This report provides a critical analysis of two academic journal articles focusing on business research methods and data analysis. The first article examines the impact of training and development on employee performance at Escon Consulting, employing an inductive research approach and utilizing both primary (questionnaires) and secondary data. It explores the use of thematic perception tests for data analysis and discusses findings related to training effectiveness, resource provision, and rewards. The second article investigates the impact of different training and development programs on employee performance, adopting a deductive research approach and employing SPSS for regression analysis. It analyzes data from a survey of 100 employees in the chemical and manufacturing industry, highlighting the importance of training methods and equal opportunities. Both articles are critically appraised, contrasting their methodologies and suggesting improvements, such as incorporating quantitative methods in the first article and qualitative aspects in the second. The report concludes with recommendations for improving training programs, emphasizing the significance of employee feedback, equal opportunities, and career planning for organizational success.
