As per view point of Stiles (2015), there are differentiated approaches that can be used by
business so that they can activate talent within workplace. The differentiated approach is based
on employee performance and inclusive approaches are associated with assessment of leverage
which is being inserted to employees. In this way these principles are assisting in order to find
out the ways in which high employee retention can be exerted and strategies can be aligned.
As per the viewpoint of Swailes (2020), talent-management is one of the significant
movement which is being exerted within an organisation and the same are assisting the business
to align their aims and objectives in such a way that early success can be attained.
P2. Preparation of project management plan
A Project is a specified task taken to reach at certain desired outcome. The project
management is the method to manage and achieve the project objectives (Gallardo-Gallardo,
Thunnissen and Scullion, 2020). The project has definite meaning and resources which is
deployed to achieve some defined objective. The project has certain important variables which
the researcher should focus on are as follows:
Time: The time is an important factor in project which is helpful in avoiding any delays
and discrepancies with project. After deciding time frame for each and every activity associated
with the project this is easier to conduct those activities in timely manner. The project begins and
ends with proper deadline. The time is an important factor while completing any project
(Collings, Scullion and Caligiuri, 2018). The time management is an important factor which
results into the effectiveness of project accomplishment if delivered before or on time. The
researcher would require 8 weeks to carry out this project beginning on 1st of October 2020 and
completing on 30th November 2020.
Quality: The quality is something which can never be compromised upon. The project
activities are divided upon in cost, time and resources. The quality should be maintained
throughout the project. The proper quality standards resources will be used while conducting
research and collecting information through primary and secondary sources. The time and cost
should also be divided qualitatively to each task, so that project can be completed with proper
quality. For the practical implementation also the quality should be maintained while completing
project. The suggestions for output should also be listed in project (Sparrow, 2019). In this
research plan the literature used will be authentic and reliable as well as in order to ensure
quality trademark and copyrights will be checked.

Communication: The clear communication results in the effective project
accomplishment. The proper communication should be done with concerned team members.
Each team member should be made part of giving any input. The constant communication should
be maintained while project is accomplished (Pandita and Ray, 2018). For ensuring effective
communication all the team members are assigned tasks through direct meetings so that to avoid
any kind of confusion.
Risk: The risk identification and assessment is crucial part of any project. The risk is a
factor if not identified in advance can ruin the seeds of achieving fruits timely. While developing
the project each step should be clearly scanned and any probable risk if identified should be
addressed. The proper mitigation plan should be developed to avoid the risk in efficient manner
(Claus, 2019). The major risks associated with this research are related to delays in project
completion and adhered to cost as well. Resource: The resource involves identification of
all the required resources in course of the project. The resource when allocated needs to be
considered in the cost schedule. As proper identification of resources leads to the effective use of
resources and helps in the proper allocation of resources (Painter‐Morland, Kirk, Deslandes and
Tansley, 2019). The resources include financial, stationery, internet, questionnaire and
machinery etc. resources which are needed to effectively achieve the project objective.
P3 Work breakdown structure and Gantt Chart
The project management requires efficient tracking of activities. As the project has
certain stages which are initiation, planning, closing and monitoring. The tools which help in
efficient tracking of activities are:
Work break down structure (WBS)
The breaking down of the activities into easy and manageable task are done for managing
the project in a convenient manner. In work break down structure the hierarchical break down of
activities is done to easily track the success of project. In breaking down the research activities
an appropriate hierarchy is followed so that all the activities can be aligned with each other. The
WBS helps in the efficient tracking of activities and helps in easy accomplishment of project
(Meyers, van Woerkom, Paauwe and Dries, 2020).

Gantt Chart
The Gantt chart is one of most used tool for project management. Gantt chart is helpful in
planning and scheduling of project in which completion of each and every activity are mentioned
so this is easier for the researcher to assess the overall time duration for the project to get
completed. (Meyers, van Woerkom, Paauwe and Dries, 2020).

TASK 2
P4 Small-scale research applying primary and secondary methods used to meet project aims and
objectives.
The research is a process of collection, analysis and interpretation of data. The collected
data is helpful in drawing conclusion in accurate manner. The efficient research process helps in
the effective accomplishment of the project. The research is of two types:
Qualitative Research: The qualitative research is based on knowing the opinions of the
respondents. The qualitative research consists of the open ended questions as part of data
collection (Collings, Mellahi and Cascio, 2019). Qualitative research is assisting the research in
understanding the research topic in depth manner.
Quantitative Research: the quantitative research is based on the numbers. The
respondents are required to select/tick from the options so given. The conclusion so formed is
using the mathematical model or with use of statistics. The close ended questions provide easy
analysis of data by just checking upon the consensus how many times the most option is chosen.
That option leads to the result of study (Kerr and Ng, 2020).
Under this research qualitative and quantitative both the methods are used as the research
is associated with undertaking depth understanding in context of talent-management and
different strategies under the same.
Data collection: The data collection refers to the techniques of collection of data to reach
the conclusion. The data collection methods are as following:
Primary Data: The Primary data refers to the collection of data for the first time. The
first time collection of any information is referred to the primary data. The primary information
is the information which is collected and deigned according to the need of the study. The sources
of primary data are questionnaires, interviews, field study etc. (Crane and Hartwell, 2019).
Within this research questionnaire is used in order to take responses from various respondents.
Secondary Data: The Secondary data refers to the information which have been
collected earlier but the same is used in modified manner according to the requirement of
researcher (De Boeck, Meyers and Dries, 2018). The sources of secondary information are
census, publications, textbooks, articles etc.
Within this research primary and secondary sources of data collection are being used so
that to draw valuable outcomes. Under primary data questionnaire method is used by the

researcher and in secondary data information is collected through literature review. The purpose
of selecting primary tools is that these are authentic and contains high degree of reliability.
Besides this reason for selecting secondary tools are that these are providing in depth knowledge
regarding the topic of research.
Sampling: The sampling is the method of selecting the number of respondents from the
larger population. The drawing of population depends upon the method of analysis being done.
Sampling is encompassing of two methods such as probabilistic and non-probabilistic method. In
order to conduct this research, the researcher is using probabilistic method of sampling. In this
research, the sample size of 40 is being selected for quantitative data and for qualitative data 2
respondents are selected. (King and Vaiman, 2019). The questionnaire is given to employees of
Tesco as talent-management strategies are implemented over employees so they are highly
suitable for conducting this research and drawing outcomes as well.
