Marina Tran-Vu, a proud Canadian of Vietnamese origin, came up with the idea for
EQUO in 2019. Her journey began when she came to Vietnam to help her family. In a
country famous for its coffee, she discovered one of the many coffee shops in the city,
where she stumbled upon the first product in the EQUO line: grass straws. The main
purpose build a sustainable future, support local economic growth newborn and create
jobs from her parent's homeland, and envision Vietnam as a global leader in
sustainability and innovation, she decided to take a bold step herself to bring truly eco-
friendly solutions to the world. Through the sustainable brand EQUO, she embarked on
a journey to make positively impact on environment.
EQUO is derived from the combination of the words "ECO," meaning environmentally
friendly, and "STATUS QUO," referring to the current state or condition. It represents
the ideal of creating products that have minimal impact on the environment.
Mission: EQUO's mission is to design products by harnessing the raw power of Mother
Nature to replace single-use plastics. We are unwavering in our commitment to
providing truly eco-friendly solutions for everyday items. All our products are 100%
natural, non-toxic, chemical-free, biodegradable, and compostable.
