INTRODUCTION
In order to perform a job, it is important to possess certain set of skills so that the job can
be performed effectively and efficiently. In this context, it includes skills like leadership,
problem solving, decision making, communication, etc. (Calero and Gil-Izquierdo, 2014). These
set of skills enables individual to put on their full efforts in achieving organizational goals and
objectives. As per the case, there are three tasks in which first one is to make comparison among
two different type of styles used in newspaper article. The second tasks is about developing CV
as per the vacant post. Lastly, it covers the response to newspaper article.
TASK 1

Target audience in each case:
The type of news style which is used in the given article is sentence structure,
encompasses vocabulary, intended audience, and information provided is in terms of relative
importance. In context, both articles can be contrasted and compared with the help of these
aspects. In addition to this, different characters are presented in the article and they are related
with intended audience. With this respect, it includes human interest, proximity, timeliness,
consequence and prominence. The difficulty and length is decided as per the influence of
intended audience. Both new articles are intended to grab attention of general audience. In this
context, first news article focus on making people aware regarding the issue which is faced in
Euro because of tourism scam and provide proper knowledge related with the topic. On the other
hand, second news article is developed in order to make people aware regarding job. With this
respect, it can be state that both news articles aims at providing their readers with two different
topics.
In article 1, focus on providing information to audience which has proper information
related to legislations, politics, Conservative Party, etc. Moreover, it includes the people who
migrate to other countries in search of job. On the other hand, article 2 aim at providing their
employees information related to the security which is provided to employees within the firm.
Further, both news articles make use of technical language.

Effect on the writing style as a result of targeting an audience:
In first article, there are not heading and subheading involved. Complete article is written
in paragraphs and they cover all the adequate information related to the topic. Further, one of the
common thing in both articles is that there are no billboards in both articles and it is very
important element to structure the article. All the actual information related to news topic is
covered. All the original facts has been presented in both articles. In article 1, there is head lead
which helps the reader to provide information related to article. However, in article 2, soft lead
has been used which develops interest and also helps to seek attention.
Writer can make use of two different type of styles to write a news article, they are
tabloid journalism and broadsheet journalism. Article 1 make use of broadsheet journalism. This
is a type of style in which there are considered points of view. Further, it also conforms to
perspective and editorial style. On the other hand, in article 2 tabloid journalism style is used.
These type of journalism is of two pages. However, when compared with first articles, it makes
use of more deductive language. Further, article 2 has more of sensationalized impact over the
reader or audience.
Effect of use of quotations on the reader:
When compared with article 2, article 1 has more of quotations and it is made used the
way which people have spoken. The use of quotations develop interest of readers as it is very
helpful in reducing the risk of misreporting. On the other hand, quotations which are used in
article 2 are very less but it is able to develop interest because of the facts which are presented in
it. Further, through quotations, writer is able to present the information in a narrative style. It is
suggested not to make use of defamatory words in quotes which is used in article 2 and this is
suggested because it do not offer any legal protection. In addition to this, descriptive words can
stand by themselves even if quotation marks are not used. Further, in both the articles, there are
no images used. This is a negative impact over the viewer. This is because, there are many
audiences who prefer to go through the news when there are any type of image given. This is
very helpful to develop interest of people and also provide proper information regarding the
issues on which the writer is talking about.
Relative usefulness of each article:
Both article 1 and 2 are useful as they both provide proper information related the topic.
Both have proper facts and information which enables the audience to understand it and to know

the issues which prevail in the society. The main issue which both have is that there is no image
in the news article and because of which there are changes that it may not create interest of
readers to go through it.

important to conduct self analysis and the job should be searched as per the experience and

TASK 3
As per the article, Tory minister stated that the employees who are below the age of 25
should not be provided with living wage and the reason for this statement is that they are not
productive. In the budget of summer, for the people whose age groups is below 25 were
announced minimum wage details. In this context, the minimum wage which provided for the
age group of workers below 25 is £6.70 an hour to £7.20. As per the case, it is not just against
workers under 25 years and they should be paid wages according to other employees.
As per the data, it has been found that people who are reach the age of 16 start their part
time job and they live separate form their parents (Martinho and Parente, 2015). This type of step
is mainly taken by youngster in order to be dependent. When they are not provided with living
wages, then they get demotivated and it becomes difficult for them to survive. In the course of

becoming dependent, responsibilities are taken by people related to student fee, food,
accommodation, etc. In order to fill up their student fee, they take up full time or part-time job.
This enable them to become independent or self dependent and to take up on more
responsibilities. This should that cutting out the minimum wage is proved to be unjust and unfair
to employees understand 25. In addition to this, there are also people under 25 years who have
families and for them it becomes very much difficult and unjust of cutting out wages.
It is from the age of 18 to 20 when youngsters start up their career. This is an age group
in which people get to know where they stand and what is their potential level. When they are
not provided with proper wages, then there are cases in which they develop a feeling they will
not be able to perform effectively (Brunello, Weber and Weiss, 2016). They also think that they
are less worthy compared with older adults. This highly affects their productivity and
performance level. In this context, demotivation would lead to lack of dedication, uninspired
youth, low concentration, etc.
Step which is taken by government is not fair and young people user the age of 25 are
productive compared with older workers. With this respect, it can also be stated that the amount
of work which is done by older workers are same in order to run a house. It includes work like
protecting one self form getting harm, for medicines, house rent, food, etc. (Contreras, Sánchez
and Soria, 2012). In addition to this, it has been noticed that the work which is given to
youngsters involve lot more risk compared with old care workers and still they are not given with
the minimum wage for the risk, determination, hard work and dedication. Further, the rate of
employment is raising at an increasing rate. From this it can be stated that the rate of
employment under 25 years is just double them old care workers. Form this fact, youngsters
should be included in new higher rate. However, if they are not involved, then this will be a type
of discrimination against youngsters.
Different people have diverse set of skills and knowledge. When one take about young
people, they have the energy and capability to think differently (Euwals, 2014). When they are
provided with proper wages, then it negatively affects the productivity and performance and they
fail to put on their full efforts in supporting their firm and society.
Older people do have experience, energy, knowledge and also do contribute effectively
towards the development of country but these the amount of work which is done by young
people should not be neglected. They help the organization to come up with changes with the

help of which they can achieve their goals and objectives (Brunello, Weber and Weiss, 2016).
They posses, hard work, energy, enthusiasm, skills etc. which are helpful to make the
organization successful. Moreover, there are many cases in which older workers do not prefer to
perform certain set of job but for young people it is nothing like that as they have just started up
their work so that will put on their full efforts towards the roles and responsibilities provided to
them.
In order to drive the society to reach their goals and objectives, it is important to have
proper support of youngsters and their efforts. However, it is important that they should be
included in the higher wage so that they get motivated that support the society and economy of
the country.
CONCLUSION
From the above given news articles, first one is close to Academic style. However, one of
the main issues which both the articles lack of images. There are many cases in which people
ignore the news just because it do not have images in it. The use of quotations has helped the
first article to make it realistic. Over all the both articles are good as they have lot of facts and
research do and also helps the reader to understand the issues. Further, for any individual, it is
important that analysis should be done for the post on which one wants to apply and accordingly
CV should be develop. This helps to show the efficiency and capability which one possess.
Lastly, young workers should be provided with high wages like other so that they do not feel
discriminated and support the country to grow.
