In the present environment where COVID19 pandemic hit the whole world overall economy,
personal as well as personal life of individuals across the whole world suffer. Online or digital
platform in this era plays very essential role which creates value to large number of small and
medium size business entity. There are some academic courses which are conducted online by
the education centre so that people can easily learn by sitting anywhere in the world. In this
report, Lucy Gough is a London-based lady decided to launch an online interior design course.
The report includes discussions about the work done by Lucy Gough in order to conduct the
business operations through online platforms. There are some issues and problems arise while
conducting the online learning courses of interior designing. Furthermore, it also includes some
solution strategies which help in overcoming the situation in an effective manner.
Summary of the assignment
The present assignment is based on a case study which is on Lucy Gough who started an
online course in the field of interior designing. The present report or assignment is based on the
case study which says that in this pandemic people start using online platform in fastest manner
as it assist them in learning and exploring new things in specific period of time. This assignment
help in identifying the long term sustainability and viability of the business where they provide
online interior designing courses to the people. As per the given case study it has been identified
that Lucy Gough wants to start an online interior design course which finally started in the
lockdown which was started in the first few months of the year due to COVID 19. This course
attract around 112 students from the places like Canada and Poland. According to Ms. Gough
this is one of the best sources of income for her and is able to give enough time to her family.

pandemic hit the whole world. It has been analysed that Ms Gough is just one from thousands of
the people across the world who have developed an online course after following outbreak of the

COVID19. Thanks to this situation of pandemic where e-learning platforms currently
experiencing huge demand in the lockdown as people opt various courses through digital and
online platforms. Apart from the benefits there are some problems faced by the business entity in
order to start their operations digitally. In the present case study where Ms. Gough started an
online course for people who are interested in interior designing. Large number of people enrol
themselves for this course. Apart from this, there are some people want to cancel the services and
for this they need to face a lengthy process. This is one of the major issue faced by people where
they want to cancel the course due to some reasons. There is various cases seen where people
face issues and problems in order to cancel the services. For instance, Jonathan Little a 26 year
old boy decided to enrol himself for a 14-day free trial course of a graphic design through Shaw
Academy. It is an online learning platform where people came to improve their skills so Jonathan
decided to take free trial in order to improve his skills and knowledge. After sometimes,
Jonathan seems dissatisfied with the course and decided to cancel it. According to him this is one
of the most incredibly convoluted as well as I feel it is impossible to cancel the course. This
whole incident bring negative image for me where it becomes difficult to trust any other online
courses in near future. This is one of the biggest problem faced by people while providing online
courses.
Impact of potential strategy solutions
In order to such issues and problems faced by individuals while opting online classes in
order to learn new things and improve their skills and knowledge. Online courses have their
benefits and in the present pandemic situation electronic learning platforms experience huge
benefits and advantages. People adopt and explore various new courses which assist them in
order to enhance their learning and skills. As per the above stated problem, it is said that people
face issues while cancelling the course which needs to be solve by them in an effective manner.
It is essential to develop some strategies by the management team of the business who provide
online courses through digital platform which can resolve the issues in an effective and
appropriate way. For this taking feedback from customers on a regular basis is quite essential and
provide them satisfaction so they can stay with them for longer period of time. Along with this,
they need to reduce the steps or lengthy process of cancelling the course so they can easily
cancel the services if they don’t want to take the course. In addition to this, it is also very
necessary for the people who started online or digital courses taking all the issues personally and

overall outcome in an adverse manner. Furthermore, by using affective strategies all these
problems can be resolved such as resolving the issue of customer while cancelling the course.
