INTRODUCTION
With an increase in the external competition pressure on different companies to expand
their security system has raised. It is because they have to ensure that their assets and resources
are safe. Digitalisation has provided great help in this context as through this level of risk is
reduced to minimum (Berman and Cheng, 2010). Lebra is a telecommunications enterprise
which is providing services in many countries. Following essay will show the import factor
consider by company in implementing advance technology in working area along with the
challenges of BYOD faced by the IT department.
TASK
As while operating on networks company deals with sensitive data they have to ensure
that before adopting to the process of bringing own device (BYOD) company takes various
considerations. Getting the device enrol is the prime requirement in which it has to be decided
that on which basis company will block an external user to stop him connecting to network.
Keeping passwords will also be of great help as this way company can restrict unwanted
subscribers. After this before implementing this method company also needs to decide that up to
what extent the sensitive data will be shared on the net so that it can be taken care of that which
data will be saved, print on mobile devices. As it is a complex activity companies IT sector faces
various challenges in the implementation of same (Shapiro, 2011). The major issue is of the
security as when an individual is allowed to use a particular network it becomes difficult to
restrict the limit of his usage. Another drawback of same is that it require high tech technology
like advanced equipments and dissimilar configurations which provide hurdle to the IT team to
come over them (López, 2010). It becomes difficult for them to collect each and bring all the
matter online. Apart from this it is also very complicated to manage thousands of cell phones all
together. Lastly, the other major issues faced by the IT department is that as the government has
asked to keep check on the usage of devices of all employees, IT sector finds it difficult to track
and monitor the records of different user specially of those who are in habit of changing their
devices frequently. Also virus is another drawback that hinders the operation of technology
department as when an employee use the external Wi-Fi many times they get infected with virus
which they further bring to the network of work place. Hence to restrict the use is necessary
which is not possible to practice completely (Wingate and Tribble, 2012).
