Introduction
Project management refers to the application of processes, skills and experience to achieve
targeted result out of a project as per the defined standards (Bjorvatn and Wald, 2018). This
project is undertaken with respect to Camden Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Service Group (CSC
& TSG) which are in the process of organising a music concert for raising funds as well as to
provide information about the services they run. Related network diagram, matrix of
stakeholders and Work Breakdown Structure are discussed below. Also, discussed below are
risks involved as well as setting up of necessary control checks.
Task 1
Network Diagram
Network diagram is a graphical representation of all operations, projects and processes for a
work project. Its application is mapping out the schedule and work sequence (Mizuno, 2020).
Progress is tracked at each phase up to completion. This tool helps in planning, organising and
controlling. It is used by CSC & TSG to justify the time estimate for various interdependent
activities of the project in hand. Below mentioned are time frames used by project manager to
ensure the timely completion of various activities:

Task 2
Matrix of Stakeholder
This is considered as effective project management tool that is significant for analysing
project stakeholder along with their interest and power (Khan, 2020). There are different
stakeholder that is related to project and it is very important for organisation to analyse and
evaluate stakeholders impact on project management practices. This model includes four
quadrates which are mention below in detail.

 Keep satisfied – This consists of the stakeholder that has low interest and high power to
take decision regarding project management and business decisions. For example,
government, policies or rules of government will lead to have direct impact on business
practices.
 Manage closely – This quadrant includes stakeholder who have high power and high
interest in business practices (Milani, 2019). For example, manager, owner or organizer
who manage all task closely as well as have high interest in successfully completion of
the project.
 Monitor – It includes stakeholder who have minimum efforts in business activities. This
type of stakeholder has low power and low interest in decision making or business
practices. Example of monitor stakeholder is customers, visitors and so on.
 Keep informed – It includes stakeholder that have high interest but low power of take
decision. They have information and interest in business activities but cannot take any
decision. This type of stakeholder includes employees or worker who is working with in
organisation.
Task 3
Work Breakdown Structure
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a tool that is based on the technique that breaking
work into smaller tasks makes it more manageable. This tool is used in project management to
ensure that project plans are in line with the scope, cost and desired schedule of the project
(What is a Work Breakdown Structure?, 2020). It is of two types – deliverable based and phase
based. Deliverable based WBS focuses on demonstrating relationship between deliverables
(product/services or results) and the scope of the execution of the project while phase-based
focuses on breaking the projects into phased process that makes it easy to track, manage and
control the operations and execution of tasks through their unique deliverables. Music concerts
can be divided into phases. Management of music concerts can use the deliverables of those
phases to define the work and order they have to perform. It is to be supervised by chief of
concert. Work breakdown structure is significant for providing correct direction for successfully
and effectively performing all task. With the support of effective work breakdown structure all
practices can be timely completed and it will lead to reduce complex project into simpler part.

Task 4
Risk Analysis
Risk Impact Strategy to mitigate the impact
Noise Pollution High Organisers are advised to keep visitors at safe distance
from music systems.
Thefts and pick pocketing High Organisers are advised to ensure proper vigilance and
safety as well should issue advisory to public to take
care of their belongings (Galli, 2017).
Clashes Low Organisers shall be ready to tackle any situation if it
arises.
Stampede Medium Organisers shall be ever ready to prevent causalities.
Smoking and fire Low Fire management equipment needs to be installed and
fire brigade vehicle on hold at venue.
Rancid food products Low Only quality checked food shall be allowed inside
Narcotics consumption High Drugs are strictly to be prohibited.
Sun strokes Medium Shady areas need to be created.
6
Document Page
Dehydration High Proper facilities of safe drinking water shall be made.
Technical faults Medium Double checks should be made before concert and no
experimentation on final performance.
Stringent finances Moderate Activities shall be carried out within specified budget as
this is itself fund raising event, funds not to be drained.
Accidents Low Ambulance with doctor and nurses shall be on hold at
venue (Virine and Trumper, 2017).
Congestion High Proper and organised entry and exit shall be managed.
Also, less than total capacity of venue, people must be
allowed.
Environmental issues Medium Environmental impact assessment must be conducted
and considered while planning.
Accidents with crew Low Multiple rehearsals shall be made as well as back-ups
shall be ready.
Disruptive Music Services High Appropriate songs and conducive environment shall be
created.
Accidental physical damage Low Contingency plans shall be made in budget to made any
compensation (Shishodia, Dixit and Verma, 2018).
Societal Impact High Concert has an ulterior motive along with fund raising,
that shall not take backseat.
Chance of service Medium Thalassaemia awareness information shall be provided
before starting concert.
Organising Team High Professionals shall only be taken into team.
Task 5
Control for the event
This is the process where standards are set for the work activities and those who are
performing that work activity (Bushuyev and Verenych, 2018). These minimum standards are

then made to act as control checks against which actual performance is judged and the deviations
are corrected.
 Quality expectations – These are the quality checks that are expected from the event
control team. The Camden Company is required to complete all operations within 101
days. They can put control checks over the schedule and quality of goods being supplied.
 Acceptance criteria – These are the criterions that determines the approval conditions of
workforce and activities being conducted. The Camden Company team needs to specify
standard parameters for recruiting people as well as conducting of previous activity
before moving to succeeding one which would also act as control check.
 Quality specification – These are the specific measurement that are to developed for
quality approval. The Camden Company management team needs to specify quality
standards for people and activities involved such as stage designer, raw material
suppliers, dress designers, etc. These guarantees and minimum work standards will also
act as control checks.
There is strong relationship between all task of project as well as critical path. There is
direct relationship between different activities with critical path as it will provide guidance or
direction to carry out practices in more effective manner. Critical path includes set of series
which is significant for guiding task as well as timely completion of all task.
Task 6
Appropriate methodology
Waterfall model – This is significant model that is used with in system development life cycle
with the model of creating sequential as well as linear approach. This is considered as
waterfall model as it is systematic that includes series of phases one after another. This
model is classified into different stages and in this output of one stage will be consider as
input of next stage (Yap and Skitmore, 2020). In this model all stages perform accordingly
and systematically. Waterfall model stages includes conception, initiation, analysis, design,
construction, testing, production or implementation and maintenance. This model is very
effective in order to successfully complete project management practices in significant
manner.

Six sigma – It is considered as appropriate tool or approach in order to successfully improve
capability and potential of business. Six sigma approach provide guidance and direction for
increasing overall performance of organisation along with this reducing waste management
practices (LILL, WALD and GLEICH, 2020). Through this approach company will be able
to decrease waste as well as increase the quality of products and service offered by
company. Through six sigma approach project managers will be able to successfully
measure the quality of performance and services with desired objective.
Agile – This is significant methodology which is helpful in promotion of continuous iteration of
development and testing through software development cycle of the project. Agile model is
referring as the process which is classified into different steps and stages with the
collaboration with stakeholder or improvement in every stage. This is very useful project
management model that will provide accurate guidance and direction for successfully and
effectively complete project activities within given time frame.
