Aim/Problem Statement
Learning contract, according to Aiken et’al (1985), is simply a document drawn up by the
student in consultation with an instructor specifying what and how the student will learn in a
given period of time. The primary aim in the use of learning contracts is to encourage individualized
learning by tailoring the educational experience to the objectives of individual students. The
National Health Service (NHS, Birmingham) calls it learning agreement and states that it clearly
explains the responsibilities of all those involved (the student and instructor) in the learning process
before it takes place. It clarifies expectations on all sides and helps to ensure commitment from the
signatories towards achieving the learning objectives.
Over the ten weeks, this case study will require the completion of a new business setup and
management of the business.
Although i possess leadership qualities, good communication skills and effective time management
skills, the objectives of my learning contract will enhance other skills as well.
To achieve the objective in my learning contract, I will be using various theories, weekly logs and
other vital information needs to measure the success and achievements of my aims.
This learning contract will enhance my future career in the business management organisations as a
project manager
I will take advantage of information from my tutors and seminars to enhance my skills.
Furthermore, I will develop more confidence in team work, conflict management and good
leadership qualities to manage conflicts when the need arises.
I will also develop good interpersonal skills to help me to work as a part of a group by applying my
skills to achieve good business management outcomes.
This learning contract will help me to improve on my management skills.

3. Justification
My skills are important in this project and, I have the following skills.
1. Leadership skills: my leadership skills a not only show that I have good interpersonal
skills; they also show that I have the ability to co-ordinate, motivate and shape a
team.
2. Communication skills: Good communication skills are essential in order to deliver
and receive information quickly and accurately.
3. Time Management: time management allows you to accomplish more in a shorter
period of time.
4. Decision making skills: my ability to make a quick, yet good decision is very
important given the limited time we have to execute the project.
These skills are essential in both my time as a student and after studies.
Methods
I have chosen case study as my pathway. The reason for choosing case study is that:
1) It reconstructs an existing scenario or history for analysis
2) It allows a researcher to investigate a subject or topic in more details
3) It provides detailed (rich qualitative) information, thereby allowing a researcher to
investigate in more details.
4) Case studies provide insight for further studies. Impractical (or unethical) investigations can
be done with a case study.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of this project I am able to:
1. Build a portfolio of evidence using a range of methodologies and activities (log
books; critical incident diaries; employer or supervisor feedback).
2. Identify and articulate the development of work related skills mapped to
evidence drawn from either the project or placement.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the background and context
relative to the chosen project or placement opportunity.
4. Evaluate the effectiveness of preparation and planning undertaken prior to the

What is a Learning Contract/Agreement/Plan?
It is a formal document that defines what is expected from you while working on the
work based project. The learning contract sets out the parameters for the task that
you are expected to undertake so as to meet the assessment criteria (learning
outcomes). You would need to focus on the elements given in the above proforma
for learning and delineate the details in the learning contract/plan and focus on the
following key generic components:

discuss and seek guidelines from Tutors/supervisors. You would need to agree
/negotiate the learning contract with your Tutor/supervisor, include the signed copy
of the learning contract in final submission and submit it along with the portfolio. It is
to ensure that transparent, feasible and verifiable set of activities are established in
the learning contract which enables you to meet the learning outcomes of the
Module and achieves the assessment criteria.

1. Context/Background
The Monet is a holiday park with a garden and house that is situated at Giverny. It is
a small village situated outside Vernon. This is about one hour drive from the city of Paris.
Over t6he Seine, lies the place Vernon and comprises of various river cruise boats. This is
helpful to spare a complete day for visiting the Giverny. This is a short excursion from the
river cruise and this is a great opportunity.
The business manager of the Monet Holiday Park, has needed to consider important
responsibility to manage various administrative activities for the business of the park. He is
also expected to assist the marketing program. Further, the business also intends to
perform various analysis for finding the ways through which the holiday park can cut various
costs.
In the following study, a literature review is conducted with various theories and
models. Next, the project phases are discussed along with different skills that are
developed. Then, the actions to be taken and not to be taken are included here. Further,
project learning is demonstrated here.

2. Literature Review (models and theories)
For managing the business system of Monet Holiday Park, a web based property
management system should be deployed. This is helpful to control the campsite on any
device comprising of Online connection. Neal and Harpham (2017) states that this business
model should be flexible. Further, O'Donovan (2017) argues that this should be tailored to
suit the business model of the holiday park. According to Camilleri (2016), it must be flexible
and robust booking engine. This must comprise of live availability and easy for the guests for
paying online and booking. This should also include the tactical pricing and tools of yield
management. Then, there should be enquiry and quote management. Karelse (2017)
explains that the management tools must be helpful to manage the check-outs and check-
ins and clean the schedules. It must involve the housekeeping reports and unit ready lists.
Further, there must be simple view arrivals, daily occupancies and departures. Then there is
channel manager. This must be linked to the most popular type of travel sites with the help

develop income and employment and stimulate domestic consumption. This has been
bringing about the cultural and social development of various host communities. It is shown
by Mason (2015) that developing and smaller nations are specialized for the experience of
tourism for greater growth of the economy as compared to the nations that devoid of the
tourism industry. Here, Kossmann (2016) current statistical and financial methods assure
that the contribution of tourism at national economies is easily and precisely measurable.
This can be used as an indicator to analyse the effects and impacts of the growth of tourism.

In the present case, sustainable development has been translating the vital categories of
special considerations. Besides, conserving the natural resources and environment along

theory to design sustainable tourism has done under cooperative impact by the local
communities, business and states.
