RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Introduction
The e-business is used to buy and sells the goods and services of the company by using the
internet. It is a technique wherein organization directly communicates with the consumers
regarding the product and services. Additionally, the information strategies directly affect the
business performance in long-term. Because, in case, an organization does not provide the
information about the product and services on internet appropriately then it can decline the
performance of business (Armstrong, et al., 2015). In current business scenario, information
technology is highly used by the corporation as it is effective to sustain in the market in long-
run.
Research aim and objectives
The main aim of this research is to examine the impact of information technology strategies
on the business performance. The following objectives will be used to meet the aim of
research:
Objectives
To examine the meaning and concept e-business management in context of Canadian
life insurance companies
To identify the relationship between business and information approach in public
aspects in context of Canadian life insurance companies
To evaluate the ways to improve the business and information strategy alignment in
Canadian life insurance companies
Project scope
The scope of this project is wide because e-business management is currently trendy and the
popularity of e-business management could be examined by the articles, blogs, and journals.

Literature review
Meaning and concept of e-business management
According to the Flick (2015), e-business is a way of electronic communication wherein
organization is able to make business transactions. At the same time, it is appropriate to make
a favorable relationship between the customers and company in long-term. It is also stated
that e-business is the management of performing the business through the internet. It will
involve the purchasing and sold the product and services together with offering the technical
support by the internet. In oppose to this, Foss et al. (2013), stated that e-business considers
some significant factors such as confidentiality of customer data, cost, authenticity, access
control, and data integrity to successfully meet the task.
To analyze the relationship between business and information approach in public
aspects
As per the view of Laudon (2015), there are some significant kinds of factors that directly
influence the associations and community range in the context of the Canadian life insurance
company and their business process. Additionally, it is also illustrated that social
rearrangement and measurements demonstrate that how IT has impact on the planning and
objectives of business. The association is directly impact on the business and IT, therefore,
managers of company has executed the plan of business communication. The knowledge
management areas can also favourable impact on the long-run planning of business
alignments.
To improve the business and information strategy alignment
In support of this, Mackey (2015) stated that the business alignment and IT offers the
evidence to successfully operate the business. The business environment is also important to
explain the way to meet the organization goal in an appropriate manner. At the same time, it
is also explained that the information strategies and business offer the high level alternatives

RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Research Design and Methodology
For this research, research design is important to provide the suitable guidance to collect the
data and evaluates the findings of the research issue. Additionally, researchers will use two
kinds of research design such as quantitative and qualitative research design to meet the
research objectives (Neuman, et al., 2014)
Qualitative research
The researcher will use the following steps to successfully conduct qualitative research study:
Chart 1: Qualitative research process
(Sources: Orna, 2017)
For this research study, the researcher will create the research question about the research
issue afterward relevant sites will be chosen. Subsequently, researchers will collect the
important information and interpret the data into a meaningful way. Further, researcher will
create the conceptual understanding regarding the research topic for completing the research
in an appropriate manner. Moreover, researchers will use these steps to evaluate the business
and information approach alignments in public aspects, Australia (Orna, 2017).

Approaches to reliability and Validity
The researcher will use the deductive approach because the research is based on the
hypothesis. It means the research topic is based on the objective nature. Moreover, the
deductive approach will be appropriate because it allows the researcher to prove the
hypothesis regarding the research topic. As a result, it will be also beneficial to enhance the
reliability and validity of obtained outcomes. Beside this, Research will not use the inductive
approach because the research nature is quantitative.
Sampling and Sample Size
In this research study, non-probability sampling method will be exercised by the researcher.
The non-probability sampling method does not allow the researcher to provide the equal
chance to each participant of research. To perform this research study, 10 managers of
Canadian banking insurance company is selected from different geographical areas to
conduct the interview section (Peppard, et al., 2016).
Data Collection Method
For this research study, primary data will be collected by the researcher to obtain the reliable
and valid result. The primary data is fresh data that will be collected through the survey,
experiment, questionnaire, and observation. It will be significant to obtain accurate outcome
in less time.
Variables Specifications
There are two kinds of variables that will be used by the researcher such as an independent
and dependent variable. In this study, the Independent variable is e-business and its impact on
the business of Canadian insurance company is dependent variable (Silverman, 2016).
Quantitative research
Researchers will use the following steps to conduct the quantitative research:

In the quantitative research, the researcher will create a theory regarding the research topic
and frame the hypothesis. Afterward, the research scholar will create the research design and
develops appropriate concept towards the research subject. The researcher will choose the
applicable research sites to collect the appropriate information. Moreover, the researcher will
evaluate the collected data through different techniques. Subsequently, research will address
the conclusion of whole research.
Research Instrument
For this research, researcher will use secondary data to collect data regarding the research
issue. The secondary data is collected by using the existing information. The researcher will
use different kinds of sources to collect the secondary data such as journals, books, articles,
company websites, and magazines (Smith, 2015).

The researcher will formulate the data which will evaluate the appropriate data.
Subsequently, the researcher will create the knowledge about the meaning, frequency, and re-
coding. Afterward, the researcher will evaluate the data by using the significant techniques
like crosstabs and statistics. Along with this, the research scholar will exercise MS-excel to
demonstrate the existing data by using the graphs, tables, and charts. After that, the research
scholar will evaluate the result, and provide suggestions. Consequently, the researcher can
meet the research objectives in the specified time (Taylor, et al., 2015).
Sampling and Sample Size
For this research study, researcher will use the probability sampling method that enabled the
researcher to give the equal chance to the participants. It eliminates the probability of biases
from the research appropriately. In additionally, the non-probability sampling method is time-
consuming as compared to the probability sampling method. To conduct the quantitative
research, 50 employees will be selected who uses e-business to improve the business
performance of Canadian insurance company. It will be appropriate to obtain the reliable and
valid data in less time and cost.
Reliability and Validity of Data
Validity refers to the degree where the different theory will feasibly evaluate in the

Research Limitation
The researcher may face various issues at the time of conducting the research study. These
issues are lack of resources, cost, and time. Further, a researcher will face some limitations at

On behalf of the above timeline, it can be evaluated that conducting survey through
questionnaire and gathering information via secondary data sources will take more time
period than the other practices.
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that the e-business management is significant
to easily buy and sell the product and services of the company by using the internet.
Additionally, it can also be summarized that the information technology can directly
influence the performance of the business in long-term. Finally, it can be concluded that
alternative hypothesis is accepted because there is a significant relationship among the
business performance and information technology strategies.
