The Use of CAM among Women with Type 2 Diabetes: A Systematic Review

This report presents a systematic review of the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) among women with Type 2 diabetes, focusing on the Malaysian context. It investigates the benefits of CAM compared to conventional medicine, identifies problems associated with conventional treatments, and recommends strategies for administering CAM to mitigate the impact of Type 2 diabetes. The research employs a narrative synthesis approach, collecting and analyzing secondary data from journals, articles, and papers, with a focus on articles published within the last five years. The study aims to provide information on medication to reduce the prevalence of type II diabetes in the Malaysian women population, considering factors such as the increasing prevalence of diabetes and the potential for complications. The review includes a detailed analysis of data collection methods, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and the justification for choosing a narrative synthesis approach, along with a discussion of the timeframe, resources, and dissemination plans for the research.
