AI Summary
This assignment delves into Business Process Management through a case study analysis. It focuses on understanding and creating an EPC (Event-driven Process Chain) diagram to represent the business processes. The assignment covers the elements of an EPC diagram, including events, functions, operators (AND, OR, XOR), organizational units, control flow, process paths, organizational unit assignments, and information resources. The goal is to visually represent the flow of processes and data within the case study, enabling the identification of potential areas for improvement and optimization. The assignment includes a visual representation of the EPC diagram, demonstrating the application of these elements in a practical scenario. This solution is available on Desklib, a platform designed to provide students with the tools and resources they need for their studies.

Prepare an EPC diagram for the Case Study
An EPC diagram represents the overall business process through a flowchart. Usually, it
is used to reduce use of resources and time in delivery of products or services. In order to
develop an EPC diagram effective planning is required. This is done by identifying process weak
areas and improving them. There are many elements in EPC diagram that are as follows :-
Event – It describes a function or process.
Function- it represent the transformation from initial to resulting state
AND operator- It corresponds to activating all paths in control flow concurrently.
OR operator – it corresponds to one or more path in control flow
XOR operator – It makes decision in path in several control flows
Organisational unit- it describe which person or business in that structure is performing a
specific function.
Control flow – It shows the flow within functions, process, etc. in chronological manner.
Process path – It describes the connection between two processes.
Organisation unit assignment – it represents the connection between one organisational unit
and its function.
Information resource- In the objects that can be used to serve data in real world are included.
The output data is produced by function.
Information flow – it shows the connection between functions and input/ output of data.
The EPC diagram of case study is described below :-
