a) Benefits and Shortcomings of BPM vs BPR
There are many benefits that BPM as well as BPR servers to the organizations they are
used in for conducting the business process. The advantages and the disadvantages that the BPR
and BPM gives are stated below in the table.

are used in the system.

With BPM diagram, the risk that is associated is

In BPR, the change is not continuous. The
changes in BPR takes radically. Changes only
occur when there is a big change.

not actually needed in the reengineering model of
business.
At a time, more process takes place together. With BPR, only one process takes place at a
particular time.
The model of BPM is less expensive. The model of BPR is more expensive.
Advantages and disadvantages of BPM:

Advantages: Agility is one of the process that BPM modelling service to a business. This
helps the organization to state all the respond related to opportunities of the organization and
respond to the threats that are included in the real time system. With the help of BPM, the
customer involved in the business gets the product quickly from the organization. The working
process of the organization gets faster by implementing the BPM in the organization. The
feedback of the organization can be capitalized for developing the next product or they can get
feedback on any type of upgrade the product needs to implement. BPM have transparency
helping to state the working process as well as state the working procedure in each step of the
process and use of technology in the organization. With BPM, communication in the
organization gets easier and working efficiency of the product also increases.
Disadvantages: The disadvantages that model of BPM have when implemented is
sometimes with the BPM model, the project fails. The changes that occurs in the organization
because of BPM effects on customer as well as on the workers.
Advantages and disadvantages of BPR:
Advantages: The advantages that reengineering model have on business process helps to
identify all such wastes that are actually not needed in the organization. BPR helps to eliminate
the extra steps in a process as well as removes the extra workers or items that are not actually
needed in the organization. The reengineering model helps an employee to encourage in their
work and encourage worker’s participation in the process. The carrying cost of the business
process is reduced by using BPR modelling as it cuts down unnecessary steps in a process. It
works with advanced technology and thus saves money for the organization.

Disadvantages: There are many disadvantages as well that BPR includes specially related
to technology. The technologies that are to be used by the business process using BPR are
always to be updated. The BPR model will not work when the technologies are not updated. As
BPR process is a costly process, it cannot be used by all the organizations. The workers
associated with the business can also sometimes cannot adapt the changes in BPR diagram. if the
team is not assisted properly, there might be a failure in the working system.
b) Phases of BPM discarded by BPR
Three phases are not used in reengineering modelling of business process that are used in
management model of business process. Modelling, optimizing as well as monitoring are the
three phases that are not used in BPR. In reengineering modelling, there is no particular way to
achieve the objective of the project. The processes can be customized accordingly. The phases
that reengineering model encounters are planning phase, implementation phase, as well as design
phase. Processes in BPR are actually not monitored in the program.
c) Combination of BPR and BPM
With the combination of the BPM as well as BPR, the business process in an organization
each of the process is used as a substitute. This adds value to the organization and helps in

3) Intermediate BPMN
3.1. Explanation
The BPMN diagram in this context taken is a process of handling complaint of the
customers. This helps to handle the process of customer complaint. There is a sub-process that is
shown in the outer process in the BPMN diagram. The sub process runs in a loop till the timers
turns off.

In the sub system, complaints are checked. The complaints checking has two processes
connected with exclusive or. With exclusive gateway, the complaints are either responds and the
other way if the complaint is not responded, the complaint is terminated after two hours. The
