Introduction
The term BPM refers to discipline in operation sector where consumers utilize numerous
kinds of method of analyses and optimize the business processes. Mainly, business process
management focuses on the overall performance of an organization and provide a platform to
the companies for controlling their businesses in an effective way (Lehnert, Linhart, and
Röglinger, 2014). The major objective of this research is to evaluate the fundamental
principle of BPM and describe their importance in the business industries. For well
sympathetic, the features of BPM a paper will be reviewed which are "Chopping Down Trees
vs. Sharpening the Axe – Balancing the Development of BPM Capabilities with Process
Improvement”. The outline of this research report includes several units, such as the meaning
of the paper, study methodologies, results of the paper, concerns identified by the authors and

The intention of the paper
This article was written by three authors that includes Martin Lehnert, Alexander Linhart and
Maximilian Roglinger. The intention of this paper is to evaluate the key aspects of business
process management and compare chopping down trees and sharpening process used in the
growth of BPM (Lehnert, Linhart, and Röglinger, 2014). According to the authors, the BPM
is defined as the BPM which is the best approach from the perspective of commercial

measurement. As compared with this paper Röglinger, Pöppelbuß, and Becker, (2012) also
highlighted the advantages and limitations of the business process management which helped
the readers for improving their skills in the area of BPM. The researchers also identified that
BPM is a science of overseeing how work is achieved in the companies to safeguard constant
and effective outcomes.
Vom Brocke, Zelt, and Schmiedel, (2016) also compared the results of other papers and
evaluated that BPM process includes numbers of activities in the companies and communities
which involves, the definition, monitoring and controlling process, modelling,
implementation process, and executions of plans (Weske, 2012). However, it is argued that
the BPM is directly relevant to the capability development scheme which is produced on the
source based opinions and dynamic ability theory (Mendling, et al., 2018). A source-based
view identified that capabilities in the organization are a kind of potential for performing a
coordinated set of a task to achieve the objectives of the business. Moreover, dynamic theory
analysed that the term capabilities development is divided into major two parts, for example,
operational and dynamic capabilities. In this research article, the researchers also described
the decision model along with the evaluation process that provided complete information

The investigators investigated the fundamental principle of BPM and analysed BPM
capabilities. For analysing the significance of business process management, the authors
developed a decision model which evaluated BPM scheduled projects. From this paper, it is
concluded that the BPM is an appropriate approach for improving the performance of the
business in the organizations. The authors also show the role of BPM in the business sectors
and argued that the decision model does not meet all the requirement of companies for which
management can adopt BPM approach.

From the above observation, it is concluded that BPM has the capability for enhancing the
efficiency of businesses and services provided by an organization. This research report

with their importance. Moreover, the researchers also discussed the intention of the article,
