Introduction
For the given assignment, Canada has been chosen as the country that has ranked top in
global rank for happiness. Canada is a country known for its fun and interests. Canada stands
second after Denmark as one of the happiest countries in the world. As per the research and
findings, Canada is known to be experiences major life satisfaction by the residents of the
country. The study states the level of satisfaction among the youth generation is still high since
2003 till present, even the elderly people residing in the country is highly satisfied with their life
(Berry & Hou, 2016). There is a vast majority of the people in Canada who is happy in their life.
There are majorly main determinants of happiness of the residents of the country they are:
stability of the mental health of the people as well as their physical health, there is prevailing
sense of community and stress among the residents of the country. Some of the other factors
include better income structure of the residents in comparison with the other countries; the self
employed residents are stated to be in a happier state. There is comparatively low level of
unemployment, they have a high education system, the country faces no civil or political strife,
or any financial crisis. Canada is known to be a well developed country with social safety and
reducing level of poverty (Chen & Hou, 2018).
However, there are some regional differences in the country; these differences raise the
sense of community and the level of stress among the residents of the country. The rural states
and smaller cities of the country is said to have lower sense of community and stress. Larger
cities like Toronto and Vancouver, have lower level of satisfaction as compared to the smaller
cities and rural states (Evans & Soliman, 2017). The stress level in these cities is comparatively
higher than the smaller cities.

trustworthy relationships among the residents of the country. It ensures supportive environment,
strengthen the actions of the community. High social capital positively affects the society as a

Wellbeing of a country implies that almost all the residents of the country are reported to
have a life satisfaction which results from the quality of life (Berry & Hou, 2016). There are
various indicators which denote wellbeing of a country. The indicators of wellbeing of a country
includes GDP of that country, the level of income among the residents, the employments status
of the people as well as the physical and mental health of the people, the level of education,
secured infrastructure for health promotion. By measuring these indicators, the wellbeing of a
country is determined (Michalos, 2017).
There are many cross national research and studies which provides a relevant
comparative study that confirms the relation between the social capital and the wellbeing of the
residents that directly and indirectly affects the people. The social capacity of the country is
measured by the social trust, emotional and relational connection among the people and their
civic engagement (McLaughlin, 2013). The studies have found that there are positive correlation
and strong relationship between the life satisfaction and the social capital of the residents in the
country. Several study and research confirms that one of the main factor of or determinant of life
satisfaction among the people are social capital along with the income they earn. This increases
the life satisfaction among the people. The wellbeing of the people depends highly upon the

women and elderly people of Canada have more returns on the social capital in comparison with

Acadian community. The wellbeing of a community depends upon the combination of social,
economic, environmental and health conditions of all the individuals in the community. The
wellbeing of a country high determines the wellbeing of the communities present in the
country(Haramati & Weissinger, 2015). All the determinants of wellbeing such as health,
education, socio-economic conditions are essential for the development of the community and
the country as a whole.
The Acadian community is all about the values they believe in, the community fairly
deals with all the people with respect, dignity and diversity among them. The Acadian
community has a high standard of living with health population; they have a dynamic culture and
leisure. The level of education in the community is high (Haramati & Weissinger, 2015). The
Acadian community is described as an equitable community which is supported by high values
of respect, loyalty and trust. The community is known to be in a state of wellbeing and high
social capital for its diversity, empowerment of all the individuals and social justice. All the
individuals of the community are treated with equality and fairness. Among the community, all
the members have adequate access to education as well as health education centers. There is
opportunity available to strengthen the community, and increase capacity to develop of personal
skills of every individual ( Helliwell, Huang and Wang, 2014).
The Acadian community developed a vitality project, the focus of which was on
improving the wellbeing of the community and to increase the longevity for the community. As a
team the community was successful in changing the lifestyle of the people. The community
offers grocery stores with fresh and healthy foods, this was the policy built by the community to

individuals to participate in the social events. All the factors mentioned above contribute towards
building social capital and wellbeing in the community and the country as a whole ( Helliwell,
Huang and Wang, 2014).

helped in creating more jobs to the community and the general public. The high spirit of the
community has lead to development of the entire community and contributions towards
economic development.
However, there are few issues regarding employment in the community. This is an issue
which is still faced by the Acadian community ( Portela et al., 2013).. There have been strong
oppositions by the community in order to change the governmental and federal policies and the
programs. There have been rise in the protests by the community regarding the governmental
policies relating to fishing. These are some of the issues faced by the community and a cause of
great concern (RodrĂ­guez-Pose & Berlepsch, 2014).

The Acadian community is making great efforts in order to enhance the wellbeing of the
country. The popular community actively contributes towards the physical and mental health of
the people by organizing health care systems and recreational facilities to the people in general
and the community members. The community successfully promotes the lifestyles and habits of
the people, supporting cultural programs and sports activity team. The Acadian community is
highly committed in providing education to the people and uplifting the social status of the
people. The committee significantly contributes towards social interactions among the people,

communities and workplace. Moreover the community has supported financial wellbeing of the
people in general and contributes towards the wealth of the country.
The success of the community lies in the fact as research and study marks its continuous
growth and diversity since the year 1961, as mentioned above. The community has found success
in organizing social and cultural events which has successfully enabled to influence the
relationship between the communities and the general public. It has also provided opportunity to
the people in building trust and loyalty by organizing events. It has also been successful in
providing health care services and creating opportunity for physical and mental wellbeing of the
community. However, the community faces many challenges being a minority. They are unable
to create more jobs; the rate of employment among the community people has been stagnant.
There are protests in the community for the rules and policies of the government.
Therefore it can be concluded that Canada has been successful in bringing wellbeing and
social capital for the country. By influencing the mental health of the people and increasing
support to the people the country can further influence the wellbeing. It is recommended to
promote the physical and mental health of the people and by building healthy relation and
cooperation among the people of the country. The country must focus on the further reducing the
poverty and unemployment from the country.
