Questionnaire is the method of gathering data for making research, conducting interview
sessions and the surveys. It is the technique that allows an individual in reaching to a large
number of the people and in obtaining useful information for making better and the suitable
decisions. For instance- In case you are the HR manager of your business, by making use of
questionnaire, you could b able to hire potential and talented people who fits to the job and have
an effective skills or capabilities in performing the task in an efficient manner. There are several
reasons which shows that a Questionnaire is the best technique in collecting the data that are as
follows-
Economical- It is counted as the most economical way in accumulating an information or
the data in relation to a specific research problem. It helps in making or formulating the study at
a very low cost as no cost has to be bear for printing paper, stamps and the postage. There does
not present any requirement in visiting to all the respondents personally. Thus, it is a cost
effective method of data collection as compared to the other techniques of gathering data.
Wider coverage- Questionnaire is the most suitable method in case the population of the
sample is been spread across the larger territory (Patten, 2016). This technique helps in
contacting with more and more people or larger group at one point of time.
Quick replies- It helps in gaining rapid replies from the participant at a large because by
distributing the form, responses of the participant can be generated on a quick basis.
Easiest technique- This tool is counted as as the most easiest technique in planning,
administering and constructing. It do not need any technical knowledge or the skill in preparing
the questionnaire and is understandable to the respondent in a better way.
Uniformity- This method emphasize on gaining an attention on all kinds of the
significant items. As it has been administered in the written form, the standardized instructions
are present for recording the responses with an aim to ensure uniformity. Thus, it do not permit
much of the variation in any form.
Higher level of validity- It contains some of the unique benefits with regards to the
validity of an information. In the methods such as observation and an interview, reliability of the

having present biased or the prejudiced information in relation to their own matters. However,
the responses that are been given by subjects are seen as available in its own version and the
language in the questionnaire. Therefore, it could not be interpreted in a wrong manner by a

Flexible- It is the most flexible tool in terms of the gathering an information in both
qualitative and the quantitative nature.
Anonymity- This technique ensures an anonymity towards respondents as the respondents
would be having a greater confidence in giving their opinion and the view (Kant and Dalvi,
2017). They feel as more and more comfortable and as free in expressing their own perspectives
under this method.

The type of the data that need to be collected for this study is to know the preferences of
the customers in availing the gym services. They must obtain the data in relation to how much
the customers are determined in attaining their fitness goals and the reason behind which the
customers opts for going to the gym (DiStefano and Jiang, 2020). They should also obtain data
regarding the specifications of the customers referring to availability of the facilities in the gym
and the equipments that they prefer the most while using the gym services.
