Understanding oneself and learning from the experience reflect the relevance of
reflection in career and education. Reflection is the practice that includes learning from
experience and applying the learning in future experience. Education is important part of life,
however taking up any course reflect a major decision for an individual, which include
considering the objective, and ability of the course to make one reach the goal. It would be
considering going for professional degree for which the analysis will be part of discussion in
the essay. I will be considering setting career goal and analyse if the decided course will be
helpful in the professional development (Bombiak, 2018).
One of the reflective models that can be applicable while analysing the course
relevance is Driscoll model of reflection. This includes an experimental learning cycle
initiating from experience. The phases of the cycle include experiencing, sharing, processing,
generalizing, and applying. Considering first phase that is experience, I would like to include
that as per my existing knowledge business is the commercial activity with the key objective
would be to earn money in the form of profit or social cause. I would include that I am
interested in understanding the constraints that are part of business or trading of goods and
services. From my previous experience, where I have work as the an intern in the business
environment, I could include that it acted as a good learning, but I believe that the
professional degree would be more helpful in my growth in professional life I would be
continuing further. This is one of the major reasons that I am looking forward to go for this
degree. The business environment reflects major opportunities but also reflect major
challenges, thus it is important to be ready for the challenges through acquiring some key
skills and knowledge (Snowdon, 2018).

Considering second stage of the framework that is sharing, I have observed that I am
good with some of the aspects, but have been lacking in some of the key aspects which reflect
the need to enhance my skills and knowledge. For instance, in the team I was good when it
comes to empathise with the team members and collaboration in the team, but leading a team
may come with some challenges. From this experience, my interest is in leading a team and
gets new idea to be introduced so as to create an innovative product to be offered to the
customers. From the economic principles, which state the relation between supply and
demand reflect that managing the demand of the customer with limited resources is one of the
major challenge, which reflect an individual’s skills (Bertrand & Rodela, 2018).
The key advantages or I would say the outcome that may be met through acquiring
the professional degree includes learning operational management, understanding leadership
aspects and practice, resources optimisation, professional communication and ethics, and
most importantly managing human resources in the organisation (Bonaccio & O'Reilly,
2016). The professional degree may help me improving these skills so as to become a good
entrepreneur in a top corporate company. Thus from the three questions from the Driscoll
model reflect what, so what, and now what. Experience, observation and the purpose of the
study is being analysed.
In order to ensure that the skills learned from the course would be helpful in the
carrier I would be considering the application of the skills in the course and after the course.
Other than this the accomplishment of every small aspect will be applied to the career
through gaining further experience from live projects within the course, participating in
course events like class role plays, which will act as some ways to monitor, apply and
manage the theoretical study to successfully apply to a practical experience (Birasnav, 2014).
