This document provides a detailed account of a student's experience in a Business Research Project (BGP7730), spanning from Week 1 to Week 12. The project focused on 'Customer Acceptance for Product Innovation.' The student, initially absent, joined a group and navigated challenges in topic selection, BRP/BRQ development, and questionnaire design. The project involved data collection via online questionnaires, analysis using methods like regression and ANOVA, and a final PowerPoint presentation. The reflection highlights the learning process, emphasizing teamwork, diversity, and the importance of timely enrollment. The student discusses personal contributions, challenges faced, and lessons learned throughout the research process, including data analysis and interpretation. The project culminated in a presentation incorporating infographics and graphs, showcasing the research methodology and outcomes.

Week 1
Dr Evi Lanasier, our lecturer, introduced us to the outline of the subject BGP7730 Business
Research project in the first week of class. Precisely and in short, the significance and
implication of the subject in future were discussed. The course program had been explained by
our fellow lecturers. In the classroom, topics such as powerpoint presentations and paperwork
was also comprehended in details. We were instructed to form a team and select a particular
topic on which the final project would be based with the help of research thesis and articles.
Since I did not return from my holiday retreat, I was unable to attend the class.
Week 2
Nearly all the groups/teams were prepared with their selected subject for the research in the next
week. The groups/teams took their prepared topic to the lecturer for approval. Nevertheless, there
had been approval on various topics by the lecturer. Certain topics, which seemed irrelevant,
were requested by the lecturer to the students to be revisited and rebuilt again. I couldn’t enrol
myself for the research, the reason being issues regarding allocation, as I was absent from the
curriculum classes. For the second week too, I missed the classes again.
Week 3
However, I received the opportunity of attending the class on the third week as I was registered
quite a few days ago before the curriculum classes began in the third phase. I had been given
instructions to join any of the groups as I delayed in class. However, the groups/teams were
already created. We had to make a group of four people who were not present for the first time
and was also not involved with any group earlier. The research thesis topic had to be chosen and
finalized by us as soon as possible along with Management Development Program (MDP) as

instructed by our lecturer. “Customer Acceptance for Product Innovation” was the research
thesis topic that we, as a group, chose and was also permitted by the lecturer.
Week 4
The task that was allotted to us on the 1st week was working on Business Research Problems
(BRP) and Business Research Questions (BRQ). The lecturer who was appointed for us helped
us in the BRP and BRQ when we framed and provided her with our own BRP. Through the
program, we came to know about the reliance of MDP on BRP with its correlating BRQs. In
order to find out about MDPs, we have taken the aid of specific research journals and articles.
For the research purposes of our group, we were asked to begin our work on the development of
the hypothesis based on the BRP and MDP.
Week 5
We were supposed to submit our Business Proposals on the respective day. The completed
proposal of our group consisted of an executive summary, background, research objectives,
literature review and Conceptual framework as the content for the curriculum. The resultant
position of the respective report, regarding the advancement we made and whether the report had
the ability to cater to all the needs or not were provided to us by our lecturer. Our group as well
as the other teams/ groups were guided by our professors and lecturers about whether we were
heading into correct direction or not. The first assignment, on that day, was completed by us in
the classroom by the end of the time period. The project proposal of our group was submitted to
the lecturer by Kaushal Joshi, who was also a member of our team/group.

Week 6
The lecturer was about to produce us with an assessment report for the research proposal we
have organized from our team. A precise and brief assessment was handed over to the persons
who happened to submit their previous assignment. Our research proposal was distinguished into
two sections; therefore, our lecturers commented that our research proposal was inconsistent. On
the first half, the MDP and the literature review showed the optimum consistency with each
other. In the second half, the literature review and the MDP did not show any kind of consistency
with each other that included hypothesis and conceptual framework. In order to make it credible,
we had been instructed to amend the either part as per the other part. As I found out that the first
part, which was literature review and MDP, to be hectic and time-consuming in amending it
according to the second part, which was hypothesis and conceptual framework. Therefore, we
decided to amend the second portion, which was conceptual framework and hypothesis.
Week 7
Edited and amended report was provided by us to the lecturer. We had been given instructions by
our lecturer to frame and develop our BRP as well as BRQs respectively. We were given the
instructions to write the BRQ accurately and aptly by our lecturer. Along with the proper write
up with appropriate requisites, she also gave us directions to modify it according to the
necessities.
Week 8
We were, in this week, given the instructions to develop writing questionnaires for our research
project. The making of questionnaire required high skills regarding the different types of

