Case Study
AI Summary
This assignment presents an Event-Driven Process Chain (EPC) diagram for a business process case study. The EPC diagram, a key tool in business process management, is used to illustrate the control flow of the business process. The assignment details the components of an EPC diagram, including events, functions, AND, OR, and XOR operators, organizational units, control flow, process paths, organizational unit assignments, information resources, and information flow. It explains how these elements work together to represent a process. The assignment then provides the EPC diagram itself, visually representing the case study's process flow. This analysis allows for identifying improvement areas and efficient resource utilization. The document is a valuable resource for understanding and applying EPC diagrams in business process management.

Prepare an EPC diagram for the Case Study
Event driven process chain diagram represent the control flow structure of business
process. It helps in creating high value of products and process to utilise resources in effective
manner. In order to design EPC planning needs to be done. It is useful in identifying
improvement areas and eliminating them. There are many elements in EPC diagram that are as
follows :-
Event – It describes a function or process.
Function- it represent the transformation from initial to resulting state
AND operator- It corresponds to activating all paths in control flow concurrently.
OR operator – it corresponds to one or more path in control flow
XOR operator – It makes decision in path in several control flows
Organisational unit- it represent which company is performing that function.
Control flow – It shows the flow within functions, process, etc. in chronological manner.
Process path – It describes the connection between two processes.
Organisation unit assignment – it represents the connection between one organisational unit
and its function.
Information resource- In the objects that can be used to serve data in real world are included.
The output data is produced by function.
Information flow – it shows the connection between functions and input/ output of data.
