PART 2- REFLECTION
This module has helped me in learning different kinds of methods that can be used by me
for completion of my research project. This module consists of some lecture series that helped
me enhancing my overall knowledge and helped in completing this research project in a much
better and appropriate manner. During this pandemic situation all the lectures were conducted
online but due to this it faced some difficulties and due to these online classes, it was becoming
difficult for me to cope up with these sessions and I personally felt that I was facing these issues
because I was missing personal touch where I can personally go to my tutor and resolve my
issues. Due to this, when I shared this issue with my tutor, they helped me and allotted some
personal query time where I can resolve my issues and also helped me in enhancing my digital
skills so that I can make use of internet as well for exploring correct use of research methods for
completing this project in an appropriate manner. Within few days this tactic helped in coping up
with online lectures. When I started working on this project, first of all my tutor asked me to
select an appropriate topic related to a business problem in any industry. I was facing some
difficulties in selecting a particular topic but then my tutor asked me to select topic related to my
previous business proposal assignment also provided me with notes that can be used by us for
understanding ways in which this research project was required to be completed.
I used my digital skills and notes provided by my tutor to complete my research project in
such a manner that I can answer all the main research questions in a proper and accurate manner.
When I started working on this project, I realised that I need to focus upon conducting research
on internet in order to understand previous research done in this field and ways in which this
topic has become important for research in past few years. When I actually started working on
this project, I realised that it is a vast topic and took time to understand way in which this project
can be carried forward. So, for this first week I learnt how to develop research questions in a
proper manner. Next week I learnt abut different kinds of methods and ways in which all the
methods are used within research project. This knowledge helped in understanding the research
methods are used according to the main and objectives that are required to be achieved
(Redwine, Leggette and Prather, 2017). I used this knowledge to develop research question in
such a manner that it can help me in achieving my main aim of identifying ways in which
expansion of business opportunity can be identified and captured by an organization. After
developing accurate research question I started to gain understanding of this project and

whenever I felt any kind of doubt then I used to ask my tutors for the same. As my tutor was
quite supportive and helped me with my research project I was able to progress within my
project in an accurate and appropriate manner.
There were various kinds of skills and technologies that were used by me and helped me
in completing this research project in an appropriate manner and within time. In this pandemic
time internet was one of the best technology that was used by me that helped me in enhancing
my knowledge related to the research topic and asl helped me in collection of primary and
secondary data required for this project. I used my digital skills for researching on internet for
collection of appropriate data, checking suitability of my research aim and objectives. During
this module I was able to understanding that remaining calm was the key towards success.
Whenever I faced any kind of issue or problem I tried to remain cool and calm so that I can find
out solution for the same. During these lecture sessions in this module I was also able to
understand that it was important to identify gaps within current research project.
This module also helped in understanding that literature review plays a vital role within a
research as it helps researcher in gaining understanding of the research area. Conducting
literature review helped me in enhancing my expertise in research area which further helped me
in conducting primary research in a proper and appropriate manner. This module has further
helped me gaining knowledge different types of research designs, approaches, data collection
methods, philosophy, sampling, research type and many other kinds of methods (van Smeden,
Lash and Groenwold, 2020). Further my tutor helped in gaining expertise of these methods for
understanding when these methods are used. I can also say that this module has tremendously
helped enhancing my knowledge about qualitative and quantitative research methods and with
which type of research numerical data should be collected and with which project numerical data
or theoretical data should be collected. This module further helped me in understanding that
there are different kinds of sources though which primary and secondary data can be collected
for research. However, in this current Covid-19 situation it was a bit difficult to cope up with
lecture session online but after going though all the modules by knowledge and confidence level
both have been increase. My communication skills, research skills have enhanced in a better
manner, I have also learned so many things that can further helped in bringing improvement
within my academic skills and knowledge that can further help me in gaining better marks,
achieve my academic goals in a much better manner.
