INTRODUCTION
Business culture and responsibility means the goals and value are shared by each
individual that are working within an organisation. General Motors (GM) company, it is an
American multinational corporation where it designs, markets, manufactures and distribute
vehicles and parts and sell financial services. This report highlights the benefit of minimising the
waste and the procedure that use to recycle waste and to maintain equipment. Also suggest
various way to reduce waste in business workplace and how it implement one of the suggestion
and find impact of change. This report also reveal diversity in business and its benefit of its and
how organisation promote it at workplace. Business environment confidentially and security are
important and ensure that all property and information are kept secure with legal requirement.
Report also reveal to find risk within workplace and identify way of risk and has its impact &
likelihood of risk. In this regard present report has been made that involves business culture and
its responsibility.

A) Benefits of keeping waste to minimum.
` As it is common that when a company manufactures any product wastage arises. So when
these wastage is controlled, the company gets many benefits as it can help in cost saving,
reduction waste in the General Motors helps in reducing overall operational cost on number of
levels(Mann, 2017). Through Sustainable waste management company improves reputation and
corporate image with Customers, employees and stake holders. Reduction of wastage helps in
protecting the environment as less the wastage the less amount of space is occupied in the
workplace. By minimising wastage more amount of goods are produced with less raw materials.
Reduction in wastage assist the General Motors in reducing pollution in the company. As
less amount of scarp is generated the more cleaner is the the atmosphere, thus boost
environmental performance by increasing the efficiency of production. It helps the General
motors in reducing waste disposal cost, the less the scrap the less amount is paid by the company
in disposal of it. Thus, assist in cost saving and the amount saved is used by the organisation in

B) Procedure of recycling, disposal of waste and maintaining equipments.
General Motors is a car manufacturing company. When the vehicles reaches its
maximum lifetime. The company do recycle of it. As the process used by the organisation is as
follows: The tyres and batteries are removed manually. After this step any fuel or liquid are
drained. After this whole car is disassembled and vehicle spare parts are only stored when they
are in condition for reuse. The remaining shell of the vehicle subject to further processing which
involves removal of air conditioner evaporator, heat core etc. in this way whole recycling process
works(Dhillon, Syed and Pedron, 2016).
During normal vehicle maintenance fluids such as engine oil , barke oil etc are collected
in some container and after that these are disposed of the use of different machines. General
Motors use antifreeze techniques to dispose the waste. The equipments and machines which are
used in the recycling and disposal process, are maintained periodically as quality and conditions
of the equipments are checked and any further improvements are required are made by the
General Motors so that chances of errors in recycling and disposal process gets reduced.
C) Suggest ways to reduce waste in business environment.
There are some ways which helps in reduction of wastage in General Motors. These are
as follows:
Advance technology By the use of latest and and advance manufacturing machines. General
Motors can reduce the amount of wastage generated in the manufacturing process. As now days
so advance machines are there in market the company can adopt that, thus more amount of
output is generated with less input of raw materials. Thus, minimising the waste.
Recycling Recycling is the process by which wastage can be reduced which arises from
manufacturing process, in this process the waste arises is used in some other process, thus this
helps in reduction of overall wastage. Most amount of scrap is recycled and the residue left is
less. Thus, this is an effective way by which wastage in the business environment can be

Continuous monitoring By continuous monitoring the reduction in wastage can be reduced. In

purpose the strategy implemented is as follows :

The company has decided to implement use of modern technology in the company. So
for this the organisation is making aware the employees about the new technology, What is the
new machines and why the new technology is being used by the company all this are
communicated to the employees. As the purpose for adopting advance technology in business is
to reduce the wastage arising in manufacturing process. For implementing this change GM is
providing various training and development programmes to the workers so that they can learn
how to make use of new machines, what are their roles on that machines(Wood and Logsdon,
2017). Training is provided so that the worker can work efficiently and optimum use of the
machines can be made. The GM is making new policies and framework which assist in
implementing the change. General motors is hiring new talented candidates who has knowledge
about new technology so that change can be implemented as fast as possible.
E) Evaluation of impact of change.
General Motors has implemented the use of advance technology so that the amount of
waste generated can be reduced. This impacted in such a way that the cost of of the company
