INTRODUCTION
Managing a project is defined as an activity of planning, execution or finishing a specific
project in a given time-frame so that expected goals or objectives will be achieved within a given
time period. Whereas, recruitment and selections are those methods that are used by
organisations for hiring or selecting experienced or knowledgeable applicants so that they can
meet with the international requirements. These methods are very important and executed by HR
departments so that competitive advantage can be gained by a firm. Present assignment is based
on Nestle which is a multinational company and providing its services in food and beverages
sector along with headquarters in Switzerland. Company offers a wide variety of food and
beverages products like bottled water, pet foods, frozen foods etc. Present assignment will
discuss about the aims or objectives of company for meeting with international requirements.
Project management plan along with several aspects like scope, cost, risk will also prepared
under this report.
Literature Review
Recruitment
According to Martin, (2016) “ Recruitment is a procedure in which an organisation
searching the applicants and encourage them for applying the jobs in firm.” Furthermore, it is a
process of finding and attracting knowledgeable or experienced candidates for the vacant
position of organisation (What is recruitment, 2016).
According to Ruth Mathew, (2019) “Recruitment is the process of finding and hiring
knowledgeable and skilled candidates for a particular job or position in a systematic manner.”
This process is related with a full life cycle which is started from the identification of
requirements of a firm for a vacant position and ends with introduction of a new candidate in the
organisation (Explanation of recruitment Process, 2019).
According to William B. Werther and Keith Devis, (2018) “ Nestle is more focused on
hiring or promoting the people who wants to learn and highly motivated instead of those
candidates who have certain bullets on their resume. Nestle is a company which is based on its
principles instead of earning profits(Definition of recruitment, 2018).

According to Kannan, (2018) “Selection is a process through which candidates who are
invited for recruitment process are categorise in two parts first who will take the offer letter and
second one are those who will not.” In addition with this, it is a process of selecting the most
suitable candidate for the current vacant position from within or outside the organisation
(Kannan,2018).
According to Decenzo & Robbins, (2016) “ This activity follows a proper standard
pattern which is started from an interview and finished at final decision of employment.”
Selection is a screening and filtering procedure of applicants who are invited for applying for the
vacant positions (Definition-of-recruitment-and-selection, 2016).
According to Yadav, and Sharma, (2015). “In Nestle, Selection is based on the merit for the job
requirement of vacant position and competitive salary which is aligned with the structure of the
company.” (Yadav, 2015)
Training
According to Burns, (2017), “ Training is an act of enhancing knowledge and efficiency
of staff members for performing a specific job.” In addition to this, it is an organised process
through which individuals of a firm learn knowledge or skills for a specific purpose (Burns,
2017).
According to Carkhuff, (2017) “ Training is a pre-planned activity which emphasises on
enhancing the capabilities and efficiencies of employees so that their maximum contribution can
be gained or they may handle higher position in the firm.” The main objective behind providing
this is to improve the performance level of existing employees so that organisation can meet with
the future requirements (Carkhuff, 2017).
According to Kuhn, (2017) “In Nestle training programmes are provided for improving
personal performance of the individuals so that desired objectives can be achieved within a pre-
determined time period. HR department conduct training and development programmes on the
regular basis so that competitive advantage of firm can be maintained in the marketplace (Kuhn,
2015).
Establish Gap – Nestle is known as one of the most leading food and beverage company
along with an experience of 135 years firm is providing its products and services across the
world. The company has made its presence in all over the world and various employees with

competitive advantage can be gained for a long time period. For this, all the firms invests a huge
amount for training and development of their employees so that they can easily meet with the
future requirement. Nestle is a transnational firm which provides its services in food and
beverage sector along with based in Voidd, Switzerland. It offers various products like baby
food, cerelacs, tea, coffee etc. in across the world. In current scenario, company is performing its
duties or functions in most of the nations so that it is very important for the management of
Nestle to improve the training, selection and recruitment methods therefore, requirement of
international level can be fulfilled in effective manner (ajda, 2015).
Purpose of the Research - Purpose of conducting this research programme is to determine the
ways through which recruitment, selection or training methods can be improved which will be
helpful for the firm in meeting with the international requirements. It will also assist the
researcher to identifying the tools or techniques which can be used for executing the research
programme. Hence, it can be said that this research will be helpful for the both researcher and
organisation.

