INTRODUCTION
Business skills are the primarily behaviour which help an individual to attain the
necessary workplace task. Therefore, these skills mainly includes communication, influencing,
negotiating and line management skills that helps to lead a business at further level of success.
The report will describe the skill audit by using Brunel skills audit tool and determine the
strength, weaknesses by using SWOT analysis, which is the strategic tool. Further, report will
use professional development plan in order to overcome the weaknesses and show how these
skills are able to find an employment in hotel or in hospitality industry.
Skill Audit
Skill audit is that process which is used for measuring and recording the skills of a person
or a group. Basically, skill audit is done to determine the skill and knowledge which a company
mainly requires and skills that a individual is already posses (Adams, Akyol and Verwijmeren,
2018). Therefore, to conduct this, Brunel skill audit is used that helps to understand the strength
and skills which need to improve. This is as mention below:

SWOT
In order to determine my current strength and weaknesses, I use SWOT analysis that
helps me to identify the capabilities, which may help to grab future opportunities (Gürel and Tat,
2017). SWOT is an strategic management tool that is mainly used for identifying capabilities and
imperfection. Therefore, this is as mention below:
Strength:
 I have good presentation skills as well as communication skills that helps to motivate
other.
 I always innovate different ideas and creative in mind such that I generate different ideas
in order to find out some complex issues.
 I posses strong critical thinking that helps me to be able to work productively with others
in order to solve the issues. Through this skill, I use different methods of exploring a
problem even though it is academic or non- academic.
 I am able to work under pressure which shows my calm personality, I have passion
towards my work and having effective critical knowledge help me to complete the work
in systematic manner.
 I posses string financing skills because I done my post graduation in financing and it
describe that I have strong numeracy skills.
Weaknesses:

 Though I posses strong critical thinking abilities but I cannot manage the times according
to time which shows that I lack time management skills.
 I also lack string leadership skills in which I cannot provide effective direction to my
team members and this should be improved for attaining the future goals.
 I also lack some technical as well as managerial skills such that I did not easily handle
advance technique and manage the work accordingly, which leads to affect the entire
work culture.
 Apart from this, I also lack some decision-making skills and it is so because of having
emotional attachment with others and this leads to delay in decisions.
Opportunities:
 As I posses strong communication skills which help me to read and write things in
systematic manner and due to string critical thinking abilities, I also leads to take better
decision and this helps me to attain the future goals that is to be a Hotel Manage of top
brands.
 I also posses good financial and organizing skills which is also required to attain the goal
because Hotel manager must be multitasker and this skill help me to to leads towards my
future goals.
Threats:
 I face threat from the competition in the world who posses the same qualification which I
already done and it is so because it leads to job uncertainty.
 I face threat from the weaknesses which I currently face because it may create hindrance
in my future goal path and may also affect to attain the goal in negative way, that is why
it is necessary to overcome this imperfection (Phadermrod, Crowder and Wills, 2019).
