INTRODUCTION
This present report is based on two news articles where one writer is discussing the
problems which he has seen in Beirut, Lesbos and Calais. The first article emphasized on the
problems which migrant faces in the refugee camp and they are not getting any help from the
France or British government. On the contrary side, the second article focuses on the
development which has taken place in the Calais 'jungle' migrant camp which has now become a
mini city as it has come up facilities like restaurants, theaters, free Wi-Fi, books shops etc.

This assessment has been done to find different approaches taken by the writers in
describing the situation which exists in the refugee camp at Calais. In the first article, the writer
is focusing on problems which refugee faces in the jungle. Further, no relative measure is taken
either by the French or British government to solve this situation (Bailey, J. and Mitchell, 2006).
Writer also emphasizing on that no protection is given to children along with facilities of food
and health. Writer also gave his views on condition of Dunkirk and said that the conditions there
are much more violent than that of Calais. There is no proper shelter for refugees and they even
do not have proper sanitation facilities as well.

closer to the shores. These people are suffering from cold and various diseases, exploitation and
sexual violence, wars and disputes, etc. At last, the writer has shown his feelings and gratitude
towards the problems and wants that British-French government should join hands together to
solve this precise problem which is affecting life of the refugees (White, 2015).