showed us the way by which we had to write down the questions, however, unfortunately, we
were not able to complete it on time. However, due to such case, she instructed us to give her an
electronic mail by compiling the questionnaires so that she would be able to check them
according to her convenience.
Week 9
We were provided approval and permission for collection of data after our questionnaires were
approved by the lecturer. There was no need to be physically present in the class while on data
collection. When we jumped into the collection of data, we understood the best way to collect
data, which would save time and resources yet be reliable, was online collection. To make it
online, we prepared questionnaires in applications like Google doc and made it viral to all the
families and friends we had. Therefore, the process became lucid and swift.
Week 10
We had to begin with our data collection methods. To make things easier, we collected the
names of our friends and families all over the globe and sent them the Google docs via electronic
mail. Since it is completely ambiguous and impractical to come door to door for filling up forms
and as time is as valuable as money nowadays, we applied the respective method to make the
process clear and smooth.
Week 11
In the respective week, we had to do the task of analysis and interpretation of the data we
collected in order to make it a final report along with a presentation we had to deliver on the 12th
week of our module. Various methods such as analysis of regression pattern in the data,
were not able to complete it on time. However, due to such case, she instructed us to give her an
electronic mail by compiling the questionnaires so that she would be able to check them

ANNOVA Test, the visualization of the data collected through analysis in the form of
questionnaires, along with presentation which we had to prepare for the upcoming week were
done. We had also prepared several slides for the upcoming week presentation day.
Week 12
We had to deliver a powerpoint presentation with the help of different infographics such as pie
charts and histograms about the topic for our data collection, the procedure we followed in the
data collection process and what were the outcomes respectively. According to the terms of BRP,
we have entered all the infographics and graphs in the powerpoint presentation. A separate slide
of research methodology had been added extra by us so that the viewers of the presentation get
clarity about the data collection methods and techniques we have used. We added
recommendations as well as limitations too.
Personal Reflection
I personally believe the fact that we learn from everything. However, the research project has
made me learn about diversity. Co-ordination and synchronization with diversity where different
mindset and perspectives collide, though it is a difficult matter to deal with, was acquired by me.
I, unfortunately, began the research work on the third week of the calendar date from where it
was started; I was alienated and estranged in the middle of the curriculum without any group to
belong to even though the topic of the research needed a group in order to be executed. Our
respected professor Dr. Evi Lanasier kindly helped me out of the situation by giving me
instructions to make a separate group for all four (four of us were late) of us and start with our
work.

Group work has always been challenging and rewarding for me in spite of all kinds of
adversities. At first, we were given instruction to choose out topic. First of all, we all were
behind the whole class because we entered in the project late and moreover, the diversity in the
group created cultural and communication clashes. While determining the topic of the research,
all four of us brought four different issues which led to an utter chaos. After a plethora of
intellectual brainstorming discussions with the group members, we finally decided to adhere to
Customer Acceptance towards Product Innovation” as our research topic for the respective
subject. The “Innovative” factor in our topic mesmerized and intrigued me as in the global
world, businesses are based on innovation and so do the customers look for in the products and
services, providing a competitive advantage to the firms.
The data analysis and the interpretation part, in the project, had been provided, explained and
materialized by me apart from collection of data and the theoretical parts of the research work
because I believe that I know the art of interpretation. I learnt basic competencies such as Excel
from Kaushal Joshi which would help me in my future.
Every team/group faces problems, and we were no exceptions. However, no matter whatever
problem we faced, we were able to solve the issues with our efficiency and relentless efforts.
Throughout the research project, I learnt few factors, which were: not to be delayed in enrolment
of the classes that conducts assessments and projects in groups because the disparity and
differences between the level of zest and eagerness to do the tasks create troubles in the group.
The trouble is created as the person, who has been involved in executing matters in the group
faces clashes with the people who does not take part in the happenings and are passive in the
group.
