress for the skill development and enhancement.
Specifying the measures and utilized for monitoring the plan's regular progress and tasks
completion. For Example, after the enhancing all the skills last step in monitoring and evaluating
that advancement. Under that also checking about how more can be developed, comparison of
previous one with the new one.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that, Planning your career is an important
aspect in the terms of achieving targets and effective working. With the proper assessment career
planning an individual may able to enhance skills, self assessment and being able to come up
with new plans and strategies for achieving them. The report delivers detail regarding the self
assessment which tends to provide information regarding skills gaps with the usage of SWOT
analysis. Also, the report shows about the making and generation of Action plan towards the skill
development, reflected with the help of SMART objectives.
