• Cafes are becoming an important part of
human life as customers prefer to spend
their leisure time in Cafes.
• People from different age group visit
cafe with friends and family to spend
some time with them
• Some businesspersons visit cafe to meet
their clients hence, this business is a
good opportunity in hospitality industry.

3.1 Rationale of project
Opening a new hospitality business sector needs proper
planning as it is a demand and supply related
business.
Concept: Cup O' Joe will make best effort so that it can
create a unique space in the mind of its customers.
Store will be visually attractive to customers and
good quality products would be supplied to
customers.
Market place and target market:
• Cafe has taken an important part of human life as
people irrespective of their age prefer to spend time
here.
• Hospitality business attracts more customers based
on the service provided to them (Brandon-Jones et al.
2016).

Location
• Location plays an important part in hospitality industry as
customers choose restaurant, cafes, and hotels by considering
its location (Neuhofer et al. 2015).
• Location of the cafe will be at the central location in London,
UK near Piccadilly Circus. This place is chosen as a number
of tourists visit this place at different times of the year.

• Number of tourists is increased by 20% in
2015-16 as per the data of UK government
(Guardian, 2016). Thus, the sales would be
increased.
• On the other hand, employees of this
heritage place can spend some time here. A
different room would be provided for
business meetings.

• Size: Size of cafe is important, as some of the people
prefer small cafes while some prefer larger ones. The
current cafe will be a medium sized one with one room
for business meetings. This separate room would help to
attract the businessmen to conduct meetings in cafe.
Thus, number of customers can be increased for the
Cafe.

• Funding: Bank loan would be required to start this
business. Bank manager will provide overall description
of the cafe. As opined by Mariani et al. (2018),
investment in hospitality is important as these places are
required to be designed as per the expectations of
customers.
• In response to design the place, proper amenities are
required and hence, funding is important.

• Products and services: Customers prefer good quality and
healthy food from hospitality industry. Hence, best quality
food including some first foods like sandwich and burger
will be sold in this cafe.
• Licensing: The company will register under the food
business registration council of UK government.

3.2 Hospitality business plan including

• Ambiance: Ambience is one of the most important
factors for Cup O' Joe. Light colure floor and design will
be chosen. Comfortable chairs will be with a separate fast
food joint.
• Culture: The cafe will attract customers from different
cultural backgrounds and it will serve vegetarian as well
as on vegetarian foods.
• Brand: The cafe intends to attract business persons as
well for which branding are important. Hence, the
management has to use proper decoration for the room,
which will be designed for business meetings.

• Exterior: In a hospitality business exterior look is also
important as this look would create the first impression on
customer's mind. The outside walls of Cup O' Joe will be well
decorated to attract customers.
• Functional areas: Food and beverage would be the main
functional area of this cafe.
• Customer flows: Enough places will be provided for
customers. There will be a waiting lounge for the customer
with good sitting arrangements.

• Need of customers: Need of customers is an essential element
in the hospitality sector (Filimonau and Mika, 2019). The cafe
would consider the need for customers and provide services as
per their expectation and requirement.
• Sustainability: Social sustainability is the most obvious pillar
of this business. The healthy and lively community will be
maintained in the cafe. The employees will be well trained and
any type of arguments would be discouraged inside the cafe.

• Functional area: Functional area will include a well-
designed cafeteria, a separate room for business
meetings and a separate food counter for junk foods. A
waiting lounge will be there so that customers can wait
there if seats are not available inside the cafe.
• Human resource and management: Employees has to
be polite in the hospitality industry as they deal with
customers (Filimonau and Mika, 2019). The employees
hired for the cafe are required to be very polite and will
assist the customers in case of any problem.
