Academic skills refers to the strategies, abilities and habits which can help the learners in
succeeding into the academic setting. Academic skills are important because it help in terms of
increasing the confidence level, self esteem and competence as well. When there is effective
academic skills, then the individual may be able to cut down on the number of hours spend on
studying and leaving time for other things in the life(Alharahsheh and Pius., 2021). The present
report will cover discussion about the reason of higher education academic skills are crucial for
success and also about the variety of academic skills. In addition to this, the report will cover

it is easier to reduce the number of hours spend on studying and also have more time for other
things in life. As there are different number of skills which are very important from the academic
point of view. Without developing proper skill, it is very challenging to create a proper base for
the degree and without skills it is impossible to grow into right direction within shorter period of
time. The main important academic skills basically include Research skills, Referencing skills,
structure and academic tone and time management as well(Bhagra and Sharma., 2018).

important to understand these skills into deeper terms. Research skill is helpful for students
because it can help students in terms of gathering and analysing information as well. It also
contribute for building knowledge, think critically and exercise the mind as well. Research skill
is that skill which help a student beyond their academic life and also enables to understand
students regarding the world around them into better terms.

Another skill which is referencing skill which help in terms of avoiding plagiarism
through making it clear which ideas are their own and which are someone else. It also shows the
understanding about the topic and also gives supporting evidence for the arguments, opinions. It
also help in terms of allowing others to identify the sources which have been used. Referencing
skill help in terms of making the matter more relevant, to the point and evident as well due to
which it is easier to make the matter more practical in terms of nature (Hardy and et.al., 2020).
Structure and academic tone skill also help the student in terms of giving the written work a
polished feeling and structure gives the matter an appropriate format for delivering the content.
The structure of the content makes the matter more organised, arranged and easy to adapt as well
due to which it is comfortable for the reader to read the matter into more accurate terms. So
structure is very important within the academic writing.
An academic tone help in better relating the audience needs, emotions, wants and
interests as well. When the better can relate then stronger will be the engagement with the
content will be. Another skill which is time management skill is very important from the student
point of view because this skill help the student in terms of managing every aspect of their life
into positive terms. Management of time basically enables the student in terms of becoming
more confident, organised and learn into more efficient terms as well. Effective time
management is necessary for high school students because they have to deal with more tests,
subjects, extracurricular activities and assignments as well. So these are the four important

and management. It has been concluded that for achieving success in business and management
it is very important to have certain kind of skills. When the application of these skills have been

observed that without academic skills it is not possible to achieve the things within shorter period
of time. So in the overall manner, there are certain skills such as research skill, structure and
academic tone, time management and referencing skill also act as support system for further
development and growth of an individual. Within the academic setting it is important to have
proper knowledge, experience and skills so that outer world accept the individual into result
