well as competitive in nature (Beckford, 2020). In this report there is a detailed examination of a
company named Business United which is a private college that is geographically located in
London and is operating in this industry for a much longer time period as compared to its

TASK (PROJECT 2)
Examination and analysis of the general theories that are related with the organisational
communication as a whole
Communication is one of the most essential aspect and thus it is very important as well as
crucial for each and every firm that is operating in the current market irrespective of the industry
in which it is working to keep the chain of communication intact so that it can help the company
in performing in a better way in the market in which it is operational. There are a number of
general theories of it but the major ones are four in number and all of them are explained in
detail below with context to the above mentioned enterprise-
Critical theory- It is a theory that says that it is the nature of each and every organisation
to have internal conflicts since all the workers that are working for the company are not from the
same region or are of the same gender so it is very common to have conflicts in the firm. Thus it
is very important that the higher management authorities and team must try to motivate the
employee’s on a regular basis so that the goals and objectives of the company can be achieved in
the stipulated time period (Bowen, 2018). Since Business United is a private college it also faces
the same problem but the higher management of it are well educated and are experienced too that

controls all the negative situations and helps in the growth and development of the company in
the long run.
Information theory- It is a theory that is related with the passing of the information
without being altered much as it is very common that the message that is conveyed by the higher
team when reaches to the lower team or when the message of superior reaches subordinate it is
changes and thus losses its core value. Business United maintains an intact chain that helps in
direct communication of all the individuals that are working in the company resulting in
minimising the errors that are caused due to the altercation of the messages.
Post-positive theory- It is a theory that says that order is the natural condition of a
company and thus it is very important as well as necessary for all the persons that are working
for the company to follow all the rules and regulations that are framed at the starting. Also it says
that occurrence of misunderstanding, conflicts, and other things like that are unacceptable and
must not occur on a frequent manner in the company. Business United tends to maintain a
friendly environment among its workers and in the enterprise too so that people can feel a
connection with the company and can perform to the best of their abilities and thus resulting in
accomplishment of the desired goals and that too within a limited time frame (Keith, Jamieson
and Bennetto, 2019).
Groupware theory- It is a theory which is related with the use of technological
advancement so that it can cater the needs and requirements of the company and thus by this the
firm can gain advantage over other rivals that are operating in the similar market conditioning.
Business United uses advanced technology for its daily use so that it can help in the optimum
utilisation of the available resources and also it can prove beneficial in reducing the cost and
subsequently increasing the profitability of the organisation.

because of the pandemic and hence it makes difficult for the students to interact with other
colleagues and they feel isolated at times which impacts their studies as well.

task to focus on studies.

results in decreased performance of the individuals (Murphy, Gerber and Pruitt, 2018).

barriers that are prevailing in the process of communication
