ePortfolio 2 Week 7: Business Process Performance Management
Business Process Performance Management is a sequential step of performance management
system, which uses to analyse every process of any business to achieve a particular goal of an
organisation. Business performance management is a combination of Corporate Performance
Management and Enterprise Performance Management (Noe et al., 2017).
To apply Business Process Performance Management, an organisation should take the following
steps
First, an organisation should identify their ultimate goal for their business. After identifying the
target, integrate all relevant information related to the progress of that company. When all the
relevant information collected successfully, the managers of the organisation investigate on that
information to improve their business performance and achieve this desired goal.

The most important part of this process is to collect all data carefully (Heisig et al., 2016). If data
is not assembled correctly, then the whole process goes in a wrong way that can never be solved.
The activities of Business Process Performance Management are massive for large organisations.
As a result, the amount of data is also huge, and it is difficult to collect those data properly. This
type of large organisations involves other software vendors those who are offering business
intelligence tools for managing those data. Sometimes those vendors do not understand the
marketing strategies of that organisation and the whole process goes wrong.

Benefits of Business Performance Management
As per this process, the initial step is to select the ultimate goal of the business. When the desired
goal is fixed, it is easy to estimate the cost to achieve that goal. At the initial stage, if the
organisation knows about their destination, they can draft a direct route for this and outline to
maintain a constant workflow.
It is easier for the employees too if a proper outline of the work is clear to them. Managers can
also distribute the entire task among the employees (Hammer, 2015). Performance of every
employee exactly known by the managers and they can observe that the given instructions are
adequately accomplished or not.
As the desired goal is set previously, it can encourage employee’s motivation by giving them
incentives when they complete their individual goal on time. It also helps the organisation to
make a critical decision in any tough situation (Wellin, 2016). As the actual track of workflow has
already drafted, at any point the company can solve the future problems and return to that path.
Actual Strategy
After identifying the goal, budget planning should make for the entire project. The second step is
linking all relevant data that are collected from different sources and systems. Map the whole
project using this information. Divides the entire strategy into a different department and keep
observe individuals’ participation in the project.

After all the works assigned to every department, each work linked properly when it completes.
After the entire job completed adequately, then folds under the same roof. This strategy can only
happen correctly when everyone has a clear picture of the ultimate goal. Good communication is
also essential to execute such an approach (Heisig et al., 2016).
If any of the above steps are misconduct, the entire process can go wrong, and the desired goal
can never achieve.
