INTRODUCTION
It has been analysed that the human has a ability to save the environment from the
harmful effects. It is very essential for the human beings to adopt to the various sustainable
development practices which can enhance in the workings and the operational activities. This is
identified as the ability of the use of the resources and meeting the needs of the current
requirement without comprising the future generations. The sustainable development plays a
major role in today's scenario and increase in the more technology there is a lot of unethical
practices conducted by the individual and the organisation(Dorobantu, and et.al., 2018). This is
the report which is based on the discussion over the concept of sustainability and its impact on
the long term competitive advantage. Further it will include the various attributes or capability of
an which are essential for the business success in such a complex and changing environment.

The concept of sustainability
The concept of the sustainability is defined as the ability to exist and develop without
depleting natural resources for the future. The sustainable development is defied as meeting the
needs of the current generation without compromising the future generation needs it related to
the use of the resources in an effective and efficient way. It has been identified that there are the
three pillars of the sustainability which are discussed below:
Environmental protection- This is the most frequently discussed element of the
sustainability it is related to the organisation where they need to reduce the carbon
footprint, water usage and non decomposable packaging and other waste full aspect in
order to protect environment from the harmful effects. The environment sustainability
plays a major role in the development of the organisation. (Crifo, Escrig-Olmedo, and
Mottis, 2019).
Social development- This is related to the treating people and the employees within the
organisation in a fair manner. This ensures about the responsible, ethical and sustainable
manner in order to treat employees within the organisation. The social development
includes the treatment of the various people who are related to the organisation and

developing the social impact within the workplace. This develops a sustainable manner in
which the company is operating its business activities.
Economic development- this is related to the most easiest sustainability where it is very
essential for the organisation to adopt the economic development. This means that an
organisation should be profitable and able to produce the products or services in order to
be sustainable continue for the future. this is most important for the organisation in order
to earn enough revenues in order to sustain themselves within the market(Cantele, and
Zardini, 2020).
Impact on the long term competitive advantage
it has been identified that there is the positive impact of the sustainable development over
the business organisation and has competitive advantage. For example there are several digital
companies which is focusing on the sustainable development practices in order to reduce the
carbon footprint which is attracting customers. The use of the technology is taking over the
market for the companies which are using the manual process. Also the government is
supporting the new startups which are taking initiative in the sustainable development and this
has a competitive advantage in order to attract customers. For example, if the company Marks
and Spencer is taking initiative in developing the clothes from the natural resources which can
help the organisation attracting customers and also have a competitive advantage for the long
term growth and success(Kashyap, and Lakhanpal, 2019)

It the changing environment and with the complexities it is very essential for the organisation to
adopt to the various sustainable practices which can lead to the growth and success. There are
various capabilities of the organisation which need to be considered in order to have the success
for the business enterprise which are discussed below;
adopt the paperless documents- this is considered as the most important aspect which
the organisation is capable of adopting. In order to reduce the cutting down of trees and
the natural resources the company can focus on adopting the use of the technology in
order to maintain records and other information.

Reuse paper and plastic bags- this is the most important practice which need to be
considered by every business organisation in order to have the success. This means that
the companies should stop using and giving the products in the plastic poly bags which is
harmful for the environment. This can help the organisation in being sustainable and
taking the step towards saving the environment(Caiazza, Galloppo, and Paimanova,
2021)
It is very important for the organisation to change its structure of performing the different
task which can lead to the sustainability. As the social development is equally important for the
organisation where it is essential for the company to treat their employees in a fair manner. s

From the above report it has been concluded that sustainable is the most significant
aspect for the business organisation in order to have growth and success. It is essential that the

development. It is necessary for the organisation to adopt the several practices practices such as
