Introduction
In this present scenario, it is essential for individuals to conduct a self-reflection so as to
determine to weaken areas so as to make necessary improvements. Basically, self-reflection
is thinking about something in a serious and deliberate manner; it is also known as a repeated
problem-solving process (Austin and Pinkleton, 2015 ). The present report will include
certain concepts which help people to achieve future goals or objectives. It will define or
summarize the concepts that have been learned from the unit; furthermore, week 1 to 10
signifies different aspects of effective communication and how it enables people to interact
with each other. For this entire discussion, a thesis statement will make upon week 1 and
provide in-depth information about different attributes of communication.

Section 1
The essay will reflect my learning during week 1 to week 10. In which, week 1 in this study
which delivers the information about its significance at the workplace, different
communication models, purpose and theories of communication and ethics in communication
so as to understand diversity in communication. In addition to this, communication plays a
critical role in coordinating and sustaining professional working life within organizations; in
order to take imperative business decisions, it is essential for managers’ to make proper
interaction with employees (Bramhall, 2014). It enables managers to perform functions like –
planning, organizing, leading and controlling in the best possible manner. In multinational
organizations, communication is a key or source of transacting information to among
employees and managers for making imperative decisions. It determines and evaluates the
alternative course of action.
In week 2nd I learned about different methods of communication, such as – verbal, written and
non-verbal. It also highlights the significance of effective listening within organizational
environment as with this activity we can listens other perspectives and it cannot be done with
effective communication. Furthermore, it also includes proxemics which is study of human
use of space and how it affects population density on individuals’ way of communication as
well as social interaction (Lyndon, et. al., 2015). The theory is usually acquired in non-verbal
communication theories.
The study of third week is all about written skills of an individual that possesses while
working in an organization. In large multinational association, numerous mails or letters
received by managers related with business practices and processes. It enlightens that
effective written communication makes people able to formulate attractive mails, memos and
relevant documents. As a student, this week study is supportive for me to write different
reports.
Week 4 is a continuation of week 3, in which we have learned different ways to written
reports. It focused on proper use of grammar, correct sentences, paragraph writing and so on
things which makes a report more attractive and plagiarismfree. Here, plagiarism is a
different aspect which intends to make effective writing and ensure that matter is not copied
from other sites.

In week 5 I got to know about how to write academic essays, this study includes provide
necessary attributes which enables to formulate an attractive essay. As a student, I have to
write in several essays so that this week provides me knowledge, i.e. how to write essays by
collecting information from different sources.
This study of week 6 put light on skills of public speaking, as working in an organization it is
essential for people to use such words that enables to influence or motivate others to perform
in well-being manner. It defines that holistic approach should be acquired at the time of
public speaking as well as rehearsal and expressing body language must also considered
(Greenaway, et. al., 2015).
Week 7 we study about the process of intercultural communication, in a multinational
corporation different culture or background of people are working. So that, employees have
to understand intercultural communication skills in order to interact with others in best
possible manner. Although, barriers of communication may also affects the process of
learning intercultural communication skills.
In the week 8, there are included different types of communication structure follows by
business organizations. As per their nature or hierarchy, business organizations follow
different communication structure, such as – upward, downward, formal and informal
communication.
In week 9, we have studied about the concept of team building as it is an effective process
which assists people to take responsibility to manage people in best possible manner. Team
building also ensures optimal utilization of available resources. I also read about different
stages of team building – forming, storming, performing and adjourning.
At last in week 10, I learned interpersonal and intrapersonal communication. In which
interpersonal communication occurs when a person interacts with others, beside this
interpersonal communication occurs folks interacts with one.
Section 2
This section is a literature review of all tasks defined in section 1 so that people can apply
communication techniques in their daily life. According to Lyndon, et. al., 2015).
Communication supports in controlling and managing activities at the workplace and helps in

decision making processes thus to determine the alternative course of action. In present
business scenario, businesses cannot survive with isolation, socializing is important as it
makes them able to accept all changes and diverse culture. Effective communication enables
managers to coordinate human resources with physical elements which make an organization
to run smoothly; this coordination cannot be obtained without proper communication. …

while making communication with staff members there is needed to fulfil all ethics which
represents to provide full respect or dignity to others. Berlo’s SMCR model of

which is a minimalist abstraction of the reality it attempts to reproduce; here information
sources act as – destination and sources. Shannon’s model is a useful abstraction which
signifies the most important components of communication as well as their general relation to
one another. The underlying aim of communication is in a meeting of minds on common
problems or issues. The biggest misconception in communication occurs in internal and
external communication as well as also when the agenda of communication is not clarified.
With the viewpoint of Yang, et. al. (2015) by applying communication models and theories in
organizational processes managers will be able increases efficiency in production processes.
It allows managers to convey targets and issues as well as allocate tasks to people as per the
roles and responsibilities. Therefore, it can be said that communication is essential for
gaining quick and higher performance level by ensuring optimal utilization of available
resources. It is has been overviewed that nowadays, business organizations seek people who
can follow and give instructions, accurately listen, provide useful feedback, get along with
co-workers and customers, network, provide serviceable information, work well in teams,
and creatively and critically solve problems and present ideas in an understandable manner.
Therefore, the main principle of communication is based on generating awareness and
effectiveness among people as they easily interact with others and grab better future
opportunities.

With the viewpoint of Quirke (2017) Ethics in communication highly contributes to making
imperative decisions; it is all about nurturing or developing a relationship as well as building
communities within across contexts and cultures. By considering the concept of
communication competencies managers will deliver the actual message to target audiences
which represent clear meaning. In this relation, the main purpose of communication is to
ensure that the receiver is getting actual information which is sent by the sender and further
considers a frame of reference so that each person brings interaction. Shannon model
determines that there is a need to perform inverse operations of that done by transmitter
reconstructing the message or information from the signal. At last, while making imperative
communication with two or more parties, it is essential for supervisors to determine queries
or issues of staff members thus to provide them feedbacks or reviews accordingly with an
aim to improve their skills and knowledge level in the specific area of consideration.
Therefore, I week 1 I learned that what the major aspects are of communication and how to
improve in required manner for obtaining organizational goals or objectives.

Conclusion
From this above-mentioned assignment, I would like to say that by studying week 1 lectures I
get to know about different aspects of communication which helps people to ensure better
interaction with others. Apart from week 1, I think that week 4 and week 3 would be
supportive for me to achieve career goals and objectives. Under week 3, I will study about
professional written communication, i.e. writing professional communication and writing
academic documents; these weeks make me able to write in professional forms which are free
from plagiarism and well-formulated sentences.