Project management plan is defined as the formal or authorised documents which are
essential for carrying out the project activities in an effective manner. It also gave a proper way
or manner to the researcher or organisation in which the project will be carried out so that
reliable or valid conclusion can be constructed at the last of research. Various essential aspects
like cost, time or scope of this plan are explained as under:
Cost – Management of Nestle have estimated amount of 60000 pound in which 20000 for
improving each process. Company have decided to use online aptitude test for improving the
recruitment process, psychometric test for selection and brain map for improving the training
process. Whereas, researcher has demanded an amount of 12000 for executing the research
programme (Carayannis, 2015).
Scope: Through using online aptitude test, psychometric test and brain map organisation
will be able in hiring skilled or experienced candidates which will be helpful for the management
of nestle in meeting with the international requirements. With the help of these methods,
employees of the organisation will easily handle the situations and chances of conflicts from the
workplace will be reduced. Therefore, it can be said that scope of improving the training,
selection or recruitment process is very wide in nature.
Quality: During execution of project activities, It is very necessary for measuring the
quality of tools and technique so that the research programme can be carried out in effective
manner. When researcher will use qualitative methods then chances of valid conclusion will be
higher. Psychometric, brain map or online aptitude test will also helpful for the managers of
Nestle in improving the quality of training, recruitment or selection methods.
Communication: It is very essential aspect of project management plan because without
it execution of project is impossible. Therefore, it is very essential for the project managers of

Nestle to use various channels of communication such as online conferencing, telephonic
communication etc. so that project can be completed in the given time-frame. Whereas,
researcher have also use some effective communication channels like SMS, e-mails so that valid
conclusion will be received in the pre-determined time-frame.
Risk: Various risk are faced by researcher during execution of research such as
insufficiency of funds and inappropriate knowledge. In online aptitude test, risk of hiring
unskilled or unknowledgeable candidates exist some time which can influence the whole
profitability of organisation in adverse manner. Apart from that, psychometric and brain map
process are more time consuming that can adversely impact on the overall performance of
organisation.
Resources: In order to conducting the project activities in more effective manner
numerous resources are needed like technical equipments for online aptitude test and
psychometric tests and skilled team of employees in HR department. For researcher necessary
resources are internet, funds etc. which will be assist them in completing the research programme
in given time period (Reich, 2014).
Time: For executing the research programme and project activities in an effective
manner appropriate time frame is very important because without it the chances of failure of
project can be enhanced. Time frame for improving training, recruitment or selection methods
has been estimated by the management of Nestle is 15 months in which 5 months are assigned
for each process. Apart from that, researcher have estimated time period of 5 weeks for
completing the research programme.

Work break-down structure: It is a structure which is used for categorising the project
work in various small components so that all activities of project can be conducted in an
effective manner. It will also encourage and motivate the project managers of Nestle to make
segmentation of complex activities of project in smaller parts so that members of project team
can understand and provide maximum efforts for completing it.

statistical data that can be interpreted in understandable manner. In it, data is measured in the
form of numbers and figures.
Primary- In it, the data which is collected is never used before and is also collected by
the researcher for very first time. For collecting this kind of data, research can use various
sources like questionnaires, surveys or interviews (Coker, 2014).
Secondary-In this kind of data collection, researcher have to gather data from the past
records and it is already used by other persons. Main source for collecting this type of data are
journals, Books, magazines etc.
In this project, researcher have taken qualitative research method and under this, primary
kind of data collection is used in the form of questionnaire. For collecting primary data
researcher have to ask some questions from the employees and stakeholders of organisation
which will be considered as the entire view of population.
Sampling size: 40 respondents are taken in this report for gathering valid and reliable data from
them.
