Health promotion enables people to increase control over their own health (What is
health promotion?, 2020).This is because it covers social and environmental
interventions which are made in such a way to benefit and help individuals with their
health and quality of life by teaching them how to prevent causes of illness in such a
way where it is not forcing them on treatment or a cure. Health promotion is
important because it reduces premature deaths as health promotion focusses on
prevention as it reduces the cost which individuals, employers, families, insurance
companies, medical facilities, communities, the state and the nation would spend on
medical treatment (College of Public Health UGA, 2020). An example of this is if you
was to have a lot of cigarettes intake due to stress or mental health issues such as
depression by having nicotine inside you may be a short term fix to make you feel
better but the long term risk is you may later on receive health problems such as
lung , stomach or mouth cancer . However by having Health Promotion it could
minimize the risk and help to reduce your addiction through giving you guidance to
support you in a healthier way such as telling you places where to go to speak to
someone or giving advise on having other supplements instead of a drug which would
kill you and will help you to save money in the long run.

the way through which this proposed campaign will contribute in reducing their level

6. An outline and justification of proposed campaign activity
and effectiveness of leaflet
The outline of the proposed campaign activity include: -
1. Research: - Conducting the research about the cancer data and what all are
the factors that make person ill.
2. Planning: - In the proposed campaign of cancer it is essential to conduct the
proper planning which will be required to decide the ways to generate
promotion.
3. Selecting media: - The researcher will select the different media through which
they can carry out the proposed campaign.
4. Design the leaflet: - In the entire proposed campaign of cancer, it is essential
to design the leaflet.
The justification of the proposed campaign includes the improvement in the level of
rising cancer issues among the people and to make the people to select the healthy
options for their health.
The leaflet is effective as it offers the information to the patients which are essential to
encourage participation of the health care. It will be effective to generate the
awareness among the people for the ways to prevent cancer and to determine the
new interventions (Al Bardaweel and Dashash, 2018).
7. Ethical or related issues in carrying out the proposed
campaign activity:
Cancer is when abnormal cells divide in a controlled way, some cancers may
eventually spread into other tissues (How cancer starts, 2020). Cancer is caused
through changes to the DNA within cells. This means because DNA is inside a cell it
is packed into a large number of individuals genes, each gene is a set of instructions
which tells the cell what functions they need to perform , however errors in the
instructions can cause the cell to stop its normal function and may cause a cell to
become cancerous. (Cancer - Symptoms and causes, 2020). This is where the
cancer could spread across the body or if lucky the doctors could try to control it
through strategies I will further discuss in due time.
As cancer has a huge impact on society in the united states and across the world In
2018, an estimated 1,735,350 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United

States and 609,640 people will die from the disease (Cancer Statistics, 2020). This
clearly shows that individuals will be at risk as the statistics show that the number of
individuals who will suffer from this decease can lose a life. This can furthermore
effect families who are seeing their loved ones in pain and having to deal with grief of
losing a loved one.
As cancer is a very sensitive topic there are elements of ethical issues such as
1. Diagnosis and detection of cancer-
https://www.news-medical.net/health/Oncology-Ethical-Issues.aspx
Screening for cancer and the possibility of getting false positives (positive results
indicating cancer when there is no cancer) are a big ethical issue (test? et al., 2020).
The reason being is
2. Extent of patient information
Questions arise over the extent of information to be given to the patient regarding
disease extent and possible outcome of the disease. As Many patients may prefer to
have the truth in black and white but some may wish to be shielded from the extent of
spread of the cancer. Revelation of the cancer and its outcome to the patient has
been an ethical challenge from time immemorial (test? Et al ,2020).This is an ethical
issue as patients begin to fear for the worst as once, they have been notified they do
not at this moment of time know how little or how big they have the cancer. This could
lead to them feeling anxious causing more stress to themselves which further result to
them with having a panic attack, heart attack or stroke as the shock could leave a
huge impact on their health.
8. Expected Health Promotion Campaign Activity outcomes and
dissemination strategy:
The expected outcomes of the health promotion campaign activity and
dissemination strategy is understanding cancer as a major disease and to
generate the awareness or educate the maximum people to prevent illness
of cancer, enhance the levels of fitness and also to provide to educate
about the importance of proper diet, regular exercise and many others.
The outcomes show the decline in the illness from the cancer and also to
spread the ways through which it can affect.
