Introduction
Business process management (BPM) is a kind of punishment in operation management where
the customers use various methods and techniques in order to analyze, enhance and optimize
business processes effectively. It may be differentiated from program management in which the
management team is concerned with controlling a group of interdependent projects [1].
Managing the business process in the companies is a major problem that can be handled and
managed using BPM that has the ability to reduce complexity from the systems. The purpose of
this editorial is to explore the significance of BPM in the area of business communities. In which
a paper will be elaborated based on the BPM. This research is divided into various sections
including the content of the paper, methods used, and findings of the paper and so on.
Content of the paper
The title of the chosen paper is Business process management and IT management: The missing
integration that was provided by Fatemeh and other researchers in the year 2016 [1]. The key
goal of this paper is to explore the concept behind BPM and their importance in the companies.
According to the researchers, information technology mainly offers large numbers of chances to
the companies for notifying, transforming and automation their commercial. A business process
is able to link commercial plan to the company’s IT capabilities. The authors examined that
process enforcement technologies hold the ability to deliver the missing middle in order to
reduce the issues occurred in the companies [2]. The significance of business processes in
contemporary companies has also provided rise to BPM as management technologies that ensure
continuous optimization of the business process in the companies. In the last five years,
numerous papers were published and identified that BPM plays a crucial character in the
companies as it is able to identify the risk factors from the systems and improve the effectiveness
of the business process [3]. The authors argued that business process management is the best
strategy that can be implemented in the companies in order to enhance the effectiveness of the
developed systems. In this research, the investigators evaluated the integration of business
process management and IT management features used in the companies. BPM is a kind of
management strategy that utilizes various methods and techniques for coordinating all aspects of
the development process and implementation strategies. The researchers also included diagrams

and charts for better analyzing the concept of BPM and IT management and also reviewed the
gaps that occurred in the previous studies [4]. The conducted literature appraisal aided the
writers to understand the opinions of previous authors related to BPM and identified the purpose
of BPM in the companies. The researchers included a case study based on the business process
management and observed that the companies require a platform for improving the business
process effectively. Information technology as a commercial enabler noises for consecutive and
mutual additions at operational and strategic preparation heights.
Research methodologies
The term research methodology is defined as the strategy which an author has devised for
gathering the effective data connected to the investigation concerns. It is the major part of the
investigation that delivers a platform to handle the quality of the research and reduce the issues
faced by the researchers. There are numerous methods included in the research methodology, for
example, research approach, data gathering techniques, data analysis and evaluation and so on.
In this paper, the authors used all these kinds of methods while conducting the investigation [5].
Research design
In which the authors adopted qualitative design as the selected topic is subjective in nature for
which it is capable to maintain the effectiveness of the investigation. It is examined that
qualitative design has the capability to provide theoretical information relevant to the business
process management [6]. The developed methodology provided better opportunities to the
researchers and reduced the gaps between the information and research concerns. Using the
selected design the authors were able to develop the effective structure and hypothesis about the
business process management.
Research strategy
The authors used the appropriate strategy in the research which supported for developing and
implementing the effective structure of the research. The authors also conducted a literature
review and gathered the relevant data from the previous studies. It helped for understanding the
significance of the BPM in the area of business communities. A case study is also used by the
authors to analyze the key characteristics of the business process management. Therefore, the

developed structure reduced problems from the research and managed the flow of content in the
entire investigation.
Research approach
There are major two parts of the research approach including deductive and inductive that
maintain the quality of the investigation. In which, the scholars used an only the inductive type
of method because of their capability to reduce the problems and recover the efficiency of the
investigation [7]. The major characteristic of the inductive approach is that it helps the authors
for developing reliable hypotheses and concepts related to business process management.
Data collection method
The researchers used both primary and secondary methods in order to gather the facts and data
relevant to business process management. Mainly, the primary data was gathered through case
stud and interviews conducted with the participants while the secondary data was obtained
through literature review and previous articles based on the business process management [8].
Therefore, using such kinds of methods the researchers are able to solve the questions that
occurred in the study and achieved the aims of the study.
Data analysis
It is the main portion of the investigation that provides reliable and real consequences of the
investigation and the authors used descriptive content analysis due to their larger ability to
analyze the collected data. Mainly, the content analysis method helped the authors for finding
better outcomes of the study and also reduced the gaps in the study [9]. Therefore, it is evaluated
the used methods are effective and appropriate for this research that managed the quality of the
investigation and helped for achieving the goals of this study.
Findings and results of the article
The researchers found that business process management is an effective strategy that can reduce
the problems and challenges occurred in the systems and also improve the business process
effectively [10]. This paper shows a comparative study in the context of BPM and IT
management by which the readers can analyze the reputation of BPM in the companies. The
authors found that IT as a business enabler calls for reciprocal and sequential integration at
operational and strategic planning levels.

Issues highlighted in the paper
It is observed that improving the business process is a major problem faced by companies that
may affect the performance of the developed systems. The authors highlighted that there are
various problems occurred in the business communities including IT-related risks, security issues
and so on that can be managed using effective plans and business process management [11]. In
the context of information technology security is a major issue due to which the companies are
suffering from the data breach and other issues but BPM and IT management both are effective
approaches that can manage such issues in the workplace [12].
Conclusion of the paper
The authors concluded that the utilization of business process management and IT management
may help companies for improving the business process. This paper analyzed and evaluated the
importance of BPM and also explored the findings of recent articles based on the BPM. The
authors conducted a literature review that provided depth examination related to the BPM and
reduced the gaps from the research study. The adopted methodologies helped for finding better
results of the study and supported the authors for achieving the goals of the investigation.
Therefore, it is described that the chosen broadside is pertinent to the business process
management which is the topic of the unit and also provided depth examination in the BPM and
IT management.
Conclusion
From this investigation, it can be concluded that the companies can develop and implement
business process management in the workplace as it helps for improving the business process by
addressing complex problems. The selected article provided each and every point in the area of
BPM and IT management and also reviewed the viewpoints of participants. Moreover, this study
analyzed and identified the research methods used in the paper and issues highlighted by the
authors. Therefore, it is recommended that the companies should adopt BPM and IT
management strategies in the companies for improving the performance of the systems.
