Explain the concept and need of workplace transformation within Marks & Spencer?
According to Hicks (2019), workplace transformation is the business strategy that
organizations use to transform their workplace. This is the process of rethinking an
environment that is more flexible and includes a variety of digital technologies and networks
in the workplace. Workplace transformation is the accumulation of different jobs, workers
and technologies all together. There are many aspects to workplace transformation, including
people, communication, collaboration and resources. All this helps transform the workspace
in a flexible and innovative way.
According to Selimović, Pilav Velić and Krndžija (2021), Marks & Spencer needs a
workplace transformation. This is to help increase the productivity of the company. The
primary need for workplace transformation is to boost employee morale. With the help of
digital work, researcher can coordinate different jobs and employees, which can boost
employee morale and increase productivity. Another need is to help employees develop a

variety of digital and connectivity skills that help them improve their performance and
develop professionally.
What is the importance of innovative digital workspace within Marks & Spencer?
According to (Philip and Gavrilova Aguilar, 2022), having a digital workplace is very
important as it helps in gaining a competitive advantage. Workplace changes are important
to Marks & Spencer for the following reasons:
Increase flexibility: Having an innovative digital workplace is important for Marks &
Spencer because it increases employee flexibility. With the help of digital
workspaces, employees like to work flexibly as it helps relieve stress between them.
Research work schedule and work environment will be positive.
Reduce operational cost: Another significance to have innovative administrative
center for Marks and Spencer is it minimise the operational value and costs of the
company. Digital administrative center enables in reducing the duplication of labor in
addition to enables in coping with the assets in sustainable manner. Marks and
Spencer can use diverse chat bots and digital assembly era to make an interaction.
Improve productivity and efficiency: Creative and innovative workplace
transformations can help increase Marks & Spencer's overall productivity. With the

businesses to adopt different digital workplace strategies to improve the performance of their
organizations. Marks & Spencer has also introduced a variety of creative and innovative
digital workspace strategies to enhance the creation of flexible workspaces. Some of them
are:
Remote working: The essential method this is followed with the aid of using Marks
and Spencer to create virtual place of work is permitting far flung working. At the
time of Covid 19 this method facilitates the enterprise loads to retain doing their
paintings whilst sitting farfar from the office. This useful resource the emblem in

improving the productiveness on the time of pandemic. This is one of the maximum
appealing method for Marks and Spencer which facilitates them to boom
productiveness (Shivakumar 2020).
Technology and Software: Another way that the management of Marks & Spencer
uses to create an innovative workplace is to use a variety of technologies and
networking software within the organization. I used different software to link different
jobs to workers. This will reduce overwork and duplication. With the help of this
software, day-to-day operations are also improved (Mićićandet .al, 2022).
What is the impact of innovative digital workspace over performance of employees and
organisation?
According to Annapurna and Murty (2019), digital workplaces have a positive impact on employee
and organization performance. It has been shown that many organizations are enjoying a variety of
benefits by starting to rethink their work environment in a digital location. Some of the positive
impacts of the Digital Workplace are:
More employee engagement: The first benefit they have gained from now on is that it helps
to increase employee involvement. In a digital work environment, employees are more fully
engaged in their work. This will increase the productivity and allow to work with more
dedication and energy.
Decrease operation cost: Another impact that digital workplaces have on employee and

Document Page
3.1 Research Process
This is a step-by-step process that researchers follow to conduct research in a scientific way
(Fisher and Bloomfield, 2019). All steps in the investigation process are interrelated. The
investigation process has eight steps:
a) Formulating the hypothesis, aim and objective
b) Identifying the research problem
c) Preparing research design
d) Collecting data
e) Written the report
f) Written literature review
g) Deciding research sample
h) Analysing and evaluating data
3.2 Research Approach
A research approach is a planned process that enables testing of theory and hypothesis. They
can be divided into two parts: the deductive approach and the inductive approach. In the
current research study, researchers have adopted a deductive approach (Coombes and Ryder,
2019). The main advantage of using this approach is to test existing theories. The theory is
tested on a quantitative basis, so the researcher can have a valid and reliable understanding of
its meaning and purpose.
3.3 Research Strategy
Research strategies are step-by-step plans that help people gather information
according to their thoughts and ideas. There are different types of research strategies,
including research, experimental research, action research, case studies, and focus groups
(Shields, 2019). According to existing research, researchers have chosen a research strategy.
Using this strategy, investigators can help collect big data from a wider range of samples.
This also collects numerical information in less time and cost.
3.4 Research Methodology and Tools
A survey method is a systematic process of identifying, analyzing, and interpreting
data according to a survey. This section helps investigators know what kind of data they need
and the philosophies, approaches, and data collection methods used to collect and analyze the

information (Thomas, 2021). Readers will use this section to assess the validity of the overall
data and give them confidence in their research.
Research Philosophy: Research philosophy is a set of principles and beliefs used to
gather the information needed. Positivism and interpretationism are two research
philosophies. In current research, the philosophy of positivism is used by researchers. The
main reason for this is to help collect and analyze objective information to identify current
trends and patterns (VanKooten, 2019).
Research choice: Quantitative and qualitative are two research options available to
investigators. Quantitatively based on numerical information and qualitatively based on non-
numerical data. In this study, quantitative information is used by researchers to collect
numerical and numerical data. The main advantage that can be obtained is that more useful
information can be obtained and numerical information can be easily analyzed (Iovino and
Tsitsianis, 2020).
Time horizon: It is the time framework which is used to know the time of investing.
Time horizon is divided into two frameworks that are cross sectional and longitudinal. In the
present investigation, researcher has chosen cross sectional time horizon. The reason is that it
will gather data as per the current situation because data is collected at single time and that
too in shorter duration.
Data Collection: Data collection is a technology for collecting and evaluating
information. There are two sources for collecting information: primary and secondary. In
current research, both primary and secondary data are used by researchers. Primary data is
fresh hand information collected from the respondents themselves. Secondary data, on the
other hand, is used information used by multiple researchers in their research. Tools for
collecting primary data are surveys and secondary data books, articles, and online sites
(Sileyew, 2019).
Data Analysis: Data analysis is a research tool that checks, cleanses, and measures
the information collected. This technique collects useful information by evaluating raw data.
Frequency distribution and topics are two data acquisition tools. In existing studies,
researchers chose the frequency distribution method. The main advantage is that
quantitative data can be evaluated more easily. It also reduces the time and cost of reviewing
raw data. The use of this data is displayed in the form of charts, tables and graphs.

Sampling: Sampling is a method of selecting a sample from a population. There are
two sampling methods: probabilistic sampling and non-probability sampling. Probability
sampling is used in the current study. This is because probability sampling is equally likely to
be selected. Moreover, this random sampling method is adopted. The sample size is Marks
and Spencer (Fidahicandet. Al2020
