National Zoo and Aquarium
This is a private property of 19 hectares whose
motto is to assist in the conservation of the
natural world through educational experiences
that are innovative and exciting4. The
aquarium offers a sneak peek into the aquatic
life of the marine and the freshwater fish like
Murray Cod and Queensland Groper. The reptile
and amphibian specimen includes skinks,
iguana, pythons and boa constrictors. Lions,
snow leopards, Bengal tigers, rhinos, pandas
and marmosets abounds the zoo3.
Opening Time: 9:30 to 5 pm, 7 days a week,
every day of the month
It is a five minute walk from the centre of
Canberra. The zoo is connected to other
parts of Australia by bus services as
well as metro services.
