Creative Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment requires the creation of a cancer awareness brochure aimed at educating the public on various aspects of cancer. The brochure should cover the importance of early detection, including screening methods and their benefits, as well as lifestyle choices that can influence cancer risk. It should also explain the process of cancer mutations leading to metastasis, making it understandable for a general audience. The brochure should include recommendations for healthy living, such as balanced diets, quitting smoking, physical activity, and regular cancer screenings. The aim is to provide concise, friendly, and informative content to empower readers with knowledge about cancer prevention and management. The brochure format allows for flexibility, with the inclusion of images, quotes, and lists to enhance reader engagement and understanding.

Early detection
can save lives
Cancer screening help in early detection
for the risk of cancer, where it makes the
treatment successful and easier before
the symptom arise.
Cancer need to be screened before it start
to show significant signs and symptoms.
Screening of cancer help to lower the
death rate due to cancer.
In cancer there are some possible
warning sign, and taking quick action can
leads to early diagnosis and successful
treatment (Shaw et al. 2015).
For example in breast cancer screening
can be done through mammography.
Screening for cervical cancer, colon
cancer, can be done by using cytology
screening which includes Pap smear.
Other method could be sigmoidoscopy for
colorectal cancer or biopsy of the tissue
sample could be used to confirm the risk
of cancer (Wardle et al. 2015).

SUGGESTIONS FOR EARLY
DETECTION
The most cancer in united states are skin
cancer and lung cance (Siegel, Miller and
Jemal 2016).
The screening of skin cancer can be done by
visual examination of the skin for color, size
and shape of skin, which can be confirmed by
biopsy (Smith et al. 2015).
Lung cancer can be screened by CT scan or
MRI.

Lifestyle choices and
environmental factor
that can led to cancer
We do know that there are
certain factors that can
contribute to cancer.
The lifestyle of people can be the major
reason for cancer. For example use of
tobacco and habit of smoking is the most
important cause of lungs cancer.
Lack of physical activity and unhealthy
eating habit of the people can also contribute
to cancer risk. For example the junks food
and packaged food contain many added
colors and preservatives which has the
potential to cause cancer and are regarded
as carcinogens (vel Szic et al. 2015).
Getting exposed to UV radiation and sun also
contribute to skin cancer.
The pollution, exposure to virus or bacteria in
the environment can lead to lung or liver
cancer.
Working in unhealthy environment where
there is high rate of chemicals like asbestos,
nickel, benzene can cause cancers (Davey
Smith, Relton and Brennan 2016).

The process of
cancer mutations
leading to
metastasis
Cells of the body undergo regulated cell
division by the action of various proteins.
Changes in the genetic makeup of the cell
and genes controlling the cell division can
cause mutations which can lead to
cancer.
The tumor suppressor gene called P53 are
responsible control the rate of cell division
and proto oncogene which remain
inactive state have the potential for
increasing the rate of cell division
(Altrock, Liu and Michor 2015).
Mutation in such gene will inactivate the
TSG and activate oncogene which will
lead to uncontrolled division of cell. These
cell are known as cancerous cells and
have the capability to get spread to other
tissue or organ via bloods or lymph, this
phenomenon is called metastasis.
The place where the cancer cell travels
give rise to new tumor by disrupting the
cell division.
Most of the symptom of the early stage
cancer go unnoticed which lead to
progression of the cancer through
metastases.
It is significant for the people to observe
the changes in their body and undergo
cancer screening tests.
Recommendation
1. People should adopt healthy living
habits like balanced diet.
2. Quit smoking and limit the
consumption of excessive alcohol.
3. Involve physical activity as the
part of living.
4. Manage the increasing weight and
maintain good health (Siu 2016).
5. Get regular cancer screening
test.
6. Avoid eating tobacco.
