BUSINESS RESEARCH 2
Introduction
This reflective report takes into consideration about the learning and experience in the
context of problem defining, addressing the topic, writing of topic approval submission,
and development of research question. It also emphasizes on learning about a different
aspect of literature review, research methodology, and findings of data. This reflective
report demonstrates the learning about writing up the project, and research experience
as well as, teamwork.
1. Topic
Topic identification
By attending different weeks in the business research course, I was able to identify the
topic. Along with this, our team members are interested with respect to topic related to
electronic marketing. It also focuses on how a customer attitude, their feeling, trust as
well as, behavioral intention have an impact on online shopping together with, how they
are responding towards the online shopping in Nepal.
Problem definition
I have improved my learning that online shopping is rising continuously, but different
Nepalese customers are hesitating for purchasing online. From the project report, I
have observed that some individuals from big cities prefer to shop through online mode
as well as, amongst them youngsters are more active due to following up new
technology and trends as per the demands and needs. The research problem for this
project is “Nepalese behavior and attitudes towards online shopping”(Shathi, and
Kannaiah, 2015).
Research question
The research question was selected by me for this research project is “What is the
impact on consumer buying behavior with online shopping in Nepal “. This research
question was responded through this research project.
Writing of topic approval submission
The topic was approved for submission as this research topic was appropriate with the
intention of investigation. I have observed that writing of topic could be approved by
selecting the innovative research issues (V. and Kumar, 2017).
2. The literature review
Search process
In the context of the research project, I have searched the data by utilizing the different
databases such as Google scholars, IEEE, and ACM. I have observed that these
databases could be utilized to access different sources such as journal articles, articles,
textbooks, as well as, academic publication.
Summarising relevant articles
During conducting the research project, I have summarised the relevant articles. For
this, I have focused on literature reviews of different authors as well as, emphasized on
those articles that are related to research issues (C, S. K., and Timalsina, 2016).
Designing the outline of the literature review
In the literature review, I have focused on outline the research topic such as an online
shopping model, customer buying behavior on online platforms, and popular online sites
in Nepal. I have also emphasized on advantages of online shopping and its impact on
customer buying behavior, and consumer attitude towards online shopping in Nepal. It

was beneficial for gaining depth understanding regarding research concerns (Monsuwé,
Dellaert, and Ruyter, 2004).
Writing up the literature review
For writing up the literature review, I have also emphasized on providing a proper in-text
citation, and references in each paragraph. I have also focused on different kinds of
factors such as grammatical issues, and Plagiarism issues (Anon, 2011).
3. Research methodology
Discussions about methods
Throughout the research project, I have developed my understanding that different
sources of data collection could be used such as primary and secondary sources. I
learned that the main source of collecting the primary data such as survey, and
questionnaire. I have also noticed that the key source of gathering the secondary data is
from journal, newsletter, and articles. It would be also applied by me in the future in
terms of generating the data (Bell, Bryman, and Harley, 2018).
Sampling
In the research project, I have focused on people who live in Kathmandu. Along with
this, I have considered a few numbers of male and female who have experience in
online shopping.
Questionnaire
From business research course, I have emphasized on developing a questionnaire.
This learning was applied by me in developing questionnaire such as I have used to
multiple choice and Dichotomous question (William, James, and Arora, 2015).
Throughout the research project, I have increased my experience that questions were
asked to obtain all the required data as well as, to see that the participants can answer
them with case. This structure adopted by me to get support in assessing the
information. I have also enhanced my experience that research report is associated with
Nepal. In the questionnaire part, I was unable to obtain exact information associated
with our report hence, my team members have tried to read the secondary information
as well as, obtain the required data for creating the report. I have taken the data through
research performed by Kaymu where, it Kaymu is online shopping channel in Nepal.
Data analysis and interpretation
From business research course, it is observed that MS-excel software could be used to
represent the coding data into graphical form. This learning was applied by me during a
research project in terms of data analysis and interpretation. In a research project, I
have distributed the data on the basis of age, gender, and working life. I have also
categorized the data according to reason to shop online, products or services usually
purchase online, timing to buy for a domestic or foreign company, and payment method.
I have also focused on some aspects in data analysis and interpretation such as the
difference in quality, the problem in shopping online, access to the internet, the problem
in delivery time, after sales service, and warranty or guarantee on the product (Zikmund,
2012).
I have developed my understanding that data is analysed as well as, interpreted by
using different segments. These are e-commerce activity in Nepal segmented through
age group, and percentage of male vs female e-commerce activity. Along with this, I
have observed that data is analysed and interpreted by considering some aspects such

as, Social Media, Geographic Trend, Affinity (User interest), Market Segment, and Brand
Loyalty. It would be beneficial for me to conduct further research.
4. Distilling the findings from the data
During the research project, I distilling the findings from gathered information on the
basis of graphs and tables. It helps to find the data in a comprehensible manner. I would
like to use the same experience in the future in terms of obtaining further research.
5. Writing up the Project Report
In the writing-up project report, I have emphasized on some aspects such as spelling
errors, ethical issues, and academic writing style. It helped me to write the research
report in a comprehensible manner (William, James, and Arora, 2015).
6. Reflecting on the research experience, insights gained, teamwork
During the research, I have faced some challenges due to the lack of support of some
team members. But, at the same time, some team members were supportive that helps
me to reach a valid conclusion. I have gained my insights about research design and
data collection method that would be applied by me in the future in terms of conducting
further research. In my team, three members have performed their responsibilities
towards finding the research issues. This teamwork has supported to easily complete
the project report in a specified time period (Bell, Bryman, and Harley, 2018).
Conclusion
The above discussion helps me to conclude the point that I have learned throughout the
business research course and project report. From the research project, I have
developed my understanding regarding approval of topic, search process in literature
review as well as, implementation of feasible research design, data collection methods,
and data analysis and interpretation. I have also improved my learning throughout the
business research course related to the qualitative and quantitative research process. It
also supports me to conduct further research in the future and helps to make my career
in electronic marketing.
